Light is the starters' element: Lunara and Helion are both Game8 S-tier and anchor Game8's #1 team. Here are their full builds (locked personalities, Fennelun and Soleon, learnable skills), every Light Prismana form, and the Light team rotation.

Light at a glance

Light hits Wind and Dark for 1.6× and has only one weakness: Dark. That makes it the safest element to field, and the starters' trait covers most of the matchups where Light has no advantage.

Wind Dark

Lightning Light

Dark. It resists Fire, Water, Grass and Light.

Neutral targets are Fire, Water, Grass, Ice and Earth. Game8 notes that Light, Water and Earth each resist four elements, and that Light's lone weakness is Dark.

Every Light Aniimo, ranked

Only the two starters are pure Light. Every other Light unit is a Prismana form, and Game8 ranks each one inside its other element, which is where it is actually played.

Aniimo | Role | Game8 overall | GameWith | Played in

Lunara | DPS | S | not ranked (used in its Light team) | Light team

Helion | DPS | S | not ranked (used in its Light team) | Light team

Prismana Sherro (Light + Water) | DPS | A | not rated | Water team

Prismana Fenmane (Light + Lightning) | DPS | A | not rated | Lightning team

Prismana Luminelle (Light + Lightning) | Support | B | S | Lightning team

Prismana Glynsera (Light + Ice) | DPS | B | not rated | Ice team

Light as the second element:

Prismana Glacy (Water + Light) | Heal | S | SS | Every team, incl. Light

Prismana Fulmintis (Lightning + Light) | DPS | A | not rated | Lightning team

Prismana Melloblum (Grass + Light) | Support | unranked | not rated | Grass crit team

Lunara vs Helion: which starter, and why it matters

You pick one in the tutorial and can't get the other; GameWith adds that they can't share a party anyway. Both carry the same element trait, so the choice is about playstyle.

Ranged, basic-attack burst

Every skill or ult arms 4 Silver Moon Marks; each basic hit spends one for +100% damage and 0.5% HP. Lumin Bolts lowers Light resistance. Personality locked to ISTJ.

Melee, skill burst

Every 4 basic attacks grants Solar Halo, which empowers the next skill. Holy Roar stacks +18% Light Damage Amp before a big Light Bombardment. Personality locked to ENFP.

He calls the starters "low-key a beast" and worth building, and recommends Lunara over Helion for new players because she lets you dodge and kite more. He picked Helion himself and thinks the Lv 65 Lita fight would have been easier with Lunara 26:00

The starter trait: bonus damage when you have no advantage

Lunar Power and Solar Grace both raise final damage whenever the hit isn't element-advantaged, which is every target except Wind and Dark. Against Wind and Dark you get the 1.6× advantage instead, so the starters are never without a bonus.

Game8's trait text for both starters reads +20% final damage. Kairos says +30% in two videos 4:50. Either way, it's well short of a real 60% advantage, so Kairos's long-term advice stands: build a DPS for every element, and keep the starter as your catch-all.

Starter builds: Lunara and Helion

Both starters want Attack first, Regen second. Their ultimates transform them for the rest of the fight, so cast the ultimate early rather than saving it.

Lunara

Open with Lumin Bolts: three Light shots that apply Fox Mark (−5% Light resistance, up to 3 stacks, 10s). Then every skill arms 4 Silver Moon Marks, so each cast is followed by four double-damage basic hits. Moon Impact deals extra splash to Fox-Marked targets. Game8: up to 8 basic attacks and one Moon Impact on just 35 EP.

Helion

A Physical melee burst unit. Land 4 basic attacks for Solar Halo, cast Holy Roar (with Halo it applies all 3 stacks at once: +18% Light Damage Amp for 20s), rebuild Halo, then dive with Light Bombardment, which hits 30% harder with Ring of the Golden Sun from the ultimate. Game8 says the buffs add up to more than +60% on Light Bombardment.

Learnable skills: when to swap one in

Skill | Starter | Effect | Use it when

Moon-Washed | Lunara | Recover 20 EP | You have no Regen unit yet (before Somniwing).

Sun-Kissed | Helion | Restore 20 EP (25 with Solar Halo) | Same: self-sufficient EP while you build the team.

Lunar Eclipse | Lunara | Heavy extra Break damage | Your starter is doubling as the breaker.

Holy Storm | Helion | AoE storm that pulls enemies together | Clearing packs of small enemies.

DPS normally skip Break, but he makes an exception for Helion and Lunara, because your starter may be your best breaker for a long time 15:15. His Helion has 60 Might and 150% break damage, but an element-advantaged breaker still nearly emptied a shield with the same EP 3:03

The Light team (Game8's #1 team)

Game8 notes the game lacks Light-specific supports, so the Light team is built from the best universal pieces: the strongest generic breaker, a typeless damage buff and the best EP unit.

Lunara or Helion

Your starter, built as above.

Rookey

Break scales with P.Def, not element. Catchable in the Russet Highlands.

