How to win more brawls in Party Animals: core fighting mechanics, stamina and knockouts, every major mode (including Crisis, Nemo Kart, and Kung Fu Soccer), currencies, and the 3rd Anniversary event.
Researched September 2026 — current as of Patch 1.17.1.0 (September 24, 2026) and the "3rd Anniversary Party" event. Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.
Quick Start
- Knocking players out of the arena wins rounds. Health matters less than position. A knocked-out animal carried to the edge and thrown off is eliminated.
- Grab is the most important action. Grabbing lets you carry, throw, and climb. It drains stamina, so don't hold it forever.
- Watch your stamina. Sprinting, grabbing, and climbing all cost stamina. When it's empty you drop whatever you're holding, including the ledge you're hanging from.
- Knocked out isn't eliminated. You wake up after a short time; the moment you do, move away from the edge.
- Weapons are strong but temporary. Pick them up, use them, and throw them when they run out or when you need your hands.
- Team modes reward focus. Two players grabbing one enemy beats two separate 1v1s.
- Custom Games and What If? rules are the best way to practice with friends.
- Log in during events. Anniversary and holiday events hand out Nemo Bucks, outfits, and pass rewards just for playing.
Controls and Actions
Party Animals supports keyboard and mouse and controllers (with haptic feedback options). Check Settings > Controls for your exact bindings; the core actions are:
Action | What it does
Punch | Basic attack; charge it for a stronger hit that knocks out faster
Grab | Hold onto players, objects, and ledges; needed to carry and throw
Jump | Dodge, climb, and set up aerial attacks
Dropkick | Jump plus attack; a big knockback hit
Headbutt | Close-range stun attack
Crouch / Lie down | Lowers your profile; useful for dodging and some emotes
Sprint | Faster movement at stamina cost
Throw | Release a grabbed player or object with force
How knockouts work
- Every hit fills a hidden knockout meter. Charged punches, dropkicks, headbutts, and weapons fill it faster.
- Once knocked out, you're limp for a short time; opponents can grab and carry you.
- Wake-up speed is a tuned value; the Beast Soccer Tournament toggle in Custom Games greatly increases it for competitive soccer, which tells you how much time a normal knockout buys the attacker.
- Hazards and falls eliminate you. Water, spikes, trains, and map edges all count.
Combat Fundamentals
The grab-and-throw loop
- Stun the enemy (charged punch, dropkick, or headbutt).
- Grab them while they're knocked out.
- Walk to the nearest edge or hazard.
- Throw.
If they wake up while you're carrying them, they'll start fighting back. Carry them the shortest possible distance.
Stamina management
- Grabbing drains stamina. Release early if you won't reach the edge.
- Climbing drains stamina. If you're hanging off a ledge, climb immediately rather than waiting.
- Sprint in short bursts. Arrive at a fight with stamina left, or you'll lose the grab war.
Ledge fights
- If you're grabbed near an edge, grab the enemy back or grab the floor/ledge to avoid being thrown.
- If someone is hanging on a ledge, punch their hands or headbutt them to knock them loose.
Weapons
Weapons range from melee (bats, pans, and similar) to ranged (guns, projectiles) and explosives. Most have limited uses. Priorities:
- Ranged weapons for picking off players near edges.
- Explosives for groups.
- Drop or throw a weapon once it's empty so your hands are free for grabbing.

The Lab | Two teams of four in elimination rounds | Focus-fire one enemy at a time
Custom Games | Private lobbies with configurable rules | Great for practice and friend parties
What If? | Custom rule mutators; several selectable rules per game | Returns to Quick Match for limited windows (most recently until June 18, 2026)

Fairy Catcher | Limited-time collection event | Returns for the 3rd Anniversary
Crisis Mode
Crisis is Party Animals' social-deduction mode: most players are Goodies trying to survive and find the killers, while hidden roles try to eliminate them.
Roles named in recent patch notes include:
- Radar (Goodie, new in 1.17): scans and reveals all surviving players' locations for a time.
