A guide to playing through all nine films and hunting down everything afterwards: how the story levels and open hubs fit together, character classes and what they unlock, Kyber Bricks and upgrades, Data Cards and Extras, and an efficient 100 percent route.

Researched September 2026 — current as of the final content build (no new Skywalker Saga content updates announced; WB Games' recent Steam news is about LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight). Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.

Quick Start

  • Pick any trilogy to start. You can begin with Episode I, IV or VII. Each trilogy plays in order, but you can switch between them whenever you like.
  • Story first, collecting later. Many collectibles need characters or classes you unlock later. Play the story levels through once, then return in Free Play.
  • Kyber Bricks are the main progression currency. Spend them on core upgrades (which help everyone) and class upgrades.
  • Buy the stud multiplier Extras early. Data Cards unlock Extras such as stud multipliers. Once you have them, studs stop being a concern.
  • Studs buy characters and ships. Most of the 300+ characters are bought with studs after you unlock them.
  • Use the hub planets. 23 planets can be explored freely between levels, with side quests, puzzles and collectibles everywhere.
  • Learn the class abilities. Classes like Scavenger, Bounty Hunter and Protocol Droid open specific puzzle types. If you see an unusual panel or object, a class can use it.
  • Space matters too. You can fly between locations, join dogfights and board capital ships like the Super Star Destroyer.
  • Combat is more than mashing. Chain attacks into combos, block and counter, and use precise blaster aiming.

Structure of the Game

Part | What it is

Episodes I to IX | Nine films, each split into five story levels (45 in total)

Story mode | Play levels with the film's characters

Free Play | Replay levels with any character to reach areas you couldn't before

Hub planets | 23 planets to explore, with side missions, puzzles and collectibles

Space | Travel between locations, fight in dogfights, board capital ships

Each level has level challenges and hidden collectibles. Many challenges need Free Play.

Which trilogy should you start with?

Start with | Why

Episode I (Prequels) | Chronological order; lots of Jedi and lightsaber action early

Episode IV (Originals) | The classic story; a strong mix of blaster, Force and vehicle gameplay

Episode VII (Sequels) | The newest films; good if you're most familiar with them

There's no wrong answer. All three trilogies must eventually be played to unlock everything, and your upgrades, studs and Kyber Bricks carry across the whole game.

Collectible types at a glance

Collectible | Where | What it gives

Kyber Bricks | Levels, hubs, puzzles, side missions | Upgrades

Minikits | Hidden in story levels | Count toward level and overall completion

Data Cards | Levels and hubs | Unlock Extras for purchase

Characters | Story, hubs, side missions, then bought with studs | Playable roster

Ships | Story, space, hubs, then bought with studs | Vehicles for space travel and dogfights

Studs | Everywhere | Currency for characters, ships and Extras

Character Classes

Each class has its own abilities and matching upgrades purchased with Kyber Bricks.

Class | What it does

Jedi | Lightsaber combat and the Force; moves objects, uses Jedi-specific interactions

Hero | Tough fighters and blaster specialists on the heroic side

Dark Side | Lightsaber users with dark Force powers

Villain | Imperial/First Order-side specialists who interact with villain-only objects

Scavenger | Build contraptions and use tools to solve environmental puzzles

Scoundrel | Tricksters with unique interactions; good with blasters

Bounty Hunter | Gadgets such as tracking and grappling for special objects

Astromech Droid | Access droid panels and move through droid-only spaces

Protocol Droid | Access protocol terminals and translate

Tip: when you see an object you can't interact with, the class-swap wheel usually hints at which class it needs. Note the spot and come back in Free Play.

Kyber Bricks and Upgrades

  • Kyber Bricks are found by exploring hub planets, completing puzzles and side missions, and finishing level challenges.
  • They're spent on upgrades: core upgrades affect all characters, and class upgrades improve a single class.
  • Good early core picks: upgrades that increase stud collection or make studs easier to gather, and upgrades that reveal collectibles in the world, if available.
  • Good early class picks: Jedi and Hero upgrades (you use them most), then the classes you need for puzzles.

Data Cards and Extras

  • Data Cards are hidden in levels and hubs. Collecting them unlocks Extras you can buy with studs.
  • Extras include cosmetic options and powerful helpers such as stud multipliers.
  • Buy multipliers as soon as they're available; they speed up everything else. Activate them from the Extras menu.

