Fire has two ways to win: a burst team where Scorchhowl dumps a full EP bar into one Burn Breaker, and a debuff team where Infergon cashes in Fire stacks. Here is the build for every released Fire Aniimo, and how to run both teams.
Fire at a glance
Fire is a two-target element. It hits Grass and Ice for 1.6× and gets resisted by Fire, Water, Earth and Light (0.625×). Bring it to Grass and Ice bosses, and keep it far away from Water.
Scorchhowl's trait adds another +25% on countered targets, so the bonus stacks.
Fire Water Earth Light
Both hit Fire for 1.6×. Water is a hard counter: it takes only 0.625× back from you.
Neutral targets are Lightning, Wind and Dark. Fire defenders resist Fire, Grass and Ice hits, so a Fire team is a safe pick into Grass and Ice content from both directions.
Every Fire Aniimo, ranked
Ranked by Game8's overall tier (Oct 6), with GameWith's (Oct 14) where it has one. The two lists disagree a lot on Fire, so both are shown.
Aniimo | Role | Game8 | GameWith | Note
Inferlupa | Break | S | S+ | Fire + Dark. Best Fire breaker in both lists.
Sparkelf | Support | S | not ranked | The Fire buffer. Prismana Sparkelf is also S.
Prismana Scorchhowl | DPS | S | not ranked | Highland, Mountain Woods and Thunderstorm forms are S too.
Infergon | DPS | A | S+ | Fire-debuff DPS. Needs a Perfect pre-evolution.
Flamerion | Regen | A | A | EP battery for debuff teams.
Squashel | Break | A | not ranked | Combo breaker. Easier to get than Inferlupa.
Scorchhowl | DPS | B | S+ | Game8's grid says B, but its own page text calls it S.
Magmarex | Break | B | S+ | Fire + Earth. Game8 ranks it A among breakers.
GameWith rates the whole Fire roster higher than Game8 does. The two agree on the order that matters: Inferlupa and a Scorchhowl form are the core, and Sparkelf is the support that turns them into a real team.
Fire DPS builds
Two DPS, two playstyles. Scorchhowl is burst: bank EP, then spend it all on one charged hit. Infergon is sustain: keep five or more Fire stacks on the target and spam claws.
Scorchhowl
Burn Breaker charges up and, at max charge, eats your entire EP bar for +30% damage per extra 10 EP. That makes Scorchhowl the biggest single hit on a Fire team, as long as it walks into the break window with a full bar. Its trait, Scorching Flames, adds +25% against targets Fire counters, so save it for Grass and Ice.
Prismana and regional forms. Prismana Scorchhowl (Game8 S) runs the same kit and skills. Game8 gives it Ferocious Fang instead of Explosive Gloves and lists 5 less base HP. It spawns under the giant tree at the west end of Beast Fang Ridge during a Prismana Flow. Highland, Mountain Woods and Thunderstorm Scorchhowl are also Game8 S but have no separate build page, so use this one. Catching a Highland form unlocks Pebble Kick (a dodge that inflicts Blockade for 8s), and a Thunderstorm form unlocks Lightning Kick.
Infergon
Infergon applies its own fuel. Lava Breath puts 8 Fire stacks on the target, and Flaming Claws strikes twice within 5s, each hit consuming 2 stacks for an extra 30 Might. Its trait, Power of Fire, adds +30% damage against targets with more than 5 Fire stacks. Keep the count above 5 and it never stops hitting hard.
Kairos's crowned Infergon (three stats at 20) runs Energetic + Practical in the top two slots: +2% Attack and Break, +4% damage. That matches Game8's E-S-T-P. 20:07
Fire Break builds
Pick your breaker by the DPS you run. Inferlupa is the strongest. Magmarex is the only one that feeds Infergon's Fire stacks. Squashel is the easiest to get.
Inferlupa
Unbroken Flameruff Spirit ricochets between targets 5 times and stacks +10% BREAK efficiency per hit, up to 3 stacks, for 20s. Its trait, Full Energy, triggers after 8 basic attacks: the next skill is empowered (7 ricochets, or an extra Hunting Pack clone). Its basic attacks deal Dark damage, so it slots into Dark teams too.
