How to meet quota and keep your crew alive in Lethal Company: the day loop, the terminal, moons, store items, every major creature's counter, and what changed in the Version 80 "Blooming Update".

Researched September 2026 — current as of Version 80 "The Blooming Update" (April 2026). The game is in Early Access and Zeekerss has said Version 85 should be more content-focused. Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.

Quick Start

  • Meet the quota. You get three days to collect enough scrap value, then sell it at The Company (71-Gordion) before the deadline. Miss it and the whole crew is fired (run over).
  • Sell on the last day. The Company's buying rate is lowest early in the cycle and reaches 100% on the final day. Only sell early if you absolutely must.
  • Scan everything. Right-click to scan: it shows scrap value and nearby entities. Leave cheap, heavy junk if you're pressed for time.
  • The ship leaves at midnight. Anyone not aboard at 12 AM is left behind and dies. Plan to be back before late evening.
  • Keep someone on the terminal. A "ship operator" watching the monitor can open/close secure doors, disable turrets and mines, and warn about monsters. It is the single biggest survival boost.
  • Buy flashlights, walkie-talkies, and a shovel first. Cheap, and they fix most early deaths.
  • Recover bodies if you can. Dead crewmates cost you a fine unless their bodies come back to the ship.
  • If everyone dies, you lose all scrap on the ship (except what was already sold). A single survivor keeps it.
  • Start on the free moons. Experimentation, Assurance, and Vow teach the basics before you pay for Rend, Dine, or Titan.

The Day Loop

Step | What to do

Orbit | Use the terminal to route to a moon (moons, then type the moon name and confirm). Buy items from store.

Land | The ship lands in the morning. Check the weather (shown on the moon list).

Explore | Head through the main entrance or a fire exit into the interior. Split into pairs.

Loot | Grab scrap, scan values, bring it back to the ship. Watch your weight (it slows you and drains stamina).

Leave | Pull the lever before midnight or when it's too dangerous.

Sell | On the final day, route to 71-Gordion and put scrap on the counter; ring the bell.

Terminal Commands

Command | Effect

help | Lists terminal commands

moons | Moon list with weather and route costs

store | Buy items and ship upgrades

scan | Counts scrap remaining on the current moon and its approximate value

view monitor | Toggles the radar map

switch [player] | Switches radar to a specific crewmate

ping [radar booster name] | Beeps a radar booster

flash [radar booster name] | Flashes a radar booster to stun nearby monsters

bestiary | Entity entries you have scanned

storage | Retrieves stored decorations

Door codes (e.g. a3) | Opens/closes secure doors, disables turrets and landmines temporarily

Version 70 overhauled the radar with a face cam and 2D sprites, making the operator's job much easier.

Moons

Moon | Difficulty | Route cost | Notes

41-Experimentation | Easy | Free | Facility interior; practice moon

220-Assurance | Easy | Free | Facility; rocky, lots of outdoor paths

56-Vow | Easy | Free | Facility or Mineshaft; forest moon with a dam

21-Offense | Intermediate | Free | Mineshaft most common

61-March | Intermediate | Free | Facility; largest free interior. Exterior completely reworked in v80

20-Adamance | Intermediate | Free | Facility; forest moon

5-Embrion | Intermediate | Paid (cheap) | Barren rocky moon; Old Birds are a common threat

85-Rend | Hard | 550 | Manor; snowy, blizzard risk

7-Dine | Hard | 600 | Manor; high value

8-Titan | Hard | 700 | Facility; one of the largest interiors in the game; very high value

68-Artifice | Very hard | Paid (the most expensive route) | Top-tier loot; dangerous

71-Gordion | Special | Free | The Company; sell scrap here, no entities

Route costs for Rend, Dine, and Titan are from the wiki; Embrion and Artifice prices could not be confirmed, so check moons in your terminal for current prices and sales.

Weather

Weather | Effect

Rainy | Quicksand forms outdoors

Stormy | Lightning strikes metal objects (including what you carry)

Foggy | Reduced visibility outdoors

Flooded | Water rises through the day

Eclipsed | More monsters, outdoor monsters spawn immediately; higher value but very dangerous

Weather is rolled per moon each day, so if your target moon is Eclipsed or Flooded, consider a different one.

