How to win more crowns in Fall Guys: movement tech, round types and how to beat the common rounds, Ranked Knockout, the Fame Pass and currencies, and Creative.

Researched September 2026 — current as of the monthly Fame Pass cycle and the Ranked Knockout Competitive Cycles; Show-Bucks pricing reflects the April 8, 2026 change. Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.

Quick Start

  • It's free on Epic. Fall Guys has been free-to-play since June 2022 and was removed from the Steam storefront then. If you already owned it on Steam you can still play through Steam; new players download it from the Epic Games Store (or on console).
  • Learn the jump-dive. Jump, then dive (Ctrl by default on PC) at the top of the arc. It carries you further than a plain jump and is the most useful move in the game.
  • Grab is a tool, not a crime. Hold Grab (Shift by default) to pull players, climb ledges and hold tails. Letting go at the right moment matters as much as grabbing.
  • In races, don't fight the pack. Take the edge lines and alternate routes instead of the crowded middle.
  • Know the round type before it starts. Race, Survival, Hunt, Logic, Team and Final rounds each have a different win condition.
  • Final rounds decide crowns. Practice the regular finals (Hex-A-Gone, Jump Showdown, Roll Off, Fall Mountain, Blast Ball and similar) in Custom or Explore modes.
  • Ranked is its own ladder. Ranked Knockout uses eight-week Competitive Cycles, resets at the end of each, and hands out Kudos, Crowns and exclusive cosmetics based on your rank.
  • The Fame Pass pays for itself. It costs 600 Show-Bucks and lets you earn up to 800 back, so if you finish it you can buy the next one.

Controls (PC defaults)

Action | Keyboard | Notes

Move | WASD | Analog control works better on a controller for tight platforms

Jump | Space | Short hop from standing, fuller jump while running

Dive | Ctrl | Commits you. Great for distance and gaps, bad near edges

Grab | Shift (hold) | Hold ledges, players, tails, and some objects (e.g. eggs, balls)

Emotes | Number keys | Emote wheel

Everything can be rebound in Settings. Many competitive players use a controller for analog movement, but keyboard works fine.

Movement Tech

  • Jump-dive: Jump, then dive at the peak for extra horizontal distance. It's the standard way to cross gaps and cover ground in races.
  • Dive recovery: After diving you're briefly on the ground. Don't dive into moving obstacles or near an edge unless you have to.
  • Ledge grab: If you come up short on a platform, hold Grab as you hit the edge to pull yourself up.
  • Grab to stop: On moving platforms and conveyors, grabbing the floor or a wall can hold your position.
  • Sliding on slopes: Diving down a slope makes you slide fast. It's great on downhills but risky near edges.
  • Momentum: Beans keep some speed through jumps. Line up your approach before you jump instead of correcting in the air.

Round Types

Type | Win condition | Core tip

Race | Qualify before the qualifier count runs out | Take wide lines, avoid the crowd, save dives for gaps

Survival | Don't be eliminated before the timer ends | Stay central, away from edges, and keep moving

Hunt | Collect points or items (tails, crowns, etc.) | Stay mobile and avoid being cornered by grabbers

Logic | Solve a puzzle (e.g. which fruit or tile is correct) | Watch carefully and stay close to your answer

Team | Your team outscores the others | Play your role: collect, defend, or disrupt

Final | Last bean standing, or first to the crown | Specific tech per final (below)

Common rounds and how to win them

Round | Type | Tip

Door Dash | Race | Watch which doors others break through and follow them. Side doors are often less crowded

Slime Climb | Race | Stay away from the rising slime at the edges and time jumps over the sweeping obstacles

Tip Toe | Race | Let others reveal the fake tiles and follow their path

Hit Parade / Gate Crash style obstacle courses | Race | Learn the timing, don't rush into closing gates

See Saw | Race | Stay on the side that tips toward the next platform and don't overload one end

Block Party | Survival | Stay in the middle of the platform and jump or duck the incoming walls

Roll Out | Survival | Walk against the rotation and move between rings early

Hoopsie Daisy | Team | Chain hoops and grab the bouncy platforms

Perfect Match | Logic | Memorize a few fruits near you rather than the whole board

Tail Tag | Hunt | Grab and dive toward tail holders. Keep running once you have a tail