Squashel
A combo breaker. Its trait, Raging Fire, turns the first basic attack after any skill into the combo finisher, with Might going from 4 to 25. Pinecone Bomb marks targets, and Blazing Fist Barrage consumes the mark to turn your next basic into Punch Rush (60 Might). It's harder to play than Inferlupa, but you can catch one in an afternoon.
Magmarex
The breaker for Infergon. Lava Breath drains the shield and stacks Fire Debuff at the same time. Its trait, Pyro Charge, kicks in after you spend 50 EP and adds a Fire stack to nearby enemies every 2s for 10s. The catch is EP: Lava Breath is hungry, so set up an EP buff before you swap in.
Game8 lists Prismana Inferlupa as a new Vein Abundance spawn but has no build page for it yet, so we can't rank it. Catching one unlocks Blazing Wolf Assault for every Inferlupa: 2 clones attack a spot, plus a third with 10s of Super Armor in Full Energy. Until it gets a page, build it like the base form.
Game8 gives Inferlupa 4★ in Attack. Kairos tested this: break damage uses the higher of Attack or Break, so Attack on a Break unit barely moves the shield. Put Potential into Break first and treat Attack as optional. 11:17
Fire Support and Regen builds
Sparkelf makes Fire damage bigger. Flamerion turns Fire stacks into EP. Neither needs Attack: their value scales with level, Regen and HP.
Sparkelf
Three layers of Fire Elemental Boost. The trait, Reliable Fire Companion, gives the party +15% just for being there (+20% above 40 EP). Inspiration adds +15% for 12s, and the ultimate adds +25% for 30s. Treat Feed heals the team, and heals more on anyone below 50% or 25% HP. It only buffs Fire, but on a Fire team nothing else comes close.
Prismana Sparkelf (Game8 S, no separate page) unlocks Leaping Sparks for every Sparkelf: an exploding fireball that makes the target take +100% damage while it's Shielded, for 20s.
Flamerion
Phantom Barrage slams every Fire-debuffed enemy in range and refunds 3.2 EP per stack, capped at 28.8 EP, which you reach at 9 stacks. Trick Fire Ring (4 stacks, up to +50% damage at range) and the ultimate (12 stacks) set that up on their own. It's a strong battery on a debuff team and weak on any team that doesn't stack Fire.
Best Fire teams and rotations
Fire is Game8's #5 team overall. Run the burst team into bosses you can break fast. Run the debuff team when you want steady damage and fewer swaps.
Scorchhowl / Inferlupa / Sparkelf / Somniwing
Prismana or a regional Scorchhowl drops straight in. Swap Inferlupa for Magmarex if you want Fire stacks on the boss.
Infergon / Magmarex / Sparkelf / Flamerion
Every slot either applies Fire stacks or cashes them in. It's all Fire, so you don't need Somniwing.
Burst rotation
- Sparkelf: Inspiration, then Somniwing's Ethereal Light Wave to start filling EP.
- Inferlupa: Unbroken Flameruff Spirit for the +30% break efficiency stacks, then Hunting Pack and basics until the shield is close.
- Top up before you pop it. Swap to Somniwing and fill EP, because Burn Breaker scales with every 10 EP you feed it.
- Break, then re-buff with Inspiration and Keep the Fire Bolt Going! inside the window.
- Scorchhowl: max-charge Burn Breaker with a full bar, then Falling Star if it's up. Use Fire Kick to dodge.
- Somniwing refills EP. Repeat.
Debuff rotation
- Sparkelf: Inspiration for the Fire Boost.
- Flamerion: Trick Fire Ring to put the first stacks on the target.
- Magmarex: Lava Breath to drain the shield while it stacks Fire (use Lava Punch only if it's contracted or Alpha).
- On break: Sparkelf re-buffs, then Flamerion casts Phantom Barrage at 9+ stacks to refill everyone's EP.
