A practical guide to War Robots on PC: how hangars, robots, weapons, drones, pilots, Titans and Motherships fit together, what each game mode wants from you, how to spend Silver, Gold and the new Spare Parts, the robots from the 2026 updates, and how to climb without wasting resources.

Researched September 2026 — current as of War Robots update 12.4 ("Simulation Errors" event, from September 22, 2026). Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.

Quick Start

  • Build one strong hangar, not five weak ones. Upgrading a few robots and weapons deeply beats spreading resources across many.
  • Claim Spare Parts every day (if your account has them). During update 12.4 the developers are testing a Spare Parts system on some accounts: upgrades cost Silver plus Spare Parts instead of waiting on a timer. The Workshop produces 1,500 Spare Parts per day and pauses once 1,500 are waiting unclaimed — so claim regularly.
  • Do the event daily tasks. Each update runs an event (currently Simulation Errors) with daily rewards in the Event Hub in the upper-left of the Hangar, plus a collectible title for completing it.
  • Play the objective. In Domination and Beacon Rush, beacons win games; kills don't.
  • Match weapons to your robot's slots and role. Light (L), Medium (M) and Heavy (H) versions of each weapon exist; fill a robot with weapons that share an effective range.
  • Learn the status effects (EMP, Rust, Corrosion, Freeze, Slowdown, Stealth, Defense Points, shields). Most of the game is using and countering them.
  • Don't hit ultra-new robots head-on in a low-level hangar. New releases arrive strong; flank or pick another lane.
  • Join a clan. Clan activities and teammates make progression faster and matches less random.
  • Save Gold for things that permanently matter (slots, key items) rather than speeding up upgrades.

Core Systems

Hangar and robots

  • Your hangar holds several robot slots. You deploy one robot at a time; when it's destroyed, you drop the next one.
  • Robots come in roles: brawlers (close-range), mid-range damage dealers, snipers/long-range, support/tank, and flyers (jump-jet or flying robots).
  • Each robot has weapon hardpoints (Light/Medium/Heavy) and often active abilities (dash, stealth, shields, turrets, etc.).

Weapons

  • Most weapon families come in L/M/H versions with the same mechanics at different power levels. Example from 12.4: Iaraghi-L / Iaraghi-M / Iaraghi-H.
  • Pay attention to range, reload style (magazine vs. constant fire), and effects (e.g., Defense Breach, Rust, EMP, Freeze).
  • Mixing ranges on one robot (e.g., a shotgun with a sniper) wastes damage. Build for one engagement distance.

Drones, pilots, modules

  • Drones attach to your hangar and fight alongside your robots; newer drones also give passive bonuses tied to specific robots (e.g., 12.4's Prena).
  • Pilots are assigned to robots/Titans and add skills; event pilots are designed for their event robot (e.g., Donnie Woo for Dedopali and Iaraghi).
  • Modules add passive or active bonuses to your hangar or robots (durability, damage, repair, etc.).

Titans and Motherships

  • Titans are huge robots with their own weapons (Alpha/Beta slots) and abilities. They're called into battle mid-match once available and can swing a fight on their own. Recent Titans: Sirocco (12.3), Waymaker (12.0), Princeps (11.6).
  • Motherships are support platforms with abilities used from above the battlefield (e.g., 12.1's R'lyeh).

Ultimate editions

Older robots and weapons get Ultimate versions with reworked abilities and stats (12.4 added Ultimate Shell, Ultimate Rime and Ultimate Glacier). They can bring an old favorite back to current power levels.

