This guide covers Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PC: Venom and Camouflage combat, which skills and gadgets to get first, how to clear every district and collectible for 100%, New Game+, and the PC settings that matter.
Researched September 2026 — current as of PC patch v4.630.0.0 (July 2026, DualSense Edge support and FSR "Redstone" frame generation). Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.
Quick Start
- Venom is your damage button. Venom attacks run on the Venom meter, which fills as you fight well (hitting, dodging, combos). Spend it. The Overcharge achievement asks for 100 Venom kills.
- Camouflage turns fights back into stealth. Going invisible makes enemies lose track of you. You can use it mid-fight to reset, and in stealth to set up takedowns. Invisible Spider is 50 kills while camouflaged.
- Dodge first, punch second. The Spider-Sense indicator warns of incoming hits. Perfect dodges, and staying out of melee against gunners, matter more than raw combo speed.
- Gadgets change fights. The Remote Mine, Holo-Drone and Gravity Well each fix a different problem: turrets and snipers, crowds, and big groups.
- Do the FNSM app requests and district activities as you go. They pay out the Activity Tokens and Tech Parts you need for suits, mods and gadget upgrades.
- Stealth-clear enemy bases. The Never Saw It Coming achievement is for an undetected base, and stealth is often faster anyway.
- Buy suits early for their mods. Suits are mostly cosmetic, but their suit mods and visor mods give real bonuses.
- There's no missable content. After the credits you can keep playing in free roam and clean up everything.
Core Systems
Traversal
Web-swinging, web-zipping to points, wall runs, dives and point launches make up Miles's movement. Chain a point launch into a swing, then into a dive, to keep your speed up. There's an achievement for it (Launch, Swing and Dive). Fast travel through subway stations becomes available as you progress, and the PC patches added an option to skip the fast travel animation.
Combat
Tool | What it does | When to use it
Basic combo | Builds combo count and Venom | Always
Web Shooter | Webs enemies to walls and floors, and interrupts | Gunners and runners
Venom Punch / Venom Jump / Venom Dash / Venom Smash | Venom-powered attacks that stun, launch or hit groups | Heavy enemies and crowds
Mega Venom Blast | Large bio-electric explosion around Miles | Emergency button when surrounded
Camouflage | Invisibility | Resetting fights, escaping gunners, stealth
Remote Mine | Webbed mine that detonates | Snipers, turrets, stationary groups
Holo-Drone | Summons a holographic fighter | Draws attention while you work
Gravity Well | Pulls groups together and stuns them | Clearing big groups fast
Combo tips:
- Up and Over: a Venom Jump then a Venom Dash on the same enemy. It's a useful juggle.
- From Downtown: Venom Dash an enemy into a group of three or more.
- Keep your combo alive by alternating dodges and hits. 100x Combo!!! comes naturally in big fights if you avoid getting hit.
Stealth
Stealth works through perches, ceiling takedowns, wall takedowns and web-strikes. Tagging enemies in stealth shows who is isolated. Only take down enemies other guards can't see. Camouflage lets you take down a target right in front of their friends. Achievements track 100 stealth takedowns (Nowhere to Hide), 25 ceiling takedowns (From the Rafters) and 25 wall takedowns (Climbing the Walls).
Skills, Gear and Currencies
- Skills unlock with XP levels. There are separate groups for combat, Venom and Camouflage. Just the Beginning is for unlocking every skill, which usually takes NG+ or full completion.
- Activity Tokens come from activities, crimes, FNSM requests and bases. Tech Parts come from Underground Caches, challenges and some activities. Both pay for suits, mods and gadget upgrades.
- Suit mods and visor mods give passive bonuses like damage, Venom gain or stealth utility. Crafting one of each unlocks Mod that Suit and Look with Better Eyes, and 10 upgrades unlocks Kitbash.
- Suits: Buying every suit is Ready for Anything. Unlocks include the Classic Suit, the 2020 Suit, the Into the Spider-Verse Suit, the Bodega Cat Suit (yes, the cat is on your back), the Winter Suit and the Programmable Matter Suit, among others.
Story Outline (Spoiler-Light)
- Opening: Miles and Peter against Rhino in the streets. Then Peter leaves for a trip and Miles is left to protect New York on his own.
- The conflict: The Roxxon Energy corporation, run by Simon Krieger, clashes with the Underground, a high-tech gang led by the Tinkerer. Miles is caught between the two, along with people close to him, including his uncle Aaron Davis (the Prowler).
- Mid-game: Villains from Spider-Man's past show up. Expect set pieces like the Rhino chase through a shopping mall (Like a Rhino in a China Shop is smashing 15 breakable objects during that sequence).
- Endgame: A climactic battle over Harlem, then a clean-up epilogue. Scroll through the whole Social Feed after the story for Socially Acceptable.
