# Who's Your Daddy?!: Complete Guide

How to win as both Daddy and Baby in Who's Your Daddy?!, what the house and maps contain, how the modes work, and how to hunt down the secret achievements.

*Researched September 2026 — current as of the "Ready for the Big Leagues" achievement patch (September 27, 2025); the developer paused content updates in June 2025. Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.*

## Quick Start

1. **It is asymmetric hide-and-seek with physics.** One or more Daddies try to keep the Baby alive until the timer runs out. Babies try to find a way to get hurt before it does. Everything in the house is a weapon, a tool or a distraction.
2. **Up to 8 players.** One host plus up to 7 friends online, or local split screen. You can have several Babies and several Daddies in a match.
3. **Item spawns are randomized.** Crucial items move between matches, so memorize rooms and hazard types, not exact spawn spots.
4. **Daddy: lock down the house first.** Cabinet locks, outlet covers, closing doors and gates, and moving dangerous objects up and away buy you the most time early.
5. **Baby: stamina is your real limit.** Crawling, climbing and carrying drain energy, and running out ragdolls you. Rest before the big move.
6. **The basement controls the house.** The main water valve shuts off the house's water and the circuit breaker cuts the power. Both are huge Daddy tools (and huge Baby targets to turn back on).
7. **Watch the pets.** Fudge the dog is rideable and eats almost anything, Mr. Taco the cat eats items and jumps walls, and a bear shows up outside hunting for meat.
8. **You are playing the remake.** The Steam app received a full remake with far more content than the 2016 release. Achievements are tagged "(Remake)" or "(Classic)" depending on which version they belong to.
9. **Development is paused.** Evil Tortilla Games announced in June 2025 that no further content updates are planned while they work on a new game; the last patch (September 2025) fixed an achievement.

## Version and Platform Notes

| Item | Status (September 2026) |
|---|---|
| Original release | Early Access December 2015, full release May 13, 2016 |
| Remake | Launched December 2020 and expanded through a long run of updates |
| Platforms | PC/Mac/Linux on Steam, plus Xbox, PlayStation and Android versions |
| Languages | Localization update in January 2025 added Chinese (Simplified/Traditional), Russian, German, Polish, Swedish, French, Danish, Spanish, Portuguese, Ukrainian, and a joke "BABY" language |
| Extras | Steam Trading Cards, an official soundtrack DLC, and two animated cartoon episodes (the second, "Hot Dog Day", in June 2025) |

## Game Modes

| Mode | What happens | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Daddy vs Baby | Baby must get hurt before the timer; Daddy must prevent it | The core game |
| Point Party | Everyone earns points by interacting with items; highest points by the time limit (or first to the point goal) wins | Big chaotic lobbies |
| Daddy's Nightmare | Dark, Halloween-flavored featured mode (restored in the late-2023 update) | Groups who know the house |
| Exploration | Explore the house with no timers or goals (added in the "Deep Lore" update, September 2024) | Secret and achievement hunting |
| Baby Daddy Academy | A smaller map built around the core mechanics, with an obstacle course for Babies, window blinds, a bus, a baby pool that needs supervision, and shovel/glue key items | Shorter, tighter matches |

Game rules are customizable in the lobby, so check the timer and settings before blaming balance.

## Core Mechanics

### Energy and ragdolls

Both characters use an energy resource. Running and jumping drain it; running out ragdolls you. The Baby's stamina drain was cut by half and recharge sped up by half in the late-2023 update, so Babies can make longer runs than in older videos. You can still jump while ragdolled, which helps you flop off ledges.

### Health, sickness and buffs

Babies can get sick from bad food and hazards, and Daddies can respond with pills ("Doctor Daddy" for 25 pills). Eating and drinking grants buffs and debuffs; stacking five unique buffs at once is an achievement. Feeding healthy food versus junk has different energy effects since the energy rework.

### Throwing and carrying

Thrown items follow an arc, which makes long throws (and knocking things off high shelves) easier. Daddies can pick up and carry the Baby; Babies can hold items and use them.

### Customization

Both characters have skins and perks, with more unlocked through achievements. Notable skins include:

| Skin | Character | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Tree Daddy | Daddy | "Tree form" removes sickness and gives damage immunity except fire |
| Seedling Baby | Baby | A loud shout that breaks objects and knocks characters away |
| NecroDaddy | Daddy | Spawns with a healing staff |
| ZomBaby | Baby | Reversed damage logic: sickness heals it |

The Deep Lore update added four more skins unlocked by its new achievements.