- Bomb Killer (new in 1.17): secretly passes bombs; players killed by the explosion can't be reported.
- Forensic: learns information about the killer when someone reports a body.
- Avenger (Goodie): has a skill with extended effective range.
- Berserk Killer: shorter kill cooldown, but must keep killing to survive.
- Hakkar: can use vents and wins after infecting all players; its infection cooldown grows as fewer players remain alive.
Neutral roles also exist, so not every non-Goodie is a killer.
New map (1.17): Desert Crisis. Sandstorms sweep the town and a ritual circle in Deadwood Park adds a timed threat. Cooperate to clear the sands.
Crisis tips:
- Report bodies quickly, but watch who is standing nearby.
- As a killer, avoid being last-seen with the victim; use vents and bombs when available.
- Don't reveal your Goodie role too early if it makes you a target.
Nemo Kart
Version 1.16 (July 2026) added Kart Modification and Vehicle Research, letting you research vehicles and install parts. Three tracks were added: Cast-A-Way, Rock N Roar, and Sky Ruins, plus vehicles like the ATV, Rockcycle, and UFO.
Tips: research parts that improve acceleration first for twisty tracks; hug the inside line; save boosts for straights.
Maps to Know
Party Animals' brawl maps rotate in Quick Match. Names that come up constantly include Beat-Up Bridge, Ice Breaker, Final Destination, Ring of Garfat, and Luggage Chaos.
General map rules:
- Moving hazards (trains, trucks, crushers) are your best friend. Knock enemies into them.
- Breakable floors (ice, crates) change the arena; stay away from cracking areas.
- Weapon spawns are usually central; controlling the middle gives you the first weapon.
The Cabin social spaces change with the seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter). The Autumn Cabin returned in 1.17 with a meteor shower and Meteor Fish to catch; there's fishing, board games, and the Aquarium to hang out in.
Progression and Currencies
Currency | How you get it | Used for
Nemo Bucks | Premium currency; also from events (e.g., 50 per day during the 3rd Anniversary login event) | Outfits and premium items
Cookies | Earned through play | Many rotating outfits in the Item Shop
Egg Coins | Event-specific | Event rewards
- Animal Level rises with XP from matches, with a daily level-up limit. Players at very high levels (Animal Level 150) had an issue contributing to the event pass that was fixed in 1.17.1.0.
- The Locker holds outfits; the Garage holds kart customization. Shortcuts to both were added to the Quick Match pre-lobby screen in 1.16.4.0.
Current Event: 3rd Anniversary (September–November 2026)
- 3rd Anniversary Party event pass: XP from Quick Match or Custom Games counts toward both "My Progress" and "Community Progress"; reaching the same milestone in both unlocks rewards. Runs until 8 PM PST on November 15, 2026.
- Fairy Catcher returns with new fairies, same end date.
- Daily login: 50 Nemo Bucks per day from September 19 to 26, 2026 (now ended).
- Justice Series outfits in the Item Shop from October 1 to 15, 2026 (PT).
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Chasing kills in the middle of the map. Knockouts only matter if you finish them at an edge or hazard.
- Holding grab until your stamina hits zero. You'll drop the enemy and be defenseless.
- Fighting near edges when you're low on stamina. You can't climb back up.
- Ignoring teammates in team modes. Two-on-one wins.
- Using third-party macro software. The developers ban accounts for macros, including some third-party controller software with macro features.
- Picking up every weapon. Sometimes empty hands (for grabbing) are better.
Advanced Tips
- Third-party fights: wait for two players to exhaust stamina, then dive in.
- Throw objects to interrupt grabs. A thrown crate or weapon can free a teammate.
- Dropkick off ledges: a jumping dropkick can knock someone off an edge even if you fall too, but only do it when you're ahead.
- Keep pressure on waking enemies: a player who just woke up is usually low on options; hit them again before they reach safety.
- Use the Beast Soccer Tournament toggle in Custom Games for competitive soccer scrims (faster wake-ups, higher grab stamina costs).
- Report cheaters through the in-game or website reporting tools with video evidence.
