A player's guide to Stumble Guys on PC: how matches and rounds work, movement tech that wins races, survival and team-round strategy, currencies and what to spend them on, and what's live in September 2026.
Researched September 2026 — current as of the Live, Laugh, Lava Land (Volcano) season and the 6th Anniversary Festival (from September 23, 2026). Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.
Quick Start
- A standard match is 3 rounds. 32 players start; the official format trims the field 32 to 16 in Round 1, 16 to 8 in Round 2, and 8 to 1 winner in Round 3.
- There are three round types: Race to Finish (qualify by crossing the line), Solo Elimination (survive until enough players are out) and Team Elimination (outscore the other team).
- You don't need to win Round 1 - you need to qualify. Play safe early; take risks only when it's the final round.
- Learn the dive. Diving gives a short burst of forward movement - great for gaps, finish lines and recovering from mistakes. Check Settings for the key binding.
- Watch the players ahead. Traps and hammers hit on patterns; people in front reveal timing.
- Stay out of the crowd. Most eliminations in the first seconds come from getting bumped in a pile-up.
- Crossplay is on. You're playing with Steam and mobile players; party up with friends on either platform.
- Free to play: you can earn skins, emotes and pass rewards without spending money - do the weekly events.
- This season's new ability is the Bumper - try it for free in the Showcase event before you decide whether to use it.
Round Types in Detail
Race to Finish
- Get over the line before the qualifying slots fill.
- Take the outside line around crowded obstacles.
- Dive at the finish - it often gains you a place.
- Know your shortcuts: many maps have riskier but faster routes (jumps across gaps, ledges off rotating platforms).
Solo Elimination
- Stay alive until the player count hits the target.
- Stay near the center of shrinking or falling-floor maps; edges are where you get knocked off.
- Lava Land style maps: keep climbing and don't waste jumps on moving platforms.
- Block Dash style maps: time your jumps to the rolling obstacle and stay out of other players' landing zones.
Team Elimination
- Your team shares a score or survival count.
- Protect teammates and don't play too aggressively if your team is already ahead.
- In team lava or laser maps, stay alive rather than chasing kills.
- Coordinate in a party when possible; random teammates are unpredictable.
Movement Tips
Technique | How | When
Dive | Press dive while moving | Gaps, finishes, escaping traps
Jump-dive | Jump, then dive at the peak | Maximum horizontal distance
Bump control | Walk into players at an angle rather than head-on | Pushing rivals off edges
Recovery | Dive toward the platform after getting hit | Saving yourself from falls
Camera | Pan to see traps behind or around you | Survival rounds
Practice: custom games (no rewards, adjustable parameters) are ideal for practicing maps with friends.
Abilities
- Abilities are special powers you can equip and use in matches. The newest is the Bumper (September 2026 Volcano season), which turns you into a high-impact bumper: bounce rivals away on defense or knock them into lava on offense.
- The Volcano season includes a Showcase event to try the Bumper for free.
- Use abilities deliberately: save a defensive ability for when you're about to get knocked off; save offensive ones for crowded edges.
- Check the in-game shop and events for other abilities currently available; availability rotates with seasons.
Currencies and Progression
Currency | How you get it | What it's for
Gems | Purchased, events, pass rewards | Premium currency: premium Stumble Pass, skins, bundles
Stumble Tokens | Playing matches, events, daily spins | Shop purchases and some unlocks
Crowns | Winning matches | Leaderboards, bragging rights
Trophies | Ranked play | Ranked leaderboard progression
Stumble Pass Stars | Playing and completing objectives | Progressing the Stumble Pass
Stumble Pass
- Monthly reward track with a Free tier and a Premium tier (1,200 gems per the official site).
- Only buy Premium if you'll finish it - play regularly through the month.
- Look for double-reward weekends (e.g., the Back to School event in August 2026 doubled Stumble Pass Stars, XP and Crowns on wins).
F2P spending tips
- Do weekly events. Most include free rewards and are the easiest source of cosmetics.
- Save gems for the premium pass rather than single skins if you play every week.
- Buy limited collab skins only if you really want them - they rotate out, but they're cosmetic only.
- Watch final reruns. Collabs like Miraculous Ladybug (final rerun in late August 2026) and Little Nightmares (final return in September 2026) have left or are leaving permanently.
What's Live (September 2026)
Event/Season | Dates (from official posts) | Details

Inferno Elimination | From Sep 9 | Two rounds: Lava Rush Teams, then Lava Land Legendary solo final
Little Nightmares final run | From Sep 16 | Six, Mono, Low and Alone skins return one last time; Nightmare Dash and Nightmare Elimination
6th Anniversary Festival | From Sep 23 | Returning classic levels and cosmetics, Block Dash Fiesta with a Banana Pinata transformation, B-Day Banana skin
Earlier in summer 2026: the Atlantis Reborn season (Ruins of Atlantis and Trident Trails events, the latter on SpongeBob Dash), the Back to School Block Dash Teams event, and the Miraculous Ladybug final rerun ("The Last Dance" on Laser Dash Legendary Teams).
Ranked Play
- Ranked tournaments award Trophies and place you on leaderboards (local and global top 100 per the official site).
- Play consistently: qualifying in every round is worth more over time than risky wins.
- Master a handful of common maps - ranked rotations tend to reuse popular Race and Elimination maps.
- Play with a stable connection; lag spikes cost more in ranked than in casual.
A New Player's First Week
Day | Focus | Why
1 | Casual matches, learn jump and dive timing | Most early eliminations are movement mistakes
2 | Play the current season's featured event (the Bumper Showcase in September 2026) | Free rewards and a free trial of the new ability
3 | Custom game with friends on maps you keep failing | No-pressure repetition
4 | Focus on Solo Elimination rounds | Learn to hold the center and read shrinking arenas
5 | Team Elimination with a party | Coordinated teams qualify far more often
6-7 | Try Ranked once you qualify consistently | Trophies reward consistency, not highlight plays
Keep a mental list of maps you lose on. In most Stumble Guys rotations, a relatively small pool of popular maps comes up again and again - fixing two or three problem maps raises your qualify rate more than anything else.
Settings for PC
- Frame rate: uncap or match your monitor refresh rate for smoother movement.
- Graphics: lower effects in crowded lobbies to avoid drops at the start of rounds.
- Controls: rebind jump and dive to comfortable keys; many players prefer dive on a mouse button.
- Controller: supported, and often more comfortable for movement-heavy games.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Rushing into the pack at the start. You get bumped and lose more time than you gain.
- Diving too early. The dive has a short window; mistimed dives send you off edges.
- Ignoring the round goal. Qualifying is enough in early rounds.
- Spending gems on impulse. Plan for the pass or a skin you really want.
- Chasing players in elimination rounds. Survival first, aggression second.
- Skipping events. They're the main free source of rewards.
Advanced Tips
- Learn trap timings per map - rotating hammers and moving platforms repeat on fixed cycles.
- Use jump-dive combos to skip sections on race maps.
- Edge play in elimination: stay just inside the edge where others can't push you easily, then move to the center when the field thins.
- Team rounds: keep your team's weakest player alive when the score depends on survivors.
- Abilities timing: use knockback abilities (like the Bumper) when opponents are near hazards - that's where they get eliminations.
- Custom games with friends are the best way to drill hard maps without losing anything.