Combat and Controls Basics

  • Combos: string light and heavy attacks together, with finishers against tougher enemies.
  • Block and counter: time your block to open up attackers.
  • Blasters: use the over-the-shoulder aim for precision shots instead of relying on auto-aim.
  • Force: as a Jedi or Dark Side user, use Force abilities to throw enemies and move objects.
  • Vehicles: 100+ vehicles, including starfighters for dogfights. Capital ships can be attacked, then boarded and explored.

Efficient 100 Percent Route

  • Play all 45 story levels in whatever order you enjoy. This unlocks most characters and classes.
  • Buy stud multipliers as soon as you get the relevant Data Cards.
  • Free Play each level with a mix of classes to finish level challenges and collectibles.
  • Clear each hub planet one at a time: side missions, puzzles and Kyber Bricks.
  • Space areas: complete dogfights and capital ship boarding for their rewards.
  • Buy remaining characters and ships with studs.
  • Mop up by using collectible-revealing upgrades and in-game tracking to find what's left.

Hub efficiency tips

  • Do side missions as they appear. They often reward Kyber Bricks and characters.
  • Use fast travel within a planet to cut walking time.
  • Check each area on the map for remaining collectibles before moving to the next planet.

Stud Farming

Studs matter most in the mid-game, when you want to buy characters, ships and Extras all at once.

  • Multipliers first. Every multiplier you own stacks with the others, so each new one increases the value of all your future studs.
  • Destroy everything. Breakable LEGO objects drop studs, and replaying a level resets them.
  • Replay a favourite level. Once multipliers are active, a dense story level in Free Play is a quick stud run.
  • Stud-related core upgrades make pickups easier and increase what you get; buy them with your first Kyber Bricks.
  • Don't buy every character immediately. Prioritise characters that give you a class you don't have yet.

Solving Puzzles Faster

Most hub and level puzzles follow a few patterns:

  • Unusual panels and terminals: usually a droid class (Astromech or Protocol).
  • Loose parts and piles of bricks: build them; some builds need a Scavenger.
  • Out-of-reach objects: Force users or gadget classes like the Bounty Hunter.
  • Villain-only or hero-only interactions: switch to the matching faction class.
  • Shiny or cracked objects: try a heavy attack or an explosive.

If a puzzle stumps you in story mode, don't sink time into it. Most can't be solved until Free Play.

DLC and Editions

Content | Released | Notes

Character Collection 1 | April 5, 2022 (launch) | Seven character packs

Character Collection 2 | November 2022 | Six more character packs, released across the month

Galactic Edition | November 1, 2022 | Base game plus both Character Collections

Luke Starkiller | May 4, 2023 | A free character DLC

Digital edition bonus | Launch | The digital edition includes an exclusive classic Obi-Wan Kenobi

The DLC packs add characters to the roster, not new story levels. With them, the playable roster reaches about 380. They aren't needed to finish the nine films, so buy them only if you want those characters.

The game was patched after launch, so if an older guide's collectible totals don't match yours, trust the in-game counters.

Settings and Technical Tips

  • Controller recommended: the game is designed around a gamepad, though keyboard and mouse are supported.
  • Split-screen co-op shares the screen; turning down resolution or effects helps if frame rate drops.
  • Subtitles and camera options are in the settings menu; adjust camera sensitivity early, especially for flying.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Trying to 100 percent levels on the first run. Many collectibles need characters you don't have yet.
  • Ignoring stud multipliers. Without them, buying characters takes much longer.
  • Spreading Kyber Bricks too thinly. Core upgrades that help everyone come first.
  • Forgetting space. Capital ships and dogfights have their own rewards.
  • Only playing Jedi. Other classes open puzzles you'll need for completion.
  • Button-mashing combat. Blocking and countering keeps tough enemies manageable.

Advanced Tips

  • Swap characters freely. Party switching is instant; keep a flexible team in Free Play.
  • Use combo finishers on shielded or armored enemies.
  • Board capital ships for extra rewards while travelling.
  • Treat side missions as Kyber sources. They add up quickly.
  • Check upgrades after every planet. New Kyber Bricks may unlock a new tier you forgot about.
  • Play co-op with a friend locally; a second player makes collecting in hubs faster.
