Quick Start
- Every mode is about lying and catching liars. The punishment differs (Russian Roulette, poison, execution), but the core skill is the same: know the odds and read people.
- Tables seat up to four. You can matchmake or host a private lobby for friends.
- Voice chat is part of the game. Talking, pressure, and table talk are legitimate tools. Turn it off in Options if you prefer; since January 2026 it no longer switches on automatically.
- Count what's been played. In Liar's Deck and Liar's Dice, tracking what's already on the table is the biggest edge.
- Don't call "Liar" too early. In Liar's Deck, the caller pulls the trigger if the accused told the truth.
- Use once-per-game tools wisely. Coward's Fold and Switch (Liar's Poker) and Double Spin (Liar's Slots) are limited.
- Ranked resets each season. Season 5 started on 2 July 2026 with a fresh start for everyone.
- Play a few casual matches first. Learn each mode's tempo before jumping into ranked.
Liar's Deck
Rules
- Each round the table announces a card value (for example, King or Queen).
- On your turn, play cards face down and declare them as the table value. You may be lying.
- The next player can accept and play, or call Liar.
- If the called player lied, they play Russian Roulette. If they told the truth, the caller does.
- The revolver has six chambers and one bullet. Survive and you stay in; each survival makes the next pull more dangerous.
- After a roulette, the cards are reset and play continues. Last player alive wins.
Variants
Mode | What changes (as of July 2026)
Basic | Standard rules above
Chaos Mode | Chaos cards activate immediately when played. Cards are no longer redistributed after a successful "Liar!" call or special hand. A successful "Liar!" call lets you shoot only the challenged player.
Devil Mode | Features the Devil card. New Devil's Deal: if the last four cards are lies, everyone except the player who revealed Devil's Deal must pull the trigger on themselves.
Strategy
- Track the table value. Remember how many of that value have been claimed; if the claims exceed what can plausibly exist in the deck, call.
- Play truthful cards early when you have them; save your bluffs for when others are cautious.
- Watch hand sizes. A player dumping many cards at once while holding few is often bluffing.
- The last card problem: When someone is about to run out, the next player is forced into a hard decision. Plan your plays so you're not the one stuck calling.
- Your roulette odds get worse each time you survive. A player with several pulls behind them should be more cautious about calling.
Liar's Dice
Rules
- Each player rolls dice privately.
- On your turn, bid a total count of a specific face across all dice on the table (for example, "five 3s").
- The next player must raise (more dice, or a higher face) or challenge.
- The loser of a challenge drinks a bottle of poison. Two bottles and you're out. Last alive wins.
- Spot On: Instead of raising or calling Liar, you can declare that the previous bid is exactly right. The Liar's Dice Remastered update (29 Sep 2025) brought Spot On to Basic Dice as well.
- Traditional ruleset: Added in October 2024. Ones are wild (they count as any face), and a correct Spot On makes everyone else drink. Check the lobby's mode filter so you know which ruleset you're joining.
Strategy
- Know the expected count. On average, each face shows up about one in six dice (adjusted for any wild rules shown in the mode's rules panel). Bids well above the expectation are risky.
- Anchor on your own dice. If you hold three 4s, a bid on 4s is safer for you than it looks to others.
- Raise the face, not the count. Changing to a higher face at the same count keeps bids low and pushes the risk to the next player.
- Challenge late bids aggressively. When bids climb past what the table can plausibly hold, call.
- Spot On is a precision tool. Only use it when the bid sits right on the expected count and your own dice support it; it's a much narrower target than calling Liar.
- In Traditional, count ones twice. Wild ones inflate every face's total, so bids that look risky in Basic can be safe in Traditional.
Liar's Poker
Rules
- A Texas Hold'em variant where you bet bullets, not chips.
- On your turn, Call to add a bullet or Fold and pull the trigger with the bullets already bet.
- Shared cards are revealed one by one as bullets are added, until the final showdown.
- Coward's Fold (once per game): escape on your first turn by pulling the trigger with only one bullet.
- Switch (once per game): swap one of your cards before the table is fully revealed. As of July 2026, the Switch options decrease from 4 to 2 as the round progresses.
- All-In: forces everyone to bet everything or fold and face the gun. As of July 2026, you can't declare All-In on the same turn you use Switch.
Strategy
- Use Coward's Fold with weak starting hands. One bullet is the best odds you'll get.
- Switch early when you're one card away from a strong hand; options shrink later in the round.
- All-In is pressure. Use it when you're confident or when others have already shown fear.
- Count outs. Basic poker knowledge (pairs, straights, flushes) applies.
Liar's Slots
Rules
- Players take turns spinning the slots and declaring how many Hearts they've got (1, 2, 3, or JACKPOT if all four match).
- One slot is always visible to everyone, so bluff with that in mind.
- If someone calls LIAR and the claim was false, the liar faces the Death Spin: no Heart means instant death. If they survive, their last claim's points are removed.
- Reach 5 points to unlock EXECUTE. Only the single highest-scoring player can use it.
- Double Spin (added December 2025): each player can spin again once per game.
Strategy
- Use the visible slot. If it isn't a Heart, a JACKPOT claim is an instant lie; claims must be consistent with what everyone can see.
- Small lies are safer. Claiming two Hearts when you have one is easier to sell than a fake JACKPOT.
- Save Double Spin for when you're close to 5 points or when a bad spin would leave you exposed.
- Race to Execute. Once someone can execute, the whole table's incentives shift toward catching them.
Characters
Characters are cosmetic, each with their own animations and voice. The roster includes Foxy, Bristle, Scubby, Toar, Cupcake, Gerk, plus Ejder and Tusk (added with Liar's Deck 2 in March 2025), plus Rasim Holloway and Dubai (added July 2026). Pick whoever you like; there's no gameplay advantage.
Ranked and Seasons
Season | Dates | Notes
Season 3 | From 18 Dec 2025 | Began with the Liar's Slots update, which added matchmaking for Slots
Season 4 | 22 Apr 2026 to 2 Jul 2026 | Progress wiped at start; top players became Immortal
Season 5 | From 2 Jul 2026 | Fresh start; automatic matchmaking replaced server-based matchmaking
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Calling "Liar" on instinct. In Liar's Deck, the caller takes the gun if they're wrong.
- Bluffing every turn. Predictable liars get caught; mix in truthful plays.
- Ignoring the visible slot in Liar's Slots.
- Wasting once-per-game tools on low-stakes turns.
- Tilting after a loss. Rounds are quick; reset and play the next one cleanly.
Advanced Tips
- Talk strategically. Claiming confidence (or fake nervousness) over voice chat changes how others read you.
- Target the weakest link. Players with several surviving pulls or one poison bottle are under more pressure; make them decide.
- Know when to stay quiet. Silence can be as revealing as talking; be consistent.
- Use the rules panel. Each mode's rules are available in-game; check it before playing a new variant because rules change with updates.
