Seventy numbered Aniimo tips: Lucky Strike pity counts, why Attack does nothing on Break units, the Alt-swap cast, Homeland wood tricks and more. Most come from Kairos's 68-tip video and each one links to the moment he shows it.
Start here: the six tips that matter most
These are the 70 tips, sorted by theme and numbered so you can skim. Each one is a bold one-liner followed by the reason. Most come from Kairos's 68 Tips I Wish I Knew Sooner, and the rest from his other Aniimo videos. If you only read six, read these.
Never let Primegy cap. It regenerates 1 every 6 minutes, so a 300 cap fills in 30 hours. Everything you upgrade comes from it.
Attack on a Break unit does nothing. The formula uses the higher of Attack or Break, so put the points into Break.
Don't throw Ultras at Alphas. You get the rewards even when the catch fails, and an Alpha has no stat advantage.
Bank EP before you break a shield. The break window is the biggest multiplier in the game, and an empty EP bar wastes it.
Only enhance top-rarity held items. Feeding an upgraded purple or blue item into a gold one loses 20% of what you put in.
Spend 50 Glimmer a day on one Primegy refresh. For progression, nothing else you can buy with Glimmer comes close.
This guide is built on Kairos - Aniimo (YouTube @KairosTime-Aniimo), who tests these mechanics on camera. The timestamp links jump to the moment he shows each tip. Watch the full videos, because the visuals help.
Combat
Tips 1 to 9. The fights you lose usually come down to timing and inputs, not stats. For the full multiplier math, see the damage multiplier guide.
- Bank EP before you break a shield. A broken enemy takes 2.5× damage for about 6 seconds. Get the shield almost down, swap to your Regen unit to fill EP, then break it and dump your skills. Breaking it with your ultimate or with an empty EP bar wastes the window. 1:40
- Break with an element-advantaged unit. Break damage gets the +60% element bonus too. In Kairos's test, Blazen's four casts nearly emptied a Dark shield that Helion's four casts only took about halfway. 3:03
- On PC, hold Alt + a party number to swap and cast in one input. Pressing 4-3-2-1 with Alt held fires every buff in a second. On mobile you tap the ability. Kairos doesn't know the console input. 23:01
- Press Tab to lock on, and leave auto lock-on off. With lock-on, you can hold forward during a channeled or dash-spam skill and the camera follows the target, even when it runs. The "auto lock-on after attack" setting grabs targets when you don't want it to. 23:45
- Twine in for boss fights. The Enhanced Twining talent gives up to +25% damage while you're Twined, and auto-battling in Command Mode gives that up. 8:38
- Pop Turbo the moment it's ready. Its buff is +15% damage and break efficiency for 20 seconds, or +30% with Shrouded in Mist. It needs 4 counters, and they keep charging while Turbo is off-field. 5:41
- Build your starter. Lunara is the easier pick. Helion and Lunara are "low-key a beast", with +30% damage against elements they don't counter (Kairos's figure; Game8's trait text says +20%). Kairos recommends Lunara to new players: she attacks from a distance and has more dodging, while he found Helion's melee kit harder against ranged attacks. 26:00
- Fight Pathfinder challengers when you meet them, and watch your own break bar. They scale up as your Aniimo level and drop the fragments you need to star up Besauce ("you want this guy maxed out"). These are the only fights where you have a Break bar. When it breaks you'll probably die, so heal and put the enemy to sleep before that happens. 24:55
- In Holo-Battle Sim, skip straight to Challenge, then pause or restart as you need. Clearing the top difficulty pays every lower tier's rewards. You can pause partway and finish later, and you can restart freely to reroll the random buff until you get the one you want. 15:40
Catching, Prismana and rare spawns
Tips 10 to 23. Lucky Strike odds, which pod to use, and how to avoid wasting a Prismana spawn.
