A guide to the Steam version of Knight Online (published by NTTGame): picking a nation and class, leveling, stats and skills, the upgrade system, National Points and PvP zones, events, and what's running right now.
Researched September 2026 — current as of the September 21, 2026 maintenance (next maintenance moved to October 6, 2026). Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.
Quick Start
- Pick a nation carefully. You choose El Morad (humans) or Karus (orcs) when you create your first character. Your nation decides who you fight in PvP. Ask friends which side they're on before you start.
- Class choice matters more than race. Classes are Warrior, Rogue, Magician, Priest and the later-added Kurian (called Porutu on the El Morad side). Race mostly affects looks and some starting stats.
- Do your quests. Early quests give most of your experience and gear, and they unlock your job changes. Follow the quest markers rather than grinding mobs.
- Moradon is the neutral hub. Trading, storage (the Inn/bank), and event registration happen here. Your nation's castle town is your home base.
- Don't upgrade gear you can't afford to lose. The Upgrade System can destroy items on failure unless you use protection items. Start with cheap gear.
- PvP costs and earns National Points (NP). You get NP for killing enemy players in PvP zones and lose some when you die there. NP also counts toward monthly Ladder Points, which some events require.
- Join a clan. Clans give buffs, a party for events and people who'll help you with gear and upgrades.
- Premium is optional but popular. Premium subscriptions give extra experience, drop and quality-of-life bonuses. Events also give temporary buffs.
- Check the event schedule. Knight Online is built around timed events (Border Defense War, Chaos, Juraid Mountain, Bifrost, Castle Siege War, Lunar War and more).
- Server time is EST. Every event and maintenance time in the patch notes is in EST unless noted.
Nations and Races
Nation | Races
El Morad (humans) | Barbarian, El Moradian Male, El Moradian Female, Porutu
Karus (orcs) | Arch Tuarek, Tuarek, Wrinkle Tuarek, Puri Tuarek, Kurian
Some race and class combinations are restricted (for example, Barbarians can only be Warriors). Each account can hold several characters per server, and they share the Inn storage, which makes alts useful as storage or merchant characters.
Classes
Class | Role | Main stat | Notes
Warrior | Frontline melee | STR | Strong in party and siege play; defense and berserker styles
Rogue | Assassin or archer | DEX | Two main branches: daggers (Assassin) and bows (Archer). Great solo leveling
Magician | Ranged caster | INT | Fire, Ice and Lightning trees. Big area damage in PvP battles
Priest | Healer / buffer / melee | STR or INT (build dependent) | Buffs are vital to groups. Some priests build for melee damage
Kurian / Porutu | Hybrid tank/healer | STR/HP | Later addition. Tanky and self-sufficient
Beginner-friendly: Rogue (archer) for solo leveling, Warrior if you want to be in the middle of the action, Priest if you want to be welcome in every party.
Stats and Skills
Stats: STR (Strength), HP (Health), DEX (Dexterity), INT (Intelligence), MP (Magic Power). You distribute some free points at creation and gain more as you level.
Typical stat focus:
Class | Main | Secondary
Warrior | STR | HP
Rogue | DEX | STR/HP
Magician | INT or MP (by build) | HP
Priest | STR (battle priest) or INT (heal/buff) | HP
Kurian / Porutu | STR | HP
Use a Stat Reset if you want to change your build. NPCs and some items offer stat and skill resets.
Skills: Each class has a basic skill set, three main skill trees, and a master skill tree that unlocks after the second job change. You earn skill points as you level.
Job changes:
- First job change: done early via a quest. It opens the main skill trees.
- Second job change (master): a longer quest later in leveling. It opens the master skill set.
Leveling Path
- Start zone: your nation's starting town area. Follow quests.
- Moradon: the neutral town. Many quests and trading.
- Eslant (El Morad / Karus variants): mid-level hunting zones.
- Ronark Land / Colony Zone: open PvP zones with monsters. Good experience but constant danger.
- Ardream: a lower-level PvP zone for players in a certain level range.
- Party grinding is much faster than solo once you're in the mid levels.
Tips:
- Keep potions stocked. Health and mana potions are cheap early.
- Party with a Priest for buffs and heals.
- Use experience scrolls (from events or premium) during long sessions.
- The official Genie auto-hunting feature exists, and there have been events that reward using it. Check the rules of your server before relying on it.
Gear and the Upgrade System
Rarity tiers: normal, magic, rare, unique and higher. Better gear drops from bosses and events.
