Researched September 2026 — current as of the September 2026 weekly maintenance (service ending 3 February 2027). Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.

Status notice: KOG announced KurtzPel's service termination on 29 July 2026. KP load-up (buying premium currency) was suspended after that day's maintenance. The game shuts down on 3 February 2027 at 06:00 UTC, and after that you can't log in, and Steam will stop offering the download. A refund inquiry period runs from 3 February 2027 06:00 UTC to 5 March 2027, and the support center and website stay up until then. Until the shutdown, all currency and items you own can be used freely. The game is still free to play and in Early Access on Steam until then.

Quick Start

  • Spend your KP before 3 February 2027. No new KP can be bought, but what you have can be spent. Anything left at shutdown is gone unless it qualifies under KOG's refund process. Read the termination notice and contact support during the inquiry window.
  • Grab the Integrated Season 12 Pass if you want it. It's on sale for 1,000 KP until the 2 December 2026 maintenance.
  • Every character carries two Karmas (weapon specializations) and can swap between them at any time mid-fight. Learning to swap is the core skill.
  • Know the two roles: Breaker and Slayer. Breakers build up enemy break or stagger. Slayers deal the damage. Swap to your Slayer Karma once the enemy is broken.
  • Log in for attendance events. Recent events handed out Karma Marble Select Cubes, Radiant Magic Stones, Abyss Map entry tickets, Resurrection Stones, and AP/GP boosts.
  • Queue PvP with a partner. PvP is built around 2v2. A duo with complementary Karmas beats two random solo players.
  • Weekly maintenance is Wednesdays around 05:00 UTC, and sometimes it's just a one-hour stabilization window. Log out safely beforehand.
  • Expect small queues. The population is low in the final months. Play at peak hours for your region.

Shutdown Timeline

Date (UTC) | What happens

29 July 2026 | Termination announced. KP load-up disabled after maintenance.

Until 2 December 2026 | Integrated Season 12 Pass on sale (1,000 KP)

3 February 2027, 06:00 | Service ends. Login and in-game support stop, and the Steam download is removed.

3 February – 5 March 2027 | Refund inquiry period through KOG's dedicated support channel

5 March 2027 | Support center and webpage close

What to do now:

  • Spend KP on anything you actually want to use in the remaining months.
  • Use all your consumables, boost items, and entry tickets. They have no value after February.
  • Screenshot your character and collection if you want a keepsake.
  • If you think you're owed a refund, keep your purchase receipts and read KOG's termination notice on Steam for eligibility.

Weapons and Karmas

KurtzPel has seven weapon types. Each has its own moveset, including "chase" follow-ups after lifts or rushes:

Weapon | Signature moves (from in-game achievements) | Feel

Great Sword | Spin Attack, Special Attack (Break) at max charge, chase after Lift or Rush | Heavy hits, strong breaking

Gauntlet | Multi-Fist, Combo Charged Blow, chase after Energy Blast or Rush & Kick | Close-range brawler

Staff | Multi-Fireball, Flame Wheel, Charged Lightning, Frost Nova | Ranged mage with area control

Longbow | Multi-Shot, Aimed (Charge) Shot, chase after Lift & Shoot or Cover Fire | Long-range pressure

Dual Sword | Multi-Stab Attack, Moon Slash, chase after Upper Slash or Rush Upper Slash | Fast combos

Elemental Buster | Rapid Shot, Burst Shot, chase after Lift or Charge | Ranged gun-style damage

Giant Hammer | Chain Swing, Charge Attack IV, chase after Rising Swing or Rush Attack | Slow, huge hits

Karmas are named specializations built on these weapons, each with its own skills. Examples include Sword Taliah, Dance of Wind, Diabolic Witch, Blazing Fist, Dual Soul, and Sacred Guardian. Karmas level up as you play them, and there's an achievement for getting each one to max level. You equip two Karmas and swap between them in battle.

Building a Karma pair

  • One Breaker and one Slayer: Open with the Breaker to fill the enemy's break gauge, then swap to the Slayer for damage while they're broken.
  • Cover range gaps: A melee Karma paired with a ranged one (Staff, Longbow, Elemental Buster) lets you punish kiting players.
  • Karma Marble Select Cubes from events let you pick which Karma's marbles you get. Put them into the Karma you actually main.