- Catch 100% of an area to build Prismatic Energy faster there. You have to catch the area's Prismana first, so this helps with duplicates and with event Prismanas that rotate through the same area. Kairos completed Nimbus Fields during the Prismana Turbo week, so the next week's Prismana Inferlupa built faster. 0:38
- Nurture in a friend's world. It gives a little energy at first and a "significant amount" at the highest friendship level. 1:05
- Lucky Strikes only roll on a successful catch, and the odds drop each week. Your first 10 Lucky Strikes each week are 1% per catch (guaranteed by 200 catches), then 0.5% (by 400). Super Lucky Strikes start at a tiny rate guaranteed by 500 catches, then 0.1% (by 1,000), then 0.05% (by 3,000). The captions give the first Super Lucky rate as "2%", but it's probably 0.2%, since Kairos says it is then cut in half to 0.1%. 1:28
- Farm Lucky Strikes with Basic Aniipods. Pro and Mega catch more often, but Basic is still cheaper per catch. A first-throw catch (a Fatal Shot) refunds 46% of the 3,500-credit pod. His 99-pod run got 82 Fatal Shots and about 59% of the credits back. 2:20 · farm
- Catch one of everything in an area for a +50% rare-spawn badge. The badge raises the chance of Sparkling and Umbral spawns there by 50%. 3:05
- Only use a Prismana Crystal on an area with little energy. In Change Weather it spawns the Prismana instantly, but it wipes the area's Prismatic Energy, so never use it on a gauge that's nearly full. 3:20
- Catch Wild Surge spawns. Don't kill them. Each catch sends Vein Essence to the Bloom and kills send nothing. You have 2 minutes to catch them all. 1:15
- Use Tumblers only in Nurture. They're 2× anywhere else but 6× in a Wild Surge. Clear the easy targets with Basics first and save Tumblers for the big, low-rate ones. With fewer than 10 left, go back to spamming Basics. 7:24
- Throw Megas at Alphas, not Ultras. The 2-minute timer pushes you toward an Ultra, but you get the Primegy rewards even when the catch fails, and you'll fight plenty more Alphas. 6:15 · 3:54
- Save Ultras for Prismana or Sparkling spawns you'll put in your combat party. An Ultra guarantees at least Elite potential, and that is all it does. If the catch won't go in your party, a Mega is fine. 9:00
- Catch Umbrals with a Basic pod, and never evolve them. Umbrals are always Perfect. Evolving or changing form removes the Umbral look, so if you want one Sparkling too, use 10 Sparkling Sigils rather than a Cube. 6:41
- A Sparkling Cube can push a Perfect above 8/8, but it isn't guaranteed. Kairos's Infergon went higher, while his Cubed Fulmintis still rolled 8/8 and only reached 9 with a Capa Fruit. 6:31
- After a failed throw, step behind the Aniimo and roll or lob the next pod. It pops out facing the same way it faced before, so you can line up a backstab. For a target just out of range, roll the pod along the ground or aim high so it arcs onto it. 6:55
- Get cheap Perfect weather forms with a Morph Orb. Catch the weather form with any pod to register it, farm a Perfect normal copy, then use 1 Morph Orb to change its form. 10:02
Using Ultras on Alphas, or using a Prismana Crystal on an area that's nearly full. Both waste scarce items. Mega the Alpha and take the guaranteed reward, and use the Crystal on an empty area. 3:00
Progression and resources
Tips 24 to 36. Primegy is the bottleneck, so these tips are about spending it well and not burning materials on stats that do nothing.
- Never let Primegy reach its cap, and buy Daily Supply Packs on days you can't play. The cap is 300, or 600 with the monthly pass. Buying the 3 Daily Supply Packs (Outpost Vendor → Item Exchange) is worse than fighting, but it beats wasting Primegy. 10:01
- Fight the three Omegas 3 times each, every week. They give the most resources per Primegy. Omega Infergon alone gives 3 Starcryst Essence a week. Unlock all three through their quests. 10:25
- Save Primegy Batteries until your world level is around 50 to 55. Rewards scale a little with world level, which you raise through Elite Training. 7:14
- Attack scales off potential, and potential can go past 20. Kairos's Helion shows "20 max +4": star-ups to 6★ add potential, and a held item adds +2 more. At his level, 1 Attack potential is worth +3 Attack. 10:43
- Never put Attack on a Break unit. The formula uses the higher of Attack or Break. Kairos tested a Bolty with +12 Attack and shield damage barely moved, while the same points in Break clearly hit harder. His Blazen has max Break and nothing else. 11:17 · test
- Regen, Support and Heal units scale off level, not Attack. At level 60 their damage is maxed. The exceptions are Dazmand, whose skills scale off Attack, and Somniwing, whose Attack comes from Regen, so build her Regen only. 11:40
- Every stat matters on a DPS, so that's where Capa Fruit goes. On a DPS, Attack, Break, Regen, HP and both defenses all do something, while most other roles need only 1 or 2 stats. Use Capa Fruit almost only on DPS, and on a 9/9 Perfect rather than a 7/7 Elite. 12:49
- Off-field Regen does nothing for EP. Regen only helps the Aniimo on the field (about 5 to 10% on a DPS) or skills that scale off Regen, like Somniwing's and Besauce's. 13:45
- Refund Capability Awakening for one-time fights. Before level 61 you can refund it all for 200,000 credits. Kairos used a reset to build a temporary Scorchhowl for the level-65 rematch that unlocks Prismana Sherro. His upgrade guide gives the cutoff as level 60, so check in-game. 12:20 · 15:03
- Use Inherit instead of rebuilding. It moves everything invested in one Aniimo to another in the same family without deleting the source. Use it to move an Elite's investment to a new Perfect, an 8/8 to a 10/10, or Inferlupa to Scorchhowl, and you save the Dewdrop Crystals spent on star-ups. 16:15
- Release Aniimo you leveled and no longer need. Releasing refunds the resources you spent on them (Kairos got Growth Buds back from a Fentuft). 20:40
- Never enhance purple or blue held items. Feeding an upgraded item into a gold one loses 20%. To farm a specific item, use Institute Guide → Aniimo Challenge → Held Item to see which Alpha drops it. 21:25 · finder
- On a DPS, the top two personality slots are the ones that matter. For Infergon, Kairos wanted Energetic (+2% Attack and Break) and Practical (+4% damage). Psyche Fruit rerolls all four slots at random, so save it for your key Aniimo. 20:07
Capability Awakening can be refunded. Star-ups can't, and they can only be Inherited within the same family. Only star up Aniimo you'll actually keep using. 7:33
Hidden mechanics the game doesn't explain
Tips 37 to 48. Bonuses and menu options the game never points out.