Finals

  • Hex-A-Gone: Tiles vanish after you step on them. Go slowly, drop to lower layers deliberately, and "stitch" by walking over tiles in lines instead of jumping around. Jumping in place buys time.
  • Jump Showdown: Jump over the low bar and duck under the high bar by staying grounded. Platforms fall away over time, so stay near the center.
  • Fall Mountain: First to grab the crown wins. Avoid the boulders, take the side lines, and jump-dive then grab the crown at the top.
  • Blast Ball: Stay in the center, grab balls before they explode near you, and push others off.
  • Roll Off: A spinning-platform final. Stay near the center, walk against the spin and avoid the sweepers.
  • Thin Ice / Snowball-style survival finals: Stay light, don't trail other players, and use your space carefully.

The Fall Guys classic level list rotates through a Vault, and Mediatonic has been steadily unvaulting classic rounds. Which rounds are live changes with each update, so check the current shows in-game or the official news page before practicing a specific level.

Mode | What it is

Knockout | The main show. Solo elimination rounds ending in a final for a crown

Ranked Knockout | Competitive ladder (details below)

Ranked Knockout

Launched April 1, 2025.

Ranks | Sub-tiers | Demotion?

Rookie, Contender, Bronze, Silver | 3 each | No (protected ranks)

Gold, Ace, Star | 5 each | Yes

Superstar | 1 | Yes

  • You earn points based on how far you get in each Ranked Knockout match. The closer you get to the Final, the more points you earn.
  • In the upper four ranks, getting knocked out early costs points, and you can be demoted. You only drop one sub-rank at a time, never a whole tier.
  • Competitive Cycles last eight weeks. At the end of a cycle ranks reset, the level pool changes, and new challenges appear.
  • Rewards: Kudos and Crowns scale with rank. Gold or higher unlocks exclusive Ranked Emoticons. Star or Superstar earns that cycle's Supreme Idol Costume, whose design rotates each cycle.
  • 2026 Ranked cycles have been themed (for example, the New Year 2026 "Roll Call" cycle).

Ranked tips

  • Survival points add up. Consistently making mid-show rounds keeps you climbing, while going all-in and busting early loses points in high ranks.
  • Study the cycle's level pool. It changes every cycle, so practice those specific rounds in Custom or Explore.
  • Play safe in qualifying races. In races you only need to qualify, not win.

Currencies and the Fame Pass

Currency | How you get it | What it's for

Kudos | Playing, challenges, Ranked rewards | Store cosmetics

Crowns | Winning shows, Ranked rewards | Your win tally and crown-linked rewards

Show-Bucks | Real money or the Fame Pass | Premium cosmetics and Fame Pass purchases

Show-Bucks pricing from April 8, 2026:

Pack price (USD) | Show-Bucks

$8.99 | 800

$22.99 | 2,400

$36.99 | 4,500

$89.99 | 12,500

Exact-amount purchases also went up: 100 Show-Bucks now cost $1.99 and 600 cost $8.49. Purchases through the Epic Games Store or Epic's payment system still earn 20% back in Epic Rewards.

Fame Pass: The pass costs 600 Show-Bucks, lets you earn up to 800 back, and is refreshed on a roughly monthly cadence in 2026. If you play regularly, buy it once and let it fund itself.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Diving everywhere. Dives slow your recovery. Use them for gaps, finishes and slopes, not constantly.
  • Following the crowd in races. The middle line is where you get bumped and grabbed.
  • Grabbing in the wrong round. In races, grabbing slows you down too. Save it for Hunt, Team and finals.
  • Jumping on Hex-A-Gone. Big jumps use up tiles fast. Walk.
  • Spending Show-Bucks before the Fame Pass. You lose the self-funding loop.
  • Chasing Ranked early in a cycle without practicing the pool. Learn the rounds first.

Advanced Tips

  • Lag compensation matters. Leave extra margin on moving obstacles; what you see and what the server sees can differ slightly.
  • Grab-cancel: Letting go of a grab at the right moment can fling you or your target. Practice it in Custom.
  • Use Creative for drills. Community courses train jump-dive timing and specific obstacles.
  • Final positioning: In survival finals, stay near the center of what's left and let others eliminate themselves.
  • Team rounds: One defender at your goal often matters more than one more scorer.
  • Controller analog movement helps on narrow beams and Hex-A-Gone.
