How to set up your account of up to 11 characters in IdleOn, what each class line is for, how AFK gains work, which daily chores matter, and where the September 2026 content (World 7, Royal Guardian, Jelly Operator) fits.

Researched September 2026 — current as of the "Jelly Operator" update (September 18, 2026) and Grand Tournament Season 5. Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.

Quick Start

  • IdleOn is an account game, not a single-character game. You will run up to 11 characters, and each one "specializes" in different skills. Progress on one character boosts the others through shared systems like stamps, statues, cards, alchemy, and the post office.
  • Mix your classes. The community wiki suggests roughly 3 Warriors, 3 Mages, 3 Archers, and a Beginner (the Beginner becomes the secret Journeyman line), placed on your 7th or 10th slot.
  • Activate buffs before you log off. Buffs active when you go AFK last for the whole offline period.
  • Only the on-screen character is "active." Everyone else earns AFK gains in whatever map or skill you left them in. Always park every character on something useful before closing the game.
  • Open the Post Office early (World 2). Its bonuses are huge in the early game.
  • Join a guild. Guild bonuses are free power, and most guilds only ask for a bit of weekly Guild Points.
  • Use two talent presets per character, one for fighting and one for skilling.
  • Leaving the game open earns event plays during events. That is how the Cropfall event handed out free Event Plays, for example.
  • Everything is free to play. All classes, maps, skills, and bosses are available without paying. The Gem Shop only speeds things up.

Class Tree

Every character starts as a Beginner and chooses a path. Each class "specializes" in a skill, which gives it a bonus there.

Base | Subclass | Elite class | Master class

Warrior (Mining) | Barbarian (Fishing) | Blood Berserker (Cooking) | Death Bringer (Farming)

Warrior | Squire (Construction) | Divine Knight (Gaming) | Royal Guardian (Spelunking), new in Aug 2026

Archer (Smithing) | Bowman (Catching) | Siege Breaker (Sailing) | none

Archer | Hunter (Trapping) | Beast Master (Breeding) | Wind Walker (Sneaking)

Mage (Choppin) | Wizard (Worship) | Elemental Sorcerer (Divinity) | none

Mage | Shaman (Alchemy) | Bubonic Conjuror (Laboratory) | Arcane Cultist (Summoning)

Beginner (secret) | Journeyman | Maestro | Voidwalker

  • Death Bringer, Wind Walker, and Arcane Cultist are master classes handed out by Masterius.
  • Journeyman, Maestro, and Voidwalker come from secret questlines. The Beginner route is the famous "secret class." Do not accidentally pick Warrior/Archer/Mage on the character you meant for it.
  • Royal Guardian (August 25, 2026) is the newest master class. It has its own talent points, and it cannot use "All talent LV" bonuses or Super Talents until you unlock them in the lower shelves of the Royal Armory.

World | Name | Skills introduced | Signature systems

You unlock each new world by progressing through the previous one's maps and bosses. Monster kill requirements for the next map are now shown in the top-left of the screen for every world (June 2026 change).

AFK Gains, Explained

  • Fighting AFK: A character standing in a monster map keeps killing at an AFK rate while you are offline. Pick a map where it kills reliably.
  • Skilling AFK: Park a character at a mining node, tree, fishing spot, and so on. Some skills have speed caps, so check the wiki before sinking resources into ever-faster tools for a skill that is already capped.
  • Candy (time candy) instantly gives stored AFK time. Save it for when you need a specific resource, or for anvil production.
  • Claim the anvil often, especially after using candy.
  • Drops on the ground eventually despawn (coins sooner than items), so pick up loot while you are active. Drag across items to vacuum them up.

Early-Game Priorities (Worlds 1 to 3)

  • Stamps: Buy and level stamps constantly. They are permanent, account-wide stat boosts.
  • Statues: Collect and level statues. They boost EXP, drop rate, and damage.
  • Cards: Every monster drops cards. Equip card sets for bonuses.
  • Anvil production: Keep every character's anvil making materials you need for gear and stamps.
  • Gear path: The wiki suggests a Golden Helmet with 3 pieces of Amarok Armor early, moving to Dementia Armor later.
  • Accuracy: Early accuracy comes from the Upgrade Vault, Orion, and Poppy. Later it comes from Shaqurracy and alchemy vials.
  • Dungeons: In the Dungeon Flurbo shop, prioritize Talent Points, AFK Gains, Accuracy, and Monster Cash.
  • Alchemy: Focus on bubbles and liquids before sigils. Use the "Level Up Gift" bubble on the first character you log into each day.
  • Obols: Family obol pages should use circle silver Pop Obols and square/hexagon/sparkle Dice Obols.
  • Trapping: Silk Traps let you farm shiny critters. Upgrade traps whenever you can.

Daily and Weekly Checklist

You do not need to do all of this every day, but these are the high-value routines according to the community wiki's checklist.