- Alpha status survives evolution and form changes. An Alpha Shelly becomes an Alpha Sheldon and then an Alpha Sherro, and a Prismana Orb turns that into a Prismana Alpha Sherro. Alphas are also a bit bigger when they aren't Twined. 5:30
- An Alpha's core skill comes enhanced for free. Normally that takes 10 Marks of the Strong and a contracted held item. Turn on Boost Preview on the core skill to see the change. It makes Alphas future-proof as new held items release. 5:50
- Prismana-only skills work on the regular form, without the type bonus. Once you own Prismana Glacy, any Glacy can learn Glimmer Shot for free. Same-type skills get +10% (STAB), and that's lost when the skill's element doesn't match the Aniimo's. That matters for damage skills like Prismana Stellarys's Ice skills used on a regular Stellarys. 22:15
- Re-check equipped skills after evolving. An evolved form keeps its pre-evolution skills. Sherro keeps Shelly's two, but its best skill is Flowing Water Slash. 21:00
- Owning more forms buffs the whole family. Each form you own gives a permanent family-wide bonus (for example +2% Attack from a Prismana form, +1% Regen or +1% Attack from others). Evolve the forms you're missing. 21:45
- The Star-Crossed Tea Party can permanently raise innate potential. Each interaction has a 2% chance of +1 innate on a random stat, up to 4 times per Aniimo. Bring a DPS. On a single-stat unit like Somniwing, it's wasted unless it lands on Regen. 18:16
- The real top tier is the Crowned Sunglasses Perfect. 10/10 innate earns the sunglasses, and getting three stats to 20 adds the crown. You don't need the sunglasses for the crown, but getting there is very expensive. 19:08
- Ascension's Counter Boost adds +30% on element advantage. It adds +30% damage and break damage when you hit with a countering element, on top of the base +60%. 8:20
- Crit raises break damage, but Nimble is weak on most DPS. With 10% base crit rate and 50% crit damage, Nimble's +5% crit works out to about +2.38% damage, less than Practical's +4%. Take Nimble on Break units and on crit kits like Fulmintis. 17:37
- Lock your first storage box. Sorting skips locked boxes, Aniimo in them can't be lost in turn-ins, and new catches won't land in them. Keep everything you've invested in there. 9:30
- Fix floating accessories with Lock Snap Point. Go to Adjust, switch Normal to Advanced, turn on Lock Snap Point and place the accessory by hand. It's finicky and may look different to other players. 33:20
- Hide other players' marks so they stop blocking your clicks. In Settings, set Mysterious Pathfinder marks to Hidden and stranger marks displayed to 0. Friend marks are up to you. 33:50
Exploration and traversal
Tips 49 to 56. Weather, night spawns, party setup and free pickups.
