Lightning has two S-tier pillars, Fulmintis and Besauce, plus the deepest support bench of any element. Here is the best build for every Lightning Aniimo, the Fulmintis break-window rotation, and the crit and debuff stacking that makes the team hit so hard.

Lightning at a glance

Lightning is one of the strongest elements in Update 1.1. Fulmintis and Besauce are S in Game8 and SS in GameWith, and Game8 ranks the Lightning team third of all its team comps. The catch: three elements resist it, so you need a backup team for Earth and Ice.

Water Wind

Ice Lightning Earth

Ice Dark. It resists Wind, Lightning and Light.

Wind is the matchup to look for: Lightning hits it for 1.6× and takes only 0.625× back. Against Ice, it's the reverse, so never bring this team to an Ice shield.

Every Lightning Aniimo, ranked

All final forms whose primary element is Lightning, plus the Lightning Prismana forms. Ranked by Game8's overall tier (Oct 6), with GameWith (Oct 14) where it has one.

Game8 | Aniimo | Type | Role | GameWith | Note

S | Fulmintis | Lightning | DPS | SS | Season 1 Handbook unit

S | Besauce | Lightning | Regen | SS | Fits any team

A | Fenmane | Lightning | DPS | S | S in Game8's DPS ranking

A | Dazmand | Lightning | Support | S+ | Event unit, ended Oct 8

A | Blazen | Lightning | Break | A+ | The only Lightning breaker

A | Luminelle | Lightning | Support | A | Team Lightning buffs

A | Prismana Fulmintis | Lightning / Light | DPS | n/a | Paid Handbook Lv 20

A | Prismana Blazen | Dark / Lightning | Break | n/a | Adds Dark Claw (Silence)

A | Prismana Fenmane | Light / Lightning | DPS | n/a | Adds Radiant Dart (anti-heal)

A | Thunderstorm Sherro | Lightning / Water | DPS | n/a | Plays as a Water DPS

B | Prismana Luminelle | Light / Lightning | Support | S | Adds a cleanse beam

Game8 also ranks Thunderstorm Scorchhowl at S, but it's a Scorchhowl weather form with no separate build page, and our sources don't confirm its element. Use the Scorchhowl build from the Fire guide. Pre-evolutions (Bolty, Fentuft, Bulbly, Veilfloat) are listed in each card's foot.

Lightning DPS: Fulmintis, Fenmane and Thunderstorm Sherro

Fulmintis is the burst carry: melee, crit-driven, and built to dump a full EP bar into one break window. Fenmane is the ranged alternative that ramps through a stance. Thunderstorm Sherro is Lightning on paper only.

Fulmintis

Lightning Blade Storm dashes in and keeps slashing while it drains EP, then finishes with a 26 Might Spinning Slash that gains +100% damage for every 3 slashes landed. Enhanced Lightning Blade adds +35% skill crit for 20s, and the trait Electro Stash refunds 4 EP on every skill crit, so more crit literally means longer storms. Kairos: "usually one of the strongest Aniimo in the game" 8:08.

Prismana Fulmintis

Same stats, skills and build as Fulmintis. It unlocks Enhanced Light Blade for the species, which works exactly like Enhanced Lightning Blade and does not turn your hits into Light. The real difference is defensive: Lightning and Light are both weak to Dark, so Dark hits it for 2.56× 12:41.

Fenmane

A ranged ramp DPS. Every hit adds a Thunderbond stack, and at 30 the next skill puts it in Thunderwing Stance for 10s, where basic attacks fire piercing AoE lightning. Thunder Field adds a bonus Lightning hit and debuff stack to every Lightning attack on the target (it keeps working off-field), and Thunder Imprint stores damage for 8s, then cashes 10 Lightning stacks for +100%.

Prismana Fenmane

Same build and team as Fenmane. It unlocks Radiant Dart: each hit stacks 5% healing reduction, up to 16 stacks, for 20s. That's a PvP and Pathfinder tool, not a damage upgrade. Game8 suggests a Sparkling Cube on the egg to lock in Perfect potential.

Thunderstorm Sherro

Its type says Lightning first, but its basic attack and every skill deal Water damage, and Game8 ranks it in the Water list. Build it as a puddle-powered Water DPS and run it on the Water team. Its trait gives +20% Water damage for 10s after touching or absorbing a puddle.