Nothing blocks 100% completion, so you can do side content before or after the credits.
Open World Checklist

FNSM app requests | Five Star Review (all) | Requests unlock over time as the story moves on
Crimes | Crime Master (all bonus objectives for every crime type) | Check the bonus objective before the fight starts
Enemy Bases | Never Saw It Coming (one undetected) | Clear perimeter guards first with web-strikes
Underground Caches | Salvager (all) | Tech Parts. Some need a small puzzle or fight
Time Capsules | Urban Explorers (all) | Tied to Miles's childhood. Scan areas to find them
Postcards | Memory Lane (all) | Scattered around Manhattan
Sound Samples | Counts toward district completion | Collected for a music-making side story. Follow the scan prompts
Spider-Training | Spider-Training: Complete | Peter's holographic challenges. Aim for top medals for the rewards
District completion | A New Home (100% every district) | Use the map filters to see what each district is missing
Easter eggs | Best Fries in Town, Never Give Up, I'm on a Boat | Visit the landmark in the Upper West Side, Jefferson Davis's grave in Harlem, and the derelict boat in southern Chinatown
Photo Mode | JJJ Would Be Proud | Apply a sticker and change the lighting in Photo Mode
New Game+ | Plus Plus | Finish a second run on New Game+
Difficulty and New Game+
The standard difficulties go from a story-friendly option up to a tougher one. New Game+ unlocks after the credits. It carries over your suits, gadgets and skills and adds more challenge, and finishing it gets you Plus Plus. If you want all the skills and suits, NG+ is the easy way to reach the XP and tokens you need.
PC Settings and Performance
- Upscaling: DLSS 2/3 (NVIDIA), FSR (the July 2026 patch updated it to 3.1.4 with ML frame generation support on Radeon RX 9000 series GPUs running driver 25.12.1 or later) and Intel XeSS, plus IGTI. You can pair FSR frame generation with any upscaler.
- Native AA: Set Upscaling to Off, then pick the FSR or XeSS Native AA mode for sharp anti-aliasing without upscaling.
- Ray tracing: Reflections and shadows. Reflections cost the most CPU in dense Harlem streets. Drop crowd density if you're CPU-limited.
- Controllers: DualSense haptics and adaptive triggers need a wired USB connection. The July 2026 patch improved DualSense Edge support.
- First launch: The game builds a shader cache after you install it or update your GPU driver. A black screen at first boot can be that build running. Let it finish.
- Rollback: If a patch breaks something, open Steam Properties > Betas and choose Previous_Version.
- Ultrawide: 21:9, 32:9 and 48:9 (triple monitor) are supported.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Fighting brutes without Venom. Heavy enemies shrug off normal hits. Spend Venom or use gadgets on them.
- Standing still near gunners. Snipers and rocket users punish a static Miles. Web them or stay in the air.
- Hoarding gadgets. Ammo refills over time. Use gadgets every fight.
- Skipping suit mods. Mods are where suits give real stats. Craft them as soon as tokens allow.
- Chasing 100% too early. Some activities and requests only appear as the story progresses. Clear what's on the map, then push the story.
- Fixing the black screen by force-closing. On first launch it's usually the shader cache building.
Advanced Tips
- Camouflage mid-combo: Go invisible, then use a Venom attack. Enemies lose track of you and big groups become manageable on high difficulty.
- Gravity Well into Mega Venom Blast: Pull a crowd together, then blast it.
- Base stealth order: Snipers and isolated guards first, then ceiling or wall takedowns, and save groups for Camouflage takedowns at the end.
- Crime bonus objectives: Read the bonus before starting. Many ask for a specific approach, like using a gadget or finishing a certain way.
- Holo-Drone on turrets and heavies while you deal with the gunners.
- Traversal speed: Hold momentum with dive-to-swing transitions instead of landing and running.
FAQ
How long is Miles Morales? It's a compact story, much shorter than the 2018 game. Full completion takes a lot longer than the main path, but it's still far from a huge open world.
Do I need to play Spider-Man Remastered first? It helps, because Miles Morales follows it directly, but it isn't required. The game catches you up.
Is there New Game+? Yes. It unlocks after the credits, and there's an achievement for finishing it.
Can I miss collectibles? No. Everything is available in free roam after the ending.
Why does my DualSense not have haptics on PC? Haptics and speaker features need a wired USB connection. Adaptive triggers also work through Steam Input.
What does the July 2026 PC patch change? Version 4.630.0.0 improved DualSense Edge support, updated FSR to 3.1.4 with ML frame generation compatibility, and fixed DLSS Frame Generation sometimes disappearing from the menu.
How do I roll back a bad patch? In Steam, open Properties > Betas and choose Previous_Version.
