Everything you need to win more Battle Royale matches in Chapter 7 Season 4 (Override): the core loop, the new Override systems (Match Overrides, Loot Hacks, Sprites, Cheat Codes), bosses and mythics, building vs Zero Build, and ranked tips.

Researched September 2026 — current as of Chapter 7 Season 4: Override (v42.x, launched August 20, 2026; Battle Pass scheduled to end November 1, 2026). Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.

Quick Start

  • The season is Override. Geno has taken over the Zero Point and split the island into retro-game "dimensions." Expect collab POIs (Sonic's Green Hill Zone), game-themed items (Mega Buster, Tetris Rift) and match-wide rule changes.
  • Claim Override Consoles. Every match has consoles that change the rules for the whole server (Sonic Speed, Extra Life, Constant Heal, Overshield, etc.). Rare/Mythic Squad Overrides only buff your squad but reveal your location.
  • Set up Loot Hacks before you queue. Spend Sprite Dust in the Override tab of the lobby to bias your own chests toward items you like. The lineup rotates about every two weeks, and resets refund your dust.
  • Redeem the Lobby Hack codes. The Admin Panel codes ABGESTAUBT, PERLIMPINPIN, CHISPAMBO and MAGILUME gave 2,000 Sprite Dust each at launch (8,000 total). Codes can be retired, so try them early.
  • Collect and extract Sprites. Find Cheat Codes on the island, gather Sprites, and bank them at Extraction Sites. New Sprites join your collection; duplicates convert into Sprite Dust.
  • Two bosses, two mythic sources. Dr. Eggman patrols Green Hill Zone; Hush is found at Reality's Reign. Both drop mythic gear plus a 1-Up Token.
  • Pick a mode that fits you. Build (classic), Zero Build (no building, regenerating overshield), Reload (smaller lobbies with respawns) and Ranked versions of each.
  • Sprites are vaulted in Ranked BR (as of the August 28 update) while Epic evaluates them, so do not rely on Sprite abilities in ranked matches.
  • Fight at the edge, not in the middle of the storm. Rotating early and holding high ground or hard cover wins more endgames than raw aim.

The Core Loop

Phase | What to do

Bus + drop | Mark a spot before the bus leaves. Drop off-path for safer loot, on-path (or at a boss POI) for early fights.

Early game | Loot a weapon, a heal and shields. In Build, farm about 500 of each material if you can.

Mid game | Grab an Override Console, open chests (your Loot Hacks apply), extract Sprites, upgrade to mythics.

Rotation | Move before the storm closes. Take vehicles or mobility items; keep a heal slot free.

Endgame | Secure cover in the next circle early, third-party fights you did not start, keep shields topped.

Health, shields and healing

  • You have 100 HP and up to 100 shield. Splash items like Chug Splash heal both and can be thrown on teammates.
  • 1-Up Token respawns you with your full inventory after you are eliminated — hold onto it for endgames.
  • Tetris Rift spawns Tetris blocks; completing a four-line clear creates an area heal.
  • In Zero Build, you get a regenerating overshield that absorbs damage before normal shields.

Loot rarity

Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, then Mythic and Exotic. Mythics come from bosses, maxed Loot Hacks and some special spots; Exotics are purchased or found through NPC-style mechanics when available.

Default PC keybinds (Build mode)

Action | Key

Move / Jump / Sprint / Crouch | W A S D / Space / Left Shift / Left Ctrl

Harvesting Tool (pickaxe) | 1

Weapon slots 1-5 | 2-6

Toggle build mode | Q

Wall / Floor / Stairs / Roof | F1 / F2 / F3 / F4

Edit | G

Interact / Reload | E / R

Map / Inventory | M / Tab

Most competitive players rebind build pieces to keys near WASD (e.g. Q, E, C, Mouse 4/5). Check Settings then Keyboard Controls; binds vary between Build and Zero Build profiles.

Override Systems Explained

Match Overrides

Override Consoles appear every match. Capturing one changes a rule for everyone on the server (or, for Squad Overrides, just your team). Effects reported at launch:

Override | Effect

Sonic Speed | Faster movement

More XP | Increased XP gain

Loot Hack / Big Loot | Better loot

Extra Life | Respawn chance

Big Fish | Fishing-focused bonus

Constant Heal | Passive regeneration

Infinite Stamina | No sprint stamina drain

Headshot | Boosted headshot damage

Overshield | Extra shield layer

Speed Shooter | Faster fire rate

Power Pickaxe | Stronger pickaxe

Tip: Squad Overrides broadcast your position. Only take one if your team is ready to fight whoever comes to check it.