Daily, general:

  • Free gems and the tradable pet offers at Pet Mart
  • Daily Merit Tasks for each world, and guild daily Guild Points tasks
  • Shop vendor goods, and use guaranteed daily crystal spawns
  • Class dailies: Refinery Throttle (Squire), "Its Your Birthday!" (Journeyman), "Printer Go Brrr" (Maestro), "Void Trial Rerun" (Voidwalker), "Cranium Cooking" (Shaman)

Daily, by world:

  • World 1: Picnic Stowaway quest line (gems and golden food), anvil and forge, a Colosseum ticket from Typhoon, Baba Yaga, the Spikes minigame (gems once a day, opened by typing "If u love me let me go" in chat)
  • World 2: Arcade balls, the Post Office, alchemy vials/shop/sigils/bubbles, island expedition bottles and crystals
  • World 3: Construction buildings, cogs, and flaggies. Trapping.
  • World 4: Breeding eggs and spices
  • World 5: Sailing ships and the captain shop. Gaming field items.
  • World 6: Farming crops, Sneaking ninjas and the Jade Emporium, Summoning battles (3 per day)
  • World 7: Spelunking page reads, Research daily rolls, Jewel Cogs and Tiny Cogs

Weekly: Guild weekly tasks, Dungeons Happy Hour, Killroy's Slaughterhouse, weekly battles, Worship, world minibosses (Dilapidated Slush, Mutated Mush, Domeo Magmus, Demented Spiritlord).

Midgame Systems Worth Understanding (Worlds 4 to 6)

  • Laboratory: Links characters together so bonuses (like mastery-type effects) spread across the account. The Chip Repository and Jewel Spinner rotate weekly.
  • The Rift and The Tome: The Rift gates big bonuses behind challenges. Rift 61 unlocks Cooking Mastery and Ribbon ranks 21 to 25 (June 2026). The Tome scores many account "metrics" into points.
  • Divinity: Unlock Arctis as soon as you reach World 5 so the lab keeps linking correctly.
  • Sneaking: The wiki recommends keeping 6 Pushers and 4 Supporters in operations.
  • The Slab: Tracks every unique item you have ever looted. Some bonuses scale with Slab count, so collect oddities.
  • Greenstacking: Holding 10M+ of an item in storage "greenstacks" it. Since June 2026 greenstacks are permanent, with a Slab display showing which items qualify.

World 7 and the September 2026 Content

  • Royal Guardian (Aug 25): Kingdom Expansion. You build outposts across every world, recruit workers, traders, and militia, plan collection routes, and spend kingdom resources in the Royal Armory (70 upgrades). Royal Statues are mega statues with multiplicative bonuses to EXP and drop rate. The Orb of Remembrance becomes the Orb of Verisimilitude, powered by killing Regal Mobs. It can drop Lil Orblets for the Lil Orblets shop. There are Pet Raids, a PvE mode with free pets, and the Verminous Rats miniboss in the Royal Castle. Follow-up changes lowered the Orb kills needed to become a Royal Guardian from 600 to 250, cut Armory costs by 10 to 30%, and moved "Resource Grades" to Shelf 22.
  • W7 Taskmaster (Sep 5): World 7 Tasks through Wavey Wayne in the top-left of the W7 town, with 5 upgrades in the W7 Merit Shop. A Sushi Combo Meter was added, along with Auto Play for event games and full in-game patch notes (Menu button).
  • Jelly Operator (Sep 18): A new research minigame unlocked through the Research Grid. You form teams of Cells to remove obstructions from Jelly patients. There are 8 cell types, 37 upgrades bought with Bloodcells, and 72 obstructions, each giving an account-wide bonus. It also added a new Atom, a Tome metric worth up to 800 points, a 64th sushi, and the Gaming Palette bonus "Mossy Green".
  • Grand Tournament: Season 5 started on September 18, and the Earl champion pets (Bronze, Silver, Gold) were added. Pet Tokens spent on Tournament Champion pets are refunded when you visit the Pet Park map through Doggy.

Gems: How to Spend (F2P and Light Spenders)

The general community consensus is to put gems into permanent account-wide quality of life before consumables. Good examples are extra storage, carry capacity, inventory space, and extra character slots. Avoid spending gems on one-off boosts early. For the current prices and the full list, check the wiki's Gem Shop page, because the shop changes with limited-time sections. Always claim the freebie in limited-time Gem Shop sections.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Leaving characters idle in a town or a useless map when you log off.
  • Making all characters the same class. You need specialists for every skill.
  • Spending the Beginner slot on a normal class when you wanted the Journeyman line.
  • Forgetting buffs before going AFK.
  • Rushing sigils before your alchemy bubbles are solid.
  • Over-investing in speed on capped skills. Check the wiki for skill speed caps before chasing faster tools.
  • Ignoring the Post Office and guild early on.
  • Equipping the Slush Skull in Worship (not enough charge gain).

Advanced Tips

  • Think in multipliers. Late-game power comes from stacking multiplicative bonuses: statues, Royal Statues, Tome points, lab links, and so on. A small multiplicative upgrade often beats a large additive one.
  • Use candy strategically for anvil production or a single bottleneck resource instead of spreading it randomly.
  • Voidwalker's "Bone Marrow" should be maxed on active talent presets for Cooking, according to the wiki.
  • Read the in-game patch notes (Menu button). LavaFlame2 posts extended notes there for every update, including balance changes like the Sushi Combo rework.
  • Community tools: Many endgame players use the IdleOn Toolbox and the community Discord to plan upgrades. Only use tools the community trusts, and never give out your login.