Upgrading:
- Use upgrade scrolls on an item to raise its + level (for example +1 to +7 and beyond).
- The higher the level, the higher the chance of failure. A failed upgrade can destroy the item.
- Support items such as Trina's Piece improve your upgrade odds; read the tooltip of any protection/boost item on your server before relying on it, since effects differ by item.
- Special NPCs handle upgrades for accessories and some special items.
Rules of thumb:
- Upgrade cheap items first to learn the risk.
- Don't upgrade the only good weapon you own without protection.
- Upgrades at higher levels are a big money sink. Plan around your budget in Noah.
Economy and Currencies
Currency | Source | Use
Noah | Drops, selling items, quests | Main in-game money. NPC purchases, trades
Knight Cash (KC) | Real money purchases, some events | Power Up Store (premium shop)
National Points (NP) | PvP kills, events | Nation rewards, ranks, some items
Ladder Points | Monthly NP | Entry requirements (e.g. Ultima's Dungeon needs 50)
Merchanting: You can set up a merchant stall in town to sell items while you're away. Buying low from new players and selling in Moradon is a real way to earn Noah.
PvP: Zones and Events
Open PvP: Ronark Land (the Colony Zone) is the main open-world battlefield, where nations fight all day. Ardream is for lower-level players.
Major events:
Event | What it is
Border Defense War | Team battle between nations
Forgotten Temple | PvE waves
Chaos | Free-for-all with rewards
Juraid Mountain | Nation vs nation event with objectives
BiFrost | Monster and boss event with rewards
Castle Siege War | Clans fight over a castle
Lunar War / Dark Lunar War | Large-scale nation wars
Knight Royale | Battle royale-style event
Current Events (September 2026)
From the September 9 and 21, 2026 patch notes:
- Daily Login event (4 weeks, from September 21): one reward per day for logging in. Rewards are untradeable. Missed days can be bought back for 1,000,000 Coins each.
- Ultima's Dungeon (4 weeks, from September 21): enter twice a day between 12:00 and 23:00 server time. Requires level 80+ and 50 Ladder Points (or Premium, per the notice). Up to 30 players per room; at least 5 registered to open another room. If a registered player loses Ladder Points by dying before the teleport, they can't enter.
- Fugitive Moon Rabbits (4 weeks, from September 21): 100 rabbits spawn at the center of Ronark Land (the Bowl) at 14:00 and 22:00 server time. The nation that kills the most in 10 minutes, or 51 first, gets a 1-hour +5% attack buff. Area attacks do 30% damage to rabbits. Possible drops include a Holy Knight Wing Exchange Coupon (30 days), Lunar Rabbit Mortar Piece, Full Moon Emblem Voucher (30 days) and Hero's Vow. Ronark Land Blitz is off during the rabbit event.
- Ronark Land Bowl Lycaon Boss (4 weeks, from September 9): spawns roughly every 3 hours, with some random variation.
- "I Will Continue Playing Knight Online" event (September 9 to October 6): collect 20+ emblems from Akara's Altar to get 30 Enhanced Bulk-Up Scrolls (non-tradable) after the October 6 maintenance, delivered by letter.
Maintenance: The maintenance originally set for October 7 is moved to October 6, 2026.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Picking a nation without checking where your friends are. You can't easily switch.
- Upgrading your only good item without protection.
- Standing still in Ronark Land. Enemy players will find you, and deaths cost NP.
- Spreading stat points everywhere. Pick a build and stick to it.
- Missing event registration windows. Many events need you to register in advance.
- Ignoring potions and buffs. Most deaths in early PvP are to players with better buffs, not better gear.
- Trading outside the trade window. Scams exist. Use the in-game trade system only.
Advanced Tips
- Time your events. The strongest rewards come from events. Put Juraid Mountain, Chaos and Bifrost into your schedule.
- Stack buffs. The Moon Rabbit buff stacks with other buffs and persists through respawns and map changes.
- Farm bosses in groups. Bosses like the Lycaon give strong drops, and the last hit often matters for special rewards.
- Keep Ladder Points high. Some events need a minimum at registration and at entry.
- Use your bank. Characters on the same account share Inn storage. Use an alt as a merchant or storage character.
- Watch the event sales. The Aset / Event Sales menus sometimes discount wings and tattoos for Noah (for example, War Hero Wing 30 days for 90,000,000 Noah in the August 26 update).