Economy: Currencies and What to Spend On

Currency | How you get it | Spend on

Silver | Battles, events, tasks | Upgrades (with Spare Parts), purchases

Spare Parts | Workshop: 1,500 per day (claim before it caps); can also be bought with Gold | Robot and weapon upgrades (replaces upgrade timers on accounts in the 12.4 test)

Gold | Events, tasks, clan rewards, purchases | Hangar slots, key items, optional Spare Parts purchases

Event currencies / keys / chests | Event Hub, battles | Event rewards and items

D-Gems | Official web shop | Web-shop purchases

Spending priorities (F2P)

  • Hangar slots (more robots per match = more damage per match = more rewards).
  • A core set of robots and weapons that suit one playstyle; upgrade them together.
  • A drone and pilot that complement your main robots.
  • Titans once your robot hangar is competitive for your league.

F2P tips

  • Never let the Workshop cap. Unclaimed production is lost production.
  • Finish events. The daily logins and tasks in the Event Hub are the most reliable source of free items.
  • Don't buy the newest thing on day one unless you'll build around it. Power creep is fast; buy what fills a gap in your hangar.
  • Ultimate conversions of older gear you already own can be excellent value.

Game Modes

Mode | Objective | What wins it

Domination | Capture beacons to drain the enemy bar | Holding beacons; also win by destroying all enemy robots and Titans

Beacon Rush | Like Domination, but you can spawn on captured beacons | Aggressive beacon play and fast rotations

Team Deathmatch | Most kills wins, deployment zones A, B and C | Focus fire, trade efficiently

Free for All | Individual frag points; spend points to revive | Picking fights you'll win

Push | Escort a payload toward the enemy spawn | Bodies near the payload — speed depends on who has more robots near it

Extermination (PvE) | Five difficulty levels against AI (Ticks, Tarantulas, the Bastion boss) with optional challenges | Solid team DPS and survival

Skirmish | Rotating special rules, changes every 24 hours | Adapting your hangar

Events can also add seasonal maps (e.g., Grand Stadium Shenzen in 12.2 and a seasonal Yamantau in 11.6).

Recent Robots and What They Do (2026 updates)

Update | Robot / Titan | Role and key mechanic

12.4 (Sep 2026) | Dedopali + Iaraghi (L/M/H) | Mid-range turret commander: deploys up to three autonomous turrets; one launches a homing missile that gravity-lifts targets out of cover. Iaraghi is chargeable with Defense Breach (bypasses Defense Points, Forcefields, Reflectors). Drone: Prena.

12.3 (Aug 2026) | Fang + Harmattan (L/M/H) | Close-range shotgun flanker: dashes into Stealth, then hits a cone with EMP and Rust on exit. Precise positioning matters.

12.3 | Sirocco (Titan) + Barq (A/B) | Mobile brawler Titan applying Rust and Slowdown up close.

12.2 (Jun 2026) | Vulcan + Lumen (L/M/H) | Self-upgrading assault robot: dealing damage overclocks its core in stages. Give it time to scale.

12.1 (May 2026) | Shoggoth | Long-range cover fighter with an Aegis shield; elevates its weapon platform to shoot over cover. Weak to flankers.

12.0 (Apr 2026) | Vector + Celsius/Fahrenheit/Kelvin | Magnetizing brawler: pulls enemies in for flamethrowers; Reflector shield on its ability.

11.8 (Mar 2026) | Anaksor | Flying raider with built-in machine guns; goes invisible if attacked during takeoff. Paired weapons apply Corrosion.

11.7 (Jan 2026) | Ammit | Tankiest brawler: Absorber Shield converts damage into Defense Points; stacks Slowdown on targets.

11.6 (Dec 2025) | Hastatus + Princeps (Titan) | Mid-range with Quantum Lock invulnerability windows.

Reading the meta: The newest robots are usually the strongest in their niche for a while. Instead of chasing each one, identify which effects dominate your league (for example, Defense Breach weapons punishing shield-reliant hangars) and adjust.