Prismana Glacy

Glimmer Shot: +15% team damage for 20s on 10 EP, plus heals.

Somniwing

+10 max EP from the bench, +24% EP recovery, a 36 EP ultimate.

Prismana Glacy

The Light team's support and the safest first Prismana. Glimmer Shot needs very little field time, Healing Water heals the whole team and then the active Aniimo, and Water + Light resist Fire twice.

Rotation: Lunara

  • Somniwing: Ethereal Light Wave, then Turbo or Prismana Glacy for the damage buff (Turbo: 4 basics first so Nimbi Burst is doubled to +30%).
  • Rookey: Bouncy Sling, then Guardbreak Slam until the shield breaks. Refresh any buff that expires.
  • Lunara: Lumin Bolts → Selene's Judgment (Fennelun, +15%, 4 marks).
  • 4 basic attacks, then Moon Impact, then 4 more basics before the break ends.

Rotation: Helion

  • Buffs first: Nimbi Burst and Glimmer Shot.
  • 2 basics, dodge-cancel, 2 basics for a fast Solar Halo, because the full string is slower.
  • Holy Roar (+18%), then 2 + 2 basics again for a new Halo.
  • Light Bombardment, and Helios' Judgment just before or right after the break.
  • Spam Light Bombardment until EP runs out, refreshing Holy Roar and buffs, then swap to Somniwing.

Swaps and budget options

Slot | Swap | Source | Trade-off

Prismana Glacy | Turbo (free tutorial Alpha) | Game8 | Nimbi Burst also buffs Break efficiency and Cloud Shield adds shields; you lose Glacy's heals.

Somniwing | Gracewing | Game8 | Less EP, more healing; Phantomfly gives 20 EP per pickup.

Somniwing | Hexxin or Flutternym | Game8 (Helion page) | Hexxin still refills 10 EP per Sonic Blast; Flutternym's Purifying Dance cleanses and adds EP recovery.

Whole team | Lunara/Helion · Prismana Glacy · Rainstorm Turbo · Besauce | GameWith | No breaker; Besauce is GameWith's default EP battery.

Light Prismana forms

These are not Light-team units. Game8 says Prismana forms have the same stats as the base species; what changes is the typing and one exclusive skill. Build each one for its base element's team.

Prismana Sherro

A puddle-powered Water DPS. Versus base Sherro it has fewer weaknesses and much higher Fire resistance; its exclusive Prismana Slam doesn't benefit from the Water-only trait.

Prismana Fenmane

A ranged Lightning DPS. Thunder Field follows the target and adds an extra Lightning hit plus Lightning Debuff; at 30 Thunderbond stacks it enters Thunderwing Stance. Its exclusive Radiant Dart inflicts healing reduction.

Prismana Luminelle

Game8 B, GameWith S. Lightning Surge gives Lightning teammates +27% basic attack damage and +16% Break efficiency, and Arc Surge adds +12% Lightning damage. Its Light skill Healing Impact only heals on-field allies but does cleanse debuffs.

Prismana Glynsera

An Ice-debuff DPS (A in Game8's Ice ranking). Game8 says outright it is not recommended for Light teams, because its trait needs 5+ Ice Debuff stacks for its +15% crit.

Prismana Fulmintis (Lightning + Light, Companion Handbook Lv 20, paid tier): same build as Fulmintis; its Enhanced Light Blade works exactly like Enhanced Lightning Blade and doesn't turn its attacks Light. Kairos warns it is weak to Dark twice (2.56×) 12:41. Prismana Melloblum (Grass + Light): a Grass-crit support for Thornblade; Game8 says its exclusive Sparkling Rose is a weaker Light version of Blasting Roses.

Advanced Light tips

Light's own damage layers

Because there are no Light-only supports, the universal buffs (Turbo, Glimmer Shot) and the Break window carry most of a Light team's damage. Cast them inside the break.

Mistakes to avoid

Each skill or ult arms 4 marks, and the double damage only happens on basic hits. Game8's rotation always follows a cast with 4 basic attacks before the next skill, so spend the marks before you cast again.

Two hits, dodge, two hits builds Solar Halo faster than the whole string, and Halo is what powers Holy Roar and Light Bombardment.

Lightning and Light resist Light, and the trait only partly makes up for 0.625×. Dark enemies take 1.6× from you but also hit you for 1.6×, so bring a healer. Kairos's rule: build a DPS for every element for Holo-Battle Sim and Interlink 4:50

What to invest in first

  • Your starter: level, Attack, Regen, Fission Needles (Lunara) or Ferocious Fang (Helion). Skip Psyche Fruit, because the personality is locked.
  • Rookey, because it also breaks for the Dark team and most others.
  • Prismana Glacy from the free Prismana Pact pick, which Kairos calls the safe first Prismana 0:00
  • Somniwing (180 Elite Training objectives). Use Gracewing or Hexxin until then.
  • Light Prismana forms only for their own teams. Prismana Sherro is a free reward for the Lv 65 Lita fight, and the Fenmane egg comes at RV 10.