Loot Hacks and Sprite Dust

  • Open the Override tab at the top of the lobby, choose an item from the Loot Hacks list and press Unlock.
  • Unlocked items have a chance to appear in your chests. Upgrading a hack increases both drop frequency and the highest rarity it can reach.
  • Maxing certain hacks unlocks mythic versions — the Oni Shotgun and Minigun mythics were obtainable this way at launch.
  • The available hacks rotate roughly every two weeks. When a rotation happens, your upgrades are cleared and your Sprite Dust is refunded in full, so do not be afraid to spend.
  • You can reset upgrades at any time for a full refund.
  • Sprite Dust was wiped for everyone at the start of Override (including players at the 250,000 cap). This was intentional.

Sprites

Sprites are companion powers. Launch Sprites for Override:

Sprite | What it does

Sonic | Sprint speed boost

Tails | Hover

Shadow | Reloads your weapons over time

Klombo | Random item rewards when you use health/shield consumables

Jackrabbit | Extra mid-air jump

8-Bit | Shotgun placement with a score multiplier

Crown | Bonus wins after a Victory Royale

Adventure | Random inventory upgrades

Bush | Periodically creates a bush to hide in

Jonesy | Restores health/shield after you take damage

Killswitch | Improved accuracy while airborne

Five community-designed Sprites (Bullet, Dumpster Dive, Honey, Pond, X-Ray) were announced for mid-season. The Sprite Garden lets you display your collection and visit friends' gardens.

Best general picks: Shadow (auto reload is strong in every fight), Jonesy (sustain), Sonic or Jackrabbit (rotation and escapes).

Cheat Codes and Lobby Hacks

  • Cheat Codes are hidden on the island; activating them unlocks Sprite allies during the match. The Cheat Code Locator gizmo helps find them.
  • Lobby Hacks are codes typed into the Admin Panel in the lobby for XP, Sprite Dust and rare Sprite variants.

Weapons and Items (Override loot pool)

New this season

Item | Notes

Sonic Power Sneakers | Spin Dash on the ground, Spin Attack in the air. Mythic or Epic from Dr. Eggman. Huge mobility.

Mega Buster | Mega Man's arm cannon with variable-charge shots; you can sprint while using it.

8-Bit Shotgun | Automatic shotgun with cartridge reloads and a combo multiplier. Was temporarily vaulted after launch.

Midas' Masterpiece | Limited-ammo golden pistol that can eliminate with a single headshot. From Dr. Eggman or fishing spots.

Tetris Rift | Place blocks; a four-line clear creates an area heal.

1-Up Token | Respawn with full inventory after elimination.

God Mode Llama | Turns you into an unstoppable wrecking ball for a short time.

New gizmos/consumables: Cheat Code Locator, Extraction Accelerator, Llama Supply Drop, Spicy Taco.

Returning

Pump Shotgun, Assault Rifle, Ranger Assault Rifle, Drum Gun, Minigun, Tactical Pistol, Dual Pistols, Oni Shotgun, Flare Gun, Bass Boost, Overdrive Grenade, Chug Splash.

A reliable loadout

Slot | Pick

1 | Pump Shotgun or Oni Shotgun (close range)

2 | Assault Rifle / Ranger AR / Enhanced AR (mid range)

3 | Drum Gun or Dual Pistols (spray follow-up), or Midas' Masterpiece if you hit headshots

4 | Mobility: Sonic Power Sneakers, or a second weapon in Zero Build

5 | Heals: Chug Splash, or save a 1-Up Token

Weapon balance changes with every hotfix — if a gun suddenly feels weak, check the latest update notes.

Bosses and Mythics

Boss | Where | Drops

Dr. Eggman | Patrols Green Hill Zone | Sonic Power Sneakers (Mythic or Epic), Midas' Masterpiece, 1-Up Token

Hush | Reality's Reign (some trackers also list a second spawn; check the in-game map) | Enhanced Assault Rifle (Mythic), 1-Up Token

  • Eggman: aim for the head, keep distance from his area attack and strafe his projectiles.
  • Hush: described as one of the easier bosses; uses an Assault Rifle and a Tetris Rift, so break line of sight when he heals.
  • Other mythic routes: max the Oni Shotgun or Minigun Loot Hacks; Midas' Masterpiece also comes from fishing spots.
  • Epic adds and rotates mythics during the season, so treat this table as a launch snapshot.

Map and Landing Spots

New POIs this season:

  • Green Hill Zone — Sonic's world with loops built for speed. Boss drop plus high traffic.
  • Reality's Reign — tech complex full of pipes and machinery; possible Hush spawn.
  • Stone Sanctum — ancient-themed area on the southern part of the island.
  • The Spire was redesigned as the central focal point, surrounded by pink trees.