Status Effects and Counters

Effect | What it does | Counter

EMP | Disables abilities and weapons briefly | Break line of sight; don't cluster

Rust | Stacking debuff that weakens the target (check the in-game tooltip for exact numbers) | Break contact before stacks build; avoid long exposure to Rust sources like Fang and Sirocco

Corrosion | Reduces Defense Points and repaired durability | Kill fast, don't rely on repair

Freeze / Cryo | Slows and weakens | Keep distance from cryo weapons

Slowdown | Movement speed reduction | Dash abilities; stay near cover

Stealth / Invisibility | Hard to target | Area damage, spotters, pressure when they reveal

Defense Points (DP) | Extra damage buffer | Defense Breach weapons bypass them

Forcefields / Reflectors / Aegis | Block or return damage | Flank, Defense Breach, wait out timers

Quantum Lock / Stasis Barrier | Temporary invulnerability | Hold fire, reposition, then burst

Gravity Lift | Pulls targets out of cover | Stay away from turret lines; move when lifted

Positioning and Tactics

  • Use cover every second. Peek, shoot, return. Standing in the open is how durability disappears.
  • Know your range. Brawlers need to close distance behind cover; snipers need long sightlines and teammates in front.
  • Focus fire. Two players shooting one robot beats two duels.
  • Beacons first. In Domination, a contested beacon with three robots on it matters more than a kill across the map.
  • Save abilities for commitment. A dash, stealth or shield used to escape a bad fight is fine; using it for nothing is a waste.
  • Titan timing: bring your Titan in when your team is contesting beacons — a Titan landing on a busy objective often flips it.
  • Swap order matters. Put the robot best suited to the current map state next in line; many players start with a fast beacon capper and keep heavy brawlers for mid-game.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Spreading upgrades across too many robots. Your hangar will be weak everywhere.
  • Letting the Spare Parts Workshop cap. Claim it daily.
  • Mixing weapon ranges on the same robot.
  • Ignoring beacons in objective modes.
  • Running shield-heavy builds into Defense Breach weapons like Iaraghi.
  • Chasing every new release instead of filling gaps in your hangar.
  • Solo-pushing into a group. You'll feed Titans and lose your robot fast.

Advanced Tips

  • Hangar synergy: build around one or two effects (e.g., Rust + EMP from Fang, or Corrosion from Anaksor's weapons) so every robot amplifies the next.
  • Drone and pilot pairing: event drones and pilots are balanced around their event robot. If you build Dedopali, the Prena drone and Donnie Woo pilot are designed for it.
  • Ultimate editions can be the best-value power boosts for F2P players.
  • Counter-pick your next drop. Check what the enemy is fielding before choosing which robot to deploy next.
  • Use Skirmish to test odd builds without risking your ranked results.
  • Extermination is a good place to try new weapons against predictable AI.

Platforms and Accounts

  • War Robots is on PC (Steam), mobile, and consoles (PS4/PS5, Xbox One and Series X|S), with cross-platform matchmaking.
  • Account transfer between console and other platforms wasn't available at the time of the official console post; check War Robots' social channels for updates.
  • PlayStation Plus subscribers receive an Ultimate Destrier, two Ultimate Ions, and quarterly Silver/Gold packages.

FAQ

Is War Robots pay-to-win? Spending speeds up access to new robots and upgrades. F2P players can compete by focusing resources on one hangar, finishing events, and claiming Spare Parts every day.

What are Spare Parts? An upgrade resource being tested during update 12.4 (September 2026) on accounts with the new system enabled. It replaces upgrade timers: upgrades need Silver plus Spare Parts, the Workshop makes 1,500 per day, and you can buy more with Gold. If your account doesn't show a Workshop, you're still on the old timer system.

What's the newest robot? Dedopali with the Iaraghi weapon series and Prena drone, added in update 12.4 (September 2026).

Which mode gives the best rewards? Objective modes you win quickly are the most efficient; event tasks usually specify which modes count.

Can I play with friends on console? Yes, cross-platform matchmaking includes consoles.

How do I see event rewards? Open the Event Hub in the upper-left of the Hangar; daily rewards also appear in the News section.