Core Combat

  • Lift and chase: Many moves launch the enemy (Lift), and a follow-up "chase attack" extends the combo. This is where most damage comes from.
  • Break gauge: Landing Breaker attacks fills the target's break. A broken target is open to heavy Slayer damage. The game tracks "Break contribution" and "Damage contribution" separately in results.
  • Swap timing: Swapping Karma mid-combo is the main skill ceiling. Practice swapping at the top of a lift so you can continue the combo with the second Karma.
  • Defense: Dodge through attacks, and don't swing wildly into a player who's charging a big attack.
  • Resurrection Stones let you get back up in PvE, so keep a stock for hard missions.

Game Modes

PvP (Battle Missions, 2v2)

Mode | Goal

Deathmatch | Score more KOs than the enemy team

Capture the Flag | Grab the flag on the battlefield and score it

Conquest | Hold the zone at the end of the match

PvP ranks you through Chaser ranks (the achievements track D, C, B, and A). Play ranked at your region's peak hours so you're matched against players near your rank.

PvE (Epic and Repeat Missions)

  • Epic Missions tell KurtzPel's story through fights with major enemies and conversations with Hero NPCs.
  • Repeat Missions have multiple difficulties and a small chance at special rewards such as accessories.
  • Abyss Map entries (tickets from events) give access to harder content.
  • Affinity: Hero NPCs, including Lire Eryuell, Ethan Soulguard, Marian Vendor, Jin Kaien, Kien Astrea, Crim Plie, Ensher Renhart, and Lime Serenity, have affinity levels that go from "First Meeting" up to "Soul Mate".

Currencies and Items

Item | What it's for

KP | Premium currency. Can't be bought since 29 July 2026, but you can still spend it.

GP | In-game currency earned by playing. Boosted by GP boosts.

AP | Second earned currency/points from matches. Boosted by AP boosts.

Karma Marbles | Karma-related progression item (handed out as Select Cubes in events)

Radiant Magic Stones | Upgrade material from events. Check the item tooltip for what it feeds into.

Supply Boxes (Nightmare, Powered Armor, Officer Uniform, Checkmate, Dark Soul, …) | Cosmetic lootboxes

Strategic Command (3, 7, or 30 days) | Timed buff items

Dye Cubes / Dye Select Cubes | Color customization

Equipment modification is how you power up gear. Modify often, since resources have no value after shutdown.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Sitting on KP or consumables. They disappear on 3 February 2027.
  • Playing one Karma only. The game is built around swapping. A single-Karma player is easy to read.
  • Swapping to Slayer before the break. You'll do far less damage.
  • Going into PvP solo in off-hours. Queues are thin, and you'll get mismatched.
  • Skipping attendance events. The rewards are free progression.
  • Ignoring maintenance notices. Log out safely before Wednesday maintenance to protect your data.

Advanced Tips

  • Chase attacks are free damage. Every weapon has a specific chase follow-up after its lift or rush move. Learn yours.
  • Max-charge breaks (like the Great Sword's special) are the fastest way to break a PvE boss.
  • In CTF, split roles. One player carries and one peels. The ranged Karma should peel.
  • In Conquest, contest late. Only the end-of-match holder wins, so save your cooldowns for the last push.
  • Use weekend boost events (30% AP/GP boosts ran on recent event weekends) to level Karmas fast.

FAQ

When does KurtzPel shut down? 3 February 2027 at 06:00 UTC.

Can I still buy KP? No. KP load-up was suspended on 29 July 2026. KP you already have can be spent until shutdown.

Will I get a refund? KOG runs a refund inquiry period from 3 February to 5 March 2027 through a dedicated support channel. Eligibility depends on their policy, so check the termination announcement.

Can I still download it? Yes, until the shutdown. After 3 February 2027 it's removed from the Steam store.

Is there an offline mode? No. KurtzPel is online-only, and it can't be played after shutdown.

Is KurtzPel pay-to-win? Premium items are mainly cosmetics, boxes, boosts, and season passes. PvP skill and Karma mastery matter far more. With KP purchases disabled, the point is moot now.