Lightning Break: Blazen

Game8 calls Blazen the only Lightning breaker in the game, which makes it a fixed slot on any Lightning team that needs to crack shields fast.

Blazen

Its ultimate Lightning Flash slams down and switches on Overcharged (the trait Power Sustain): a 5% HP shield and −12 EP on every skill for 6s. Electrified Impact is an unblockable dash with zero cooldown that refunds 5 EP on a crit, so you can spam it through the whole window.

Prismana Blazen

Same build. Game8 swaps Lightning Cross for its exclusive Dark Claw, a Dark multi-hit that Silences for 4s. Silence doesn't work on bosses, so keep Lightning Cross for boss fights and flyers. Game8's Dazmand page pairs Prismana Blazen with Fulmintis, Dazmand and Besauce.

His Blazen has max Break and nothing else 11:17. He tested a Bolty with +12 Attack and saw almost no extra shield damage 19:30, while crit did raise break damage 20:34. Capping Break from 8 to 20 cost him 4 Starcryst Essence after a Capa Fruit. Blazen's element advantage also let it nearly empty a shield in the casts that took Helion halfway 3:03.

Support and Regen: Besauce, Dazmand and Luminelle

This is where Lightning pulls ahead of other elements. Besauce refills EP and shreds Lightning resistance, Dazmand adds team crit, and Luminelle stacks Lightning damage buffs.

Besauce

Charged Geyser restores 15 EP at once plus 0.8 EP per second for 12s, and the trait Power Surge adds 4 EP when it casts below 20 EP. Its ultimate Electric Dance Frenzy lowers Lightning resistance by 24% for 30s. GameWith uses it as the default battery in almost every team. Kairos: "an amazing Aniimo... you want this guy maxed out" 24:55.

Dazmand

Thunder Sweep pulls enemies in and gives the whole team +20% crit rate on Lightning damage for 20s, a perfect fit for Fulmintis's crit engine. Electricity Shock applies 5 Lightning Debuff stacks and Paralyzes for 5s above 5 stacks. Its trait Spotlight Moment makes the first skill within 5s of swapping in free (15s cooldown). Kairos on Fulmintis: "you'd 100% want Dazmand" 5:41.

Luminelle

Lightning Surge gives Lightning teammates +27% basic attack damage and +16% break efficiency for 20s, and its trait Arc Surge adds +12% Lightning damage to everyone it buffs. The ultimate Self-Destruction leaves a field with +20% Lightning damage for 30s. It's the opener of both Game8 Lightning rotations.

Prismana Luminelle

Same build. It unlocks Healing Impact, a held beam that heals on-field allies and removes debuffs after 3s of channeling. Game8 rates it B and GameWith S, the widest gap in this element. Game8's Prismana Luminelle teams use it with Dazmand, Besauce and either Fulmintis or Fenmane.

The Fulmintis core: why these three work together

Fulmintis turns EP into damage, Besauce turns nothing into EP, and Dazmand turns crit into both. Each one feeds the next.

Enhanced Lightning Blade (+35%), Dazmand's Thunder Sweep (+20%) and Nimble (+5%), on top of the 10% base.

Besauce's ultimate for 30s. Lightning Debuff stacks add up to another −20%.

Game8's threshold before Fulmintis swaps in. Besauce or Somniwing tops you up.

Every skill crit refunds 4 EP through Electro Stash, so a high crit rate stretches Lightning Blade Storm longer, and a longer storm means more 3-slash steps on the final Spinning Slash. Heartseeker Pendant adds a 10 Might bonus hit on half your crits. That's why Kairos breaks his own rule here and takes Nimble 17:37, and why he maxes every stat on his Fulmintis, Regen and Break included 12:49.

Game8 gives Dazmand 3 stars in Regen and a Spirited Feather. Kairos says its skills scale off Attack, so build Attack and skip Regen 11:40. Both put Attack first. If Potential is tight, follow Kairos.

Game8 says Dazmand fills the same slot as Luminelle: "a fine substitute, but not a replacement". Its main Fulmintis team uses Luminelle, but its Dazmand page runs Dazmand, Fulmintis, Prismana Blazen and Besauce. GameWith runs both and drops the breaker. If you own both, test which clears faster on your target.