- Check the weather forecast, because each weather form spawns once. You can't set the weather freely without a crystal. A weather variant spawns once per storm and doesn't respawn, though Nurture, or a very lucky Lucky Strike, can bring another. Kairos still doesn't have Thunderstorm Sherro because he ignored the forecast. 3:45
- Weather is different in each player's world. If a friend has the storm you need, ask to join their world and farm it there. 4:05
- Switch your world to night yourself. Some Aniimo only spawn at night, and the game won't change the time for you. Kairos stays on night "almost all the time" because chests glow and you can spot them from far away. 4:50
- Run a dedicated exploration party, and name your parties. Take a level-3 flyer, your starter (good in fights, and its speed boost can launch you), a Fire attacker to burn the vines that block chests, and a flex slot for Twine activities. On PC, press H to cycle parties, or hold H and press a number to jump to one. 8:00
- Set up the separate exploration menu and use Shift. The climber, flyer and swimmer slots are easy to miss. Level-3 climbers speed up with Shift, level-3 flyers dash with Shift, and level-3 swimmers can dash too. 9:00
- Collect every Lumen Amber. The final reward is unlimited stamina, and extra ambers pay out Glimmer. 8:35
- Pick up Voxel Coins and Aniipods lying around. Astra has free Voxel Coins, and spending a Star Wish Coin at the Star Wish Coin Exchange (Collect Voxel Coins) gets you hints to the ones you're missing. World Aniipods don't respawn, so grab them when you see them. 32:33 · pods
- Reach Trusted Friend to trade Aniimo. At that level, Aniimo Exchange lets you trade some exclusives. For example, a Companion Handbook owner can evolve a Wisptis into Fulmintis and gift it to a friend. 4:35
Homeland
Tips 57 to 65. Homeland is the only way to breed, and the only source of the Element Gem buffs. Wood is almost always what holds you back.
- Get Element Gems first by refreshing Home Orders. In his Homeland video Kairos says gem facilities give +5% damage and defense against every element, with another +2% he believes stacks on top. His tips video shows them per element instead (+7% Water, +2% Light). Use the 5 free refreshes, then pay coins (500, then 1,000) until the orders offer gems or wood. Seasonal orders can't be refreshed. 0:38
- Send Aniimo on trips. It's the only way to breed. They can bring back eggs of their own species, including Sparkling, Prismana and even weather forms (a Scorchhowl came back with a Thunderstorm Scorchhowl egg). Longer trips have a higher egg chance. 26:34
- Change the trip destination to farm specific flowers. Flowers depend on location and feed Element Gems. To unlock destinations, visit all four RV parks and talk to the girl there. 27:15
- Sit in a chair for about 10 seconds to turn on park buffs. You can also sit in a friend's chair at the same RV park to get their buffs. Only one set applies at a time, so agree on elements (Kairos runs Water, his friend runs Grass). 28:35
- Wood holds back nearly every RV level, so get more of it. Plant top-tier trees (tiers 1 to 4 yield 1, 8, 21 and 47 wood blocks), chop wild tree stumps, and move backpack wood to the warehouse yourself. Kairos had 96 blocks in Homeland and 1,345 in his bag. 29:30 · tiers
- Help Out at a crafting bench while you haste trees. Manage Homeland from the menu, select every tree with Batch Acceleration and use Plant Growth Tonic, then do it again after each harvest. It's the fastest route to the next RV level. 30:15
- Buy furniture from the catalog to raise your Index Score. You don't have to place anything. Buy one of each, store it, and sell it back for half the Bud Tickets. The Index rewards pay back more than you spend, and View Index shows where to buy anything you're missing. 31:20 · exploit
- Recycle the Hatchinator to keep an egg from hatching. In build mode the egg goes back to your inventory, and then you place the Hatchinator again. 31:55
- Workers need the right personality, not good stats. The matching personality (for example Playful) adds +20% work speed, and catching one is a 50/50 roll, so catch a few easy ones. You don't need Elite or Perfect workers. 32:15
Unlock every plot as soon as you can. Each unlock gives a big batch of wood blocks and mineral sand. 10:25
Economy: Glimmer, credits and shops
Tips 66 to 70. For the full spending ranking, see the shop guide.
- Turn credits into Starcryst Essence with Star Stones. The Outpost Vendor sells a Star Stone for 100,000 credits. Combine it with one of each of the 8 elemental stones (not Light) for 1 Starcryst Essence. If it says "insufficient", check Aniimo Challenge for the stone showing Owned 0 and farm that Alpha. 5:40
- Always buy discounted Tumblers at the Super Claw. They're half price there, and Tumblers are among the most valuable pods because of their 6× rate in Nurture. 0:50
- Always buy the 10 Vein Essence in the Handbook Exchange weekly shop. The shop resets each week and anything you didn't buy is gone. Buy credits there only at the end of the season. 8:15
- Spend exactly 50 Glimmer a day, on one Primegy refresh. It gives 60 Primegy. The second and third refreshes cost 100, then the price climbs to 150 and 200, so stop after one. Kairos's math puts it ahead of Capa Fruit (1,000 Glimmer), Ultras and Cubes for progression. 10:39
- Don't pick Starcryst Essence in the Premium Custom Pack. A daily Primegy refresh gets you Starcryst for about 66 Glimmer each, which is far cheaper. Buy the pack for its Sparkling Cube. 14:53
Ultras, Morph Orbs, salon cards, redesign cards and name-change cards. If you collect, the one exception is 1,500 Glimmer a week on Sparkling Crystals, which is exactly one Sparkling Cube. 0:48