Store Items

Item | Price | Why buy

Walkie-talkie | 12 | Talk to the operator from inside the facility

Flashlight | 15 | Basic light

Lockpicker | 20 | Opens locked doors

Pro-flashlight | 25 | Brighter, longer battery

Shovel | 30 | Melee weapon; kills small creatures

Stun grenade | 30 | Stuns most enemies

Spray paint | 50 | Mark routes

Extension ladder | 60 | Reach ledges, temporary

Radar-booster | 60 | Remote radar point; can be flashed to stun

Boombox | 60 | Music; distracts some creatures

TZP-Inhalant | 120 | Speed and stamina boost

Zap gun | 400 | Stuns enemies from range

Jetpack | 700 | Flight; can explode if overheated

Prices from the wiki; the terminal store runs frequent sales. Ship upgrades (Teleporter, Inverse Teleporter, Loud Horn, Signal Translator) and the Company Cruiser vehicle are also in the store — the Teleporter is the best early upgrade because it pulls a dead or trapped crewmate back to the ship.

The utility slot (new in v80)

Version 80 added a dedicated utility slot for purchased tools, so carrying a flashlight or walkie no longer steals as much inventory space from scrap.

The store also sells Weed Killer, which clears the Vain Shroud weeds that mark a Kidnapper Fox's territory; check the terminal for its current price.

Entities and Counters

Indoors

Entity | Threat | Counter

Hoarding Bug | Low | Leave its nest alone; drop items it wants. It attacks if you steal from it.

Snare Flea | Medium | Drops on your head from ceilings; teammates hit it off. Don't go alone.

Bunker Spider | High | Webs block halls. Kill with shovels in a group, or avoid.

Hygrodere (slime) | Medium | Slow and cannot be killed; walk around it and never let it corner you in a dead end.

Thumper | High | Fast on straight lines, bad at turns. Break line of sight around corners.

Coil-Head | High | Moves only when unobserved. Keep eyes on it and back away.

Bracken | High | Don't stare at it too long; look at it briefly to make it retreat.

Jester | Very high | When it cranks up, leave the building immediately.

Nutcracker | High | Detects movement when its eye is open. Stand still.

Spore Lizard | Low | Mostly harmless; sprint away.

Butler | High | Appears in the Manor; attacks when alone with it. Stay in pairs.

Barber | High | Moves to the beat of its drum; listen for it.

Ghost Girl | Deadly | Only one player sees her; stay away from the haunted player.

Masked | High | Mimics a crewmate; ask suspicious "teammates" to speak on the walkie or answer a question.

Outdoors

Entity | Threat | Counter

Eyeless Dog | Very high | Blind, hunts by sound. Walk silently, don't talk.

Forest Keeper | Very high | Giant; hide inside or under objects, or avoid open ground.

Earth Leviathan | High | Burrows; move when the ground rumbles.

Baboon Hawk | Medium | Pack creatures; stay grouped, fight back with shovels.

Old Bird | Very high | Mechanical; hide indoors until it moves away.

Giant Sapsucker (v70) | High | Protects its eggs; don't steal them with the bird nearby.

Circuit Bees | Medium | Don't take the hive unless you can outrun them.

Tulip Snake | Low | Daytime flyer; can lift players into the air.

Kidnapper Fox (returned in v80) | High | Drags players; stay together and fight it off.

Backwater Gunkfish, Feiopars, Cadaver Bloom (new in v80) | Varies | New forest-moon creatures; study them with the bestiary and adapt.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Selling early. You lose a large percentage of value.
  • Carrying too much weight. You'll be slow and run out of stamina when chased.
  • Talking near Eyeless Dogs. Voice chat is proximity audio; they hear you.
  • Leaving the operator empty. Without an operator, secure doors, turrets, and landmines are much deadlier.
  • Staring at the Bracken. Look away after a moment.
  • Stealing from a Hoarding Bug in front of it. It will attack.
  • Staying past midnight. The ship leaves without you.

Advanced Tips

  • Scrap efficiency: prioritize high-value, lightweight items. The scan command tells you if the moon is worth staying on.
  • Teleporter use: teleport crew back from dangerous spots, and bring bodies home to avoid fines.
  • Inverse Teleporter: sends crew into a random location inside the facility, saving travel time on huge interiors like Titan.
  • Eclipsed runs: only for experienced crews; high risk, high reward.
  • Company Cruiser: a truck you can buy to carry scrap across big outdoor maps. Watch out for flipping and crashes.
  • Graphics and accessibility options (v80): Version 80 added new settings; check them if you get motion sickness or low frame rates.
  • Mods: the community uses mod managers and Thunderstore for mods like bigger lobbies. Keep everyone on the same mod list and game version, and expect mods to break after big updates like v80.