The Season 1 Companion Handbook Lv 10 reward is an Incredible Fulmintis Egg (Elite potential or better) per Game8; Capa Fruit or a Sparkling Cube gets it to Perfect. The Fulminous Soul for evolving Wisptis comes from the paid Advanced Handbook. A Trusted Friend who owns the Handbook can evolve one and trade it to you 4:35.

The best Lightning teams and rotations

Team 1: Fulmintis burst (Game8's #3 team overall)

  • Enter with a full ultimate bar. Open with Luminelle's Lightning Surge.
  • Blazen: Lightning Flash right away, then spam Electrified Impact while Overcharged until the shield breaks.
  • Under 45 EP? Besauce: Charged Geyser. Cast it low so Power Surge adds its 4 EP.
  • Fulmintis: Enhanced Lightning Blade, then Lightning Blade Storm on the stationary, broken target.
  • Back to Blazen to rebuild EP and ult charge, then repeat from step 2.

Team 2: Fenmane ranged

No breaker: three buffers stack Lightning crit and damage while Fenmane ramps. If shields take too long, Game8 says to bring Blazen in for Dazmand or Besauce. Game8's overall team list names Fenmane as the ranged swap for Fulmintis in Team 1.

Other versions

Source | Team | Why

Game8 (Dazmand page) | Fulmintis, Prismana Blazen, Dazmand, Besauce | Team crit instead of Luminelle's buffs

GameWith | Fulmintis, Dazmand, Luminelle, Besauce | Maximum buffs, Fulmintis does its own breaking

Game8 (Fenmane page) | Fenmane, Turbo, Luminelle, Dazmand | Turbo for Besauce: more damage, less EP

Budget and F2P swaps

Missing | Use instead | Note

Besauce (fragment grind) | Somniwing | Game8 rates its EP recovery on par with Besauce, plus +10 max EP for Fulmintis

Dazmand (event ended) | Luminelle or Turbo | Turbo is a free tutorial Alpha: +15% damage and break efficiency, +30% with Shrouded in Mist

Fulmintis | Fenmane | Fully catchable in Driftwise Meadow; the evolution needs one friend trade

Luminelle | Turbo or Prismana Glacy | Universal +15% buffs work, but Kairos says element-matched supports are better 5:41

A fully free-to-play Lightning team: Fenmane, Blazen, Luminelle, Besauce. Every piece is catchable or earnable in the open world.

Advanced Lightning tips

Lightning Debuff stacks

Each Lightning Debuff stack lowers Lightning resistance by 1%, up to 20 (−20%). Lightning has several ways to stack it:

  • Dazmand: Electricity Shock (5 stacks) and Lightning Storm (12 hits, 1 stack each).
  • Fenmane: Thunder Field adds a stack with every triggered hit; Thunder Imprint consumes 10 for +100% damage.
  • Besauce's ultimate is a separate −24% Lightning resistance for 30s, on top of the stacks.

Game8's skill text says −24% for 30s, while its team notes say "up to 42%". The 42% figure may include debuff stacks, but no source explains it. Plan around 24%.

Opening with Dazmand on the field wastes Spotlight Moment, and spending the free cast on Electricity Shock instead of the 30 EP Thunder Sweep wastes it too. Casting Charged Geyser above 20 EP skips Power Surge. Using Lightning Blade Storm on a moving target: it needs a stationary one. Using Besauce's ult with no other Lightning units. Expecting ult charge while Blazen is Overcharged: it can't gain UP during that state. Relying on Luminelle to heal: it only heals on-field allies.

Game8's team lists equip Luminelle with "Lightning Discharge", but its build page recommends Swift Retreat + Lightning Surge. Game8 spells Fenmane's stance both Thunderwing and Thunderwind. The Fenmane notes say Dazmand raises team crit "up to 35%", while Thunder Sweep's text says +20%.

What to invest in first

  • Besauce, because it improves every team you own, not just Lightning. Regen only, Spirited Feather. Kairos says max it.
  • Fulmintis (or Fenmane): Attack, then Regen, Heartseeker Pendant, and the Lightning Blade Storm contract when you have 10 Marks of the Strong.
  • Blazen's Break with a Gargantuan Horn. It doubles as a breaker against any Water or Wind shield.
  • Luminelle and Dazmand last. Their buffs need Attack, but supports can wait until the carries are done.

The Enhanced Twining talent adds up to +25% damage only while you're Twined, so auto-battling in Command Mode throws it away 8:38. For more layers, see the damage multipliers guide.
