A player's guide to Noble Empire's free-to-play firearms simulator: game modes, how XP and unlocks work, which DLC packs are worth it, promo codes, fast disassembly tips for timed modes, and what the September 2026 updates changed.

Researched September 2026 — current as of the September 2026 updates (the HD interface, PBR shaders and Promo Code button on September 18; the UI scaling fix on September 23; and the Military Pack DLC on September 26). Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.

Quick Start

  • It's free. Most models can be unlocked through play by earning XP. The store page claims you can reach 100% completion without spending money if you play a lot.
  • Start with Operate and Field Strip modes on a simple pistol. They teach you how the gun works before you tackle full disassembly.
  • Armorer mode is full disassembly. Take the gun down to every pin and spring, then reassemble it.
  • Timed modes are the real game. Once you know a model, run it against the clock and chase the high score table.
  • Use X-Ray and Cutaway to see how parts interact inside the gun. It makes disassembly order obvious.
  • Slow time down (as slow as 50x) to watch the cycle of operation, including gas flow in gas-operated guns.
  • Redeem promo codes from the new Promo Code button on the main screen (added September 18, 2026), or the old way through the console with the tilde key.
  • Vote for new models in the in-game voting section; community votes decide what goes into production.

What World of Guns Is

World of Guns is part game, part interactive encyclopedia. It simulates real firearms in 3D, part by part, with realistic mechanics. The catalog covers about 200 years of firearm history, 295 models and more than 33,000 parts, from a Liberator pistol to a FlaK 88. Bonus models include cars (DeLorean, Lotus Seven, AC Cobra, a Hot Rod), motorbikes (Ducati 916 and a Captain America bike), military vehicles (T-72, BMP-3, HMMWV, F4U Corsair) and anatomy skeletons (human, lion, gorilla, horse, wolf and an Allosaurus).

Each model is built from photos, blueprints, and hands-on study of real guns. It's been used as a learning aid by armorers, law enforcement and military personnel.

Game Modes (per model)

Mode | What you do

Operate | Load, fire, reload and handle the gun; learn its controls

Field Strip | The standard cleaning disassembly

Armorer (full disassembly) | Take apart every part, then reassemble

Timed challenges | Disassembly and assembly against the clock, with a high score table

Hardcore | The toughest of the timed modes

Super Game | An additional challenge mode on supported models (the August 2026 update plan lists it being enabled for the T-72)

Shooting ranges | 10 ranges with timed objectives, from Glocks to RPG-7s

Paint mode | Create custom skins for weapons

Minigames and quizzes | Answer questions and play minigames for XP

Viewing tools

  • X-Ray: see through outer parts to watch internals. Improved shaders in September 2026 give models more depth.
  • Click'n'Hide: click to hide parts that block your view. The September 2026 update reduced the overexposure that used to happen when you hid many parts on complex models like machine guns.
  • Cutaway: a sectioned view that shows the inside of the gun.
  • Time control: slow the simulation down to 50x.
  • Free camera: orbit, zoom and pan around any model.

XP and Unlocks

  • You earn XP from completing modes, timed challenges, shooting ranges, minigames and quizzes.
  • XP unlocks new models and features over time.
  • Timed modes post your results to a high score table, so they're the natural place to grind once you know a model.
  • Some models are premium and come in paid DLC packs, while promo codes occasionally unlock specific models for free.

Promo codes

  • The developer posts promo codes on Steam news, sometimes limited to the first 50 users.
  • Enter codes in uppercase from the main menu.
  • New method (September 2026): use the Promo Code button on the main screen.
  • Old method: open the console with the tilde key (it can be a different key on some keyboard layouts), type promo [CODE] and press Enter.
  • Example from the September 26, 2026 news post: the code 7B63 unlocks the S&W 4006 (to help test the new button). Codes can expire or run out, so check the latest news.

DLC Packs

There are 31 DLC packages on Steam (as of late September 2026). Typical categories:

Pack type | What it gives

Guns Full Access | Unlocks the full gun collection; the store's recommended one-stop option

Themed gun packs | Starter, World War I, World War II (#1 and #2), Machine Guns, Pistols, Revolvers, Shotguns, SMGs, Assault Rifles, Sniper Rifles, Spec Ops, US Army, USA/USSR, Hunting, XIX Century, Suppressed, Pocket Guns, Aircraft Guns, Artillery

Texture Packs 1 and 2 | Cosmetic skins

4 Cars Pack and 5 Skeletons Pack | Bonus non-gun models

10 Shooting Ranges Pack | The shooting ranges as a bundle

Military Pack (September 26, 2026) | T-72, F4U Corsair, HMMWV and BMP-3 IFV

Check each pack's store page for exactly which models it contains before buying, since several packs overlap with Guns Full Access.

Is it worth paying? If you only care about a certain era (WWII, machine guns), a themed pack is better value than grinding. If you want everything, Guns Full Access is the one-time option. If you're patient, most of the gun catalog is earnable through XP.

Speed-Disassembly Tips (Timed Modes)

  • Learn the model in Armorer mode first. Don't go for time until you know the order.
  • Watch the Field Strip order of a model before trying full disassembly; the first steps usually match.
  • Use X-Ray to find retaining pins and springs that hold the next part.
  • Remove from the outside in: magazine, then slide/bolt group, then small parts.
  • Reassembly is the reverse. Remember which part came off last.
  • Hide parts with Click'n'Hide rather than rotating the camera endlessly.
  • Hardcore mode is the hardest timed mode. Do it only on guns you already know well.
  • Practice on simple guns first (like a Glock or 1911-style pistol), then move to rifles and machine guns.

Settings Tips

  • High-resolution monitors: the September 2026 update turns on x2 UI scaling automatically above 1920x1080. Adjust it in settings if it's too big, and change this outside game modes.
  • 1080p users can now also change UI scaling (September 23 patch).
  • Model updates download on open: some models fetch updated files the first time you open them after a patch. That's normal.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Jumping straight into timed modes on a model you've never taken apart.
  • Rotating the camera instead of hiding parts. Click'n'Hide is faster.
  • Missing promo codes. They're posted on Steam news and can run out quickly.
  • Buying the full pack when you only want one era. Themed packs are cheaper.
  • Ignoring quizzes and minigames. They're easy XP.
  • Changing UI scale mid-mode. The developers recommend changing it outside game modes.

Advanced Tips

  • Use slow motion to learn the cycle of operation. Watching how gas pushes a piston or how a bolt locks makes disassembly logical.
  • Vote regularly. Community votes pick the next models (the KS-23 is a recent winner).
  • Early access to new models is available through the developer's Patreon and YouTube memberships.
  • Paint mode lets you make custom skins; experiment with finishes on favorite models.
  • Shooting ranges are a nice XP break from disassembly and test how well you know each gun's handling.