Landing advice:

  • Want fights and mythics: Green Hill Zone or Reality's Reign.
  • Want a safe start: pick a named spot far from the bus path and move toward the first circle with materials and shields.
  • Ranked: land where you know chest spawns and have a rotation out; consistency beats hot drops.

Build vs Zero Build

Build | Zero Build

Defense | Walls/ramps on demand | Natural cover, overshield

Skill focus | Box fighting, edits, height | Positioning, mobility, aim

Materials | Farm wood/stone/metal | None needed

Best for | Mechanically invested players | Newer players, casual squads

Build fundamentals: turn and wall when shot, "90s" to gain height, edit a window to peek then close it, always keep materials for the endgame.

Zero Build fundamentals: never cross open ground without a plan, use mobility (Sneakers, vehicles, Sprites) to reposition, and let the overshield regen before re-peeking.

Ranked

  • Ranked exists for Build and Zero Build (plus Reload variants). Placement and eliminations both count; placement matters more as you climb.
  • Season 4 ranked rewards: Gold (Phantom Spray), Platinum (Override Counter Back Bling), Diamond (Beastly Battle Bus Loading Screen), Elite (The Hack 'n Slasher Pickaxe), Champion (Overridden Wrap), Unreal (The Unrealizer Pickaxe).
  • Sprites are vaulted in Ranked BR as of the August 28 update.
  • Play for placement until mid game, take fights you can finish, and avoid Squad Overrides that reveal you in ranked unless you are confident.

Battle Pass and Progression

  • Season 4 Battle Pass outfits: Sonic the Hedgehog (instant unlock, with the Tails Sidekick), Bastian, Grace Crowne, K1ttyW1ns, Wrixel, Mali, Phantom and Geno.
  • Gifting the pass gives both players the Peril Peak Mali outfit (per launch info).
  • Fastest XP: daily/weekly quests in the redesigned Quests tab, the More XP Override, Lobby Hack XP codes, and XP-enabled Creative/LEGO/Festival time.
  • The pass costs V-Bucks and pays back V-Bucks as you level; buying one pass per season and finishing it keeps you self-funding.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Ignoring Loot Hacks. Unspent Sprite Dust is wasted value; rotations refund it anyway.
  • Taking a Squad Override without a plan. It announces your location.
  • Holding the 1-Up Token as a trade item. Keep it for the endgame when respawning matters most.
  • Chasing both bosses in one match. Kill one, loot, rotate. Boss POIs attract every squad.
  • Late rotations. Storm damage stacks late; moving early lets you choose your fights.
  • Healing in the open. Break line of sight or build/cover first.
  • Relying on Sprites in Ranked. They are vaulted there.

Advanced Tips

  • Loot Hack stacking: focus your hacks on a full loadout (shotgun, AR, spray weapon, mobility, heal) so every chest has a shot at something useful.
  • Shadow Sprite plus a slow-reload weapon (Drum Gun, Minigun) removes your weakest moment in a fight.
  • Sneakers Spin Dash is a rotation tool first, damage tool second. Use it to escape storm or cross open fields.
  • Midas' Masterpiece rewards headshots; if you are not landing them, swap for a reliable pistol or AR.
  • Third-party timing: wait for one team to crack or heal, then push. The loudest fight on the map is a free elimination.
  • Endgame in Build: pre-place a protected box before the circle closes; in Zero Build, claim a hard cover spot in the next zone early.
  • Controller players: the new Tweak Zone setting puts tiny stick movements that your dead zone would normally filter out to work, for finer aim; test it in Creative before Ranked.

FAQ

When does Chapter 7 Season 4 end? The Battle Pass is scheduled to end November 1, 2026 (some trackers list October 31 depending on time zone). Epic often extends or shifts dates, so check the in-game timer.

How do I get Sprite Dust fast? Redeem the Lobby Hack codes in the Admin Panel, then extract duplicate Sprites at Extraction Sites during matches.

Where is Dr. Eggman? He patrols Green Hill Zone and drops the Sonic Power Sneakers, Midas' Masterpiece and a 1-Up Token.

Where does Hush spawn? At Reality's Reign (boss guides list it as his home POI; check the in-game map, since Epic sometimes adds spawns mid-season). He drops the Mythic Enhanced Assault Rifle and a 1-Up Token.

Why did my Sprite Dust reset? It was intentionally wiped when Override launched. Separately, Loot Hack rotations clear upgrades but refund your dust.

Can I use Sprites in Ranked? Not as of the August 28 update — they were vaulted in Ranked Battle Royale.

How do I unlock Sonic? He is an instant unlock with the Season 4 Battle Pass.