- Infergon: Lava Breath to top the stacks above 5, spam Flaming Claws, and cast Hot Breath when it's up.
Swaps, budget and F2P options
If you don't have | Use | Why
Inferlupa | Squashel | Game8's named easier-to-get Fire breaker. It doesn't apply Fire stacks, so keep it on the Scorchhowl team.
Somniwing | Flamerion or Besauce | Flamerion refills big when the boss has Fire stacks. GameWith uses Besauce as its default battery (40 fragments from Pathfinder trials).
Sparkelf | Turbo or Prismana Glacy | Typeless +15% (Turbo up to 30%). Everyone gets an Alpha Turbo in the tutorial.
Somniwing (Inferlupa team) | Hexxin | Inferlupa's basic attacks are Dark, so Hexxin's trait refunds EP on every hit.
A Prismana Scorchhowl | Alpha Scorchhowl | Same kit. It's a free Alpha in Beast Fang Ridge.
Prismana Scorchhowl, Magmarex, Rainstorm Turbo, Besauce. This is a burst team that swaps Sparkelf for a typeless buffer and Somniwing for Besauce. Use it if you're missing the two Season 1 units.
Advanced Fire tips
Run the Fire Debuff economy
Every hit stacks the target's Fire Debuff, up to 20 stacks at −1% Fire resistance each. The Fire roster splits into three groups. Don't put a consumer next to a payoff that needs the stacks.
Appliers
Magmarex (Lava Breath, Pyro Charge), Flamerion (Trick Fire Ring 4, Fire Orb 3, ult 12), Infergon (Lava Breath 8, Hot Breath 8).
Payoffs (keep the stacks)
Infergon's +30% trait (over 5 stacks), Flamerion's Phantom Barrage (EP caps at 9 stacks), Magmarex's Burning Sun (+2% per stack).
Consumers (eat the stacks)
Infergon's Flaming Claws (2 per hit, which is fine), and uncontracted Lava Punch, which wipes them all.
He showed his Scorchhowl dealing extra damage after a teammate's ultimate put debuff stacks on the target. He calls it niche because it only works with kits that apply stacks without eating them. That's why Fire is the cleanest element to try it with. 11:08
Mistakes to avoid
- Squashel or Inferlupa with Infergon. Neither applies Fire stacks, so Infergon's trait never turns on. Game8 warns about both.
- Burn Breaker on half a bar. The bonus is per extra 10 EP. Refill with your Regen unit first, or you lose most of Scorchhowl's damage.
- Uncontracted Lava Punch on the debuff team. It resets the count your DPS and Flamerion are building.
- Fire into Water. You deal 0.625× and take 1.6×, and Magmarex takes 2.56×. Swap teams.
- Expecting a benched battery to refill you. A unit's Regen stat does nothing for your EP while it's off the field; only its skills do. Swap in, refill, swap out. 13:45
What to invest in first
- Inferlupa, because it's S in both lists and breaks for Fire and Dark teams. Start the Journey: Warrior quest early, since it takes real days.
- A Scorchhowl (Alpha or Prismana). Kairos's tip: Inferlupa and Scorchhowl are one family, so you can Inherit the investment between them instead of paying twice. 16:15
- Sparkelf, which is cheap: level it and put Potential into Regen and HP.
- The debuff team later, because Infergon needs a Perfect Jawling or Helmwhelp and the Omega Infergon unlock.
Kairos force-spawns Emberpups with Fire Shards offerings (cheap in the Credit Shop under Nurture) and catches until one rolls Elite or Perfect, then evolves it. 4:13 For a weather form, register it with any pod, then Morph Orb a Perfect normal copy into it. 10:02
Holo-Battle Sim rotates element training sims, and Kairos lists Grass, Water and Fire as the current three. A Fire DPS clears the Grass sim at 1.6×. 1:00 Omega Infergon is also your weekly Starcryst Essence source (3 per week), so you'll fight it anyway. 5:40 For the full multiplier stack, see the damage guide.
