A practical guide to Wobbly Life after the v1.1 Crossplay Update: how to earn money fast, what to buy first, jobs and missions, the Museum treasure hunt, Space, co-op and crossplay, and Arcade mode.
Researched September 2026 — current as of v1.1 (Crossplay Update, 2026-08-27). Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.
Quick Start
- Grandma wants you to get a job. That is the whole setup: earn money, buy stuff, and eventually buy a house to make her proud.
- Jobs are your income. There are 20+ jobs (pizza delivery, firefighting, taxi driving, disco dancing and more). Try them all early; you will quickly find favourites that pay well for your playstyle.
- Missions unlock rewards. 100+ story missions and challenges give unique clothes, vehicles and unlocks rather than just cash.
- Everything is physics. Your Wobbly grabs, climbs, carries and falls over. Clumsy is intended; learning to grab and carry reliably makes jobs much faster.
- Buy a vehicle early. Getting around Wobbly Island on foot is slow. A cheap car pays for itself in job efficiency.
- Save up for a house. Houses range from a wooden cabin to a fancy mansion. It is the long-term goal.
- Play with friends. 1 to 4 players online or local split-screen. Since v1.1, PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Luna and Switch/Switch 2 players can all play together.
- Use invite codes to join friends on other platforms.
- Explore for secrets. The tropical island, the mountain and hidden caves all hide things.
- Space is a whole second open world with its own jobs, missions, secrets and spaceships.
Controls and Movement
Wobbly Life is a physics-based character game:
- Grab: each hand grabs separately (mouse buttons on PC, triggers on controller). Grab objects, ledges, other players and NPCs.
- Carry: hold grab to carry items; use both hands for heavy or awkward objects.
- Climb: grab a ledge and pull yourself up by jumping while holding on.
- Ragdoll/fall: you will fall over. Get up and keep going.
- Vehicles: enter by walking up and using the interact prompt.
Check the in-game controls menu for exact bindings on your platform; the game supports keyboard and mouse and controllers.
Money: Jobs
Job type | Examples | Tips
Delivery | Pizza delivery | Learn the roads; a faster vehicle improves earnings
Emergency | Firefighting | Teamwork shines in co-op
Driving | Taxi driver | Drive smoothly; crashes waste time
Performance | Disco dancer | Follow the on-screen prompts; easy money once you get the hang of it
Manual work | Farming, mining, construction site jobs (three were added in v0.7.7) | Physics-heavy; carrying well is the whole skill
Space jobs | Space diner, asteroid mining and more | Unlock after reaching Space
Money is Wobbly Bucks. It buys outfits, vehicles, pets, props and eventually your house.
Money tips
- Repeat the job you are best at rather than rotating between all of them once you have tried them.
- Upgrade your transport to cut travel time between job stops.
- In co-op, split up to run different jobs, or team up on jobs that benefit from extra hands.
- Missions often reward items that would otherwise cost money, so interleave them with jobs.
Spending: What to Buy First
Priority | Purchase | Why
1 | A basic vehicle | Speeds up every job and mission
2 | Useful outfits from missions | Free, and some are fun to show off
3 | A pet from the Pet Shop | A faithful companion; purely for fun
4 | Better vehicles | 90+ vehicles to collect
5 | A house | The big goal; start with a modest one if you want a base early
6 | Clothes | 500+ items; cosmetic
Missions and the Museum
- Story missions: unique puzzles and challenges around the island, each with a reward. Many are great in co-op.
- The Wobbly Museum has lost all its artifacts. Buy treasure maps, solve their clues, dig up the treasures and return them to the museum for rewards. Treasure hunting doubles as a tour of the map's hidden corners.
- Secrets: the tropical island, the mountain and cave networks reward exploration. Climb everything.
Areas worth exploring
The world grew update by update during Early Access, so each of these was once a headline feature (per the official Steam announcements):
Area/feature | Added in | What to look for
Paradise Island | v0.7.0 | Golf and an observatory
Jungle and caves | v0.7.5 | Mystery missions and caves; the pet system also expanded here
Construction site | v0.7.7 | Three construction jobs
Up in the Clouds | v0.9.1 | New jobs and pets
Sewers | v0.9.4 | An underground location with its own secrets
Museum collections | v0.9.5 "Curious Collectors" | The museum treasure system and a mysterious new NPC
Space | v1.0 (full release, 2025-09-18) | A second open world, space training and spaceships
If you are hunting for everything, work through them in roughly this order; the older areas are the most forgiving places to learn climbing and carrying.
Space
The Wobbly Space Programme is recruiting. Once you get there:
- Space is a separate open world with its own jobs, missions and secrets.
- You can fly your own spaceships.
- Activities include mining on an asteroid and other space-specific work.
- Space jobs broaden your income once the island jobs feel repetitive.
Co-op and Crossplay (v1.1)
Feature | Details
Players | 1 to 4, online or local split-screen
Crossplay | PC (Steam), Xbox One/Series, PS4/PS5, Luna, Switch 1/Switch 2
Joining | Friends list or the new invite codes
Mobile | Android and iOS versions (August 20, 2026) crossplay with each other only, not with PC/console; the Android version is also playable through Google Play Games on PC
Switch 2 | Native version released August 20, 2026, with save transfer from Switch 1
Co-op tips
- Decide whose world you are playing in before starting; the host's world, unlocks and house are what everyone sees.
- Physics chaos is part of the fun, but agree on "no grabbing the driver" during timed jobs.
- Split-screen is ideal for couch play with younger players.
Arcade Mode
A break from Wobbly Island with customizable rule sets (Arcade arrived in v0.9.0, alongside the first mod tools):
Mode | What it is
Trash Zone | A chaotic mode with its own mini-games and area
Hide & Seek | Classic hide and seek in custom areas
Wobble Run | Obstacle race
Sandbox | Free play with toys and props
Each mode has settings you can tweak, making Arcade great for parties.
Steam Workshop
Create your own Wobbly Life content and share it through the Steam Workshop, or browse the community library. Workshop content is a big reason the game stays fresh for PC groups.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Walking everywhere. Buy a vehicle as soon as you can afford one.
- Spending early money on clothes. Fun, but it delays your first vehicle and house.
- Skipping missions. They unlock rewards money cannot buy.
- Ignoring treasure maps. The museum rewards and exploration are worth it.
- Forgetting Space. It adds a whole second world and more jobs.
- Mixing up mobile and PC crossplay. Mobile only plays with mobile.
Advanced Tips
- Learn to climb properly. Grab-and-jump climbing opens shortcuts and secrets.
- Specialize for money. Once you find your best job, grind it in bursts between missions.
- Use co-op to speed up treasure hunts. One player reads clues, others search.
- Try Arcade settings. Custom rules turn Hide & Seek and Wobble Run into very different games.
- Browse the Workshop for community maps and creations when you finish the main content.