## The House: Hazards and Counters

The two-story house, garden, basement, attic and street hold over 67 interactive items. The big ones:

| Hazard | How the Baby uses it | How Daddy stops it |
|---|---|---|
| Power outlets and forks | Stick a fork in the outlet | Cover outlets; hide forks; flip the circuit breaker |
| Bleach and cleaners | Drink them | Lock cabinets; carry bottles away |
| Oven and stove | Climb in or turn on burners | Keep the kitchen closed; watch burner lights (they glow orange when on) |
| Blender | Blend anything and drink it | Unplug it or move it high |
| Swimming pool and flooding sinks | Drown | Lock the pool gate; shut the main water valve |
| Toaster | Drop it plugged in into water ("Toasted") | Unplug and stash |
| Nail gun | Shoot yourself | Hide it early |
| Flour jar | Throw flour to blind Daddy | Grab it first |
| Woodchipper | Self-explanatory | Guard the yard |
| Lawnmower and car | Get run over or drive | Keep keys and yard secured |
| Gas and fire | Ignite gas | Soap works on gas; flooding extinguishes fire |
| Plastic bag, pool balls | Suffocate or choke | Clear them away |

Daddy gadgets worth knowing: the **Baby Restrainy** (restraint device), the **Baby Disably** (a shock toy that drains Baby energy), the **baby gate** (Babies must solve a small puzzle to get past), the **vacuum** (makes Babies drop held items), the **A.A.E.D.** defibrillator in the baby's room, and **DadMart**, the TV shopping system in Daddy's bedroom.

## Playing Daddy

- **Open with a sweep, not a chase.** Close doors, lock cabinets and cover outlets on your way to wherever the Baby spawned.
- **Go to the basement early.** Shutting off water or power removes whole categories of hazards (drowning, flooding, electrocution) at once. Babies will try to undo it, so check it periodically.
- **Hold the Baby when in doubt.** A carried Baby cannot use items. Combined with restraints, this stalls a lot of time.
- **Deny, then relocate.** Moving an item out of reach is often faster than guarding it. Put dangerous items somewhere high or throw them into a room you have locked.
- **With multiple Daddies, zone the house.** One upstairs, one downstairs, one outside. Babies win by splitting attention.
- **Watch the pets.** Fudge can carry a Baby around; the bear hunts for meat outside; the cat eats items and jumps walls.

## Playing Baby

- **Scout silently.** Your first minute should be about finding which hazards spawned where, not committing.
- **Blind first, then act.** The flour jar or a thrown object to break line of sight often wins the game on its own.
- **Bait and switch.** Make noise in one room, then crawl to another. Daddies chase sound.
- **Undo Daddy's work.** Turning the water or power back on in the basement reopens every drowning and electrocution option.
- **Use rides.** Fudge the dog can carry you; toys like the tricycle move you fast.
- **Save stamina for the finish.** The worst loss is ragdolling one step from the outlet.

## Secrets and Achievements

There are 44 Steam achievements across both versions. Some key and rare ones:

| Achievement | How |
|---|---|
| Baby's First... / I'm Your Daddy. | First win as Baby / Daddy (remake) |
| Deez Buffs Make Me Go Nuts | Have 5 unique buffs at once |
| Toasted | Win by dropping a plugged-in toaster into water |
| Attempted Vehicular Infanticide | Run a Baby over with a lawnmower |
| Plumber's Apprentice | Unclog a toilet with the plunger |
| Ready for the Big Leagues | Score on the basketball net (fixed September 2025) |
| Acrobatically Inclined | Swing through the hoop |
| Escape Lookout Cove | Dig out Lookout Cove |
| Found The Control Room | Find the hidden control room |
| Found Another Daddy | In the basement of the control room (fixed January 2025) |
| Found Mommy, Escaped The House, Dug Straight Down | Deep Lore secrets; "Dug Straight Down" means falling into the lava |
| Disobedient | Ignore the note |
| Riding Dirty | Drink Daddy drinks while driving the baby car |

Deep Lore (September 2024) made the backyard rock breakable and opened new closet features in the baby room and upstairs. Use Exploration mode to hunt these secrets without a timer. Community guides on Steam walk through Found Mommy and Found Another Daddy step by step if you get stuck.

Classic-tagged achievements ("A True Gentleman", "Child Prodigy", "Dad of The Year" and so on) come from the original version and are the reason completionists still see ultra-low unlock rates.

## Common Mistakes to Avoid

- **Daddy chasing instead of securing.** Every second spent running after the Baby is a second the house stays dangerous.
- **Forgetting the outdoors.** Pool, mower, woodchipper, road and bear all live outside.
- **Baby wasting stamina early.** Crawl, don't sprint, until you have a plan.
- **Ignoring buffs and debuffs.** Food and drink effects change your speed and stamina.
- **Not checking settings.** Timer length and rules are customizable; a mismatched lobby can feel "unwinnable" for one side.
- **Assuming old videos are current.** The remake changed energy, ragdolls, rooms and items many times.

## Advanced Tips

- **Two-hazard plays.** Babies should aim for setups that need two Daddy fixes (water plus electricity, like the toaster) so one Daddy cannot answer both.
- **Daddy lock rotation.** Revisit the basement valve and breaker every lap of the house.
- **Local split screen** works for couch play; controllers are fully supported.
- **Performance.** Physics runs at a fixed 60 fps standard; if the game runs poorly, lower graphics rather than hunting for a physics setting that no longer exists.
- **Achievement hunting.** Do counters like "Daddy Let Me Drown" (25 drownings) and "Life's A Bleach" in private lobbies with a friend.

## FAQ

**How do you win as the Baby?**
Get hurt by a hazard before the round timer ends, despite Daddy's efforts. Daddy wins if you survive until time runs out.

**How many players can play?**
Up to 8 online (you plus 7 friends). Local split screen is also supported; the developer's Xbox launch notes list up to 4 players locally.

**Is Who's Your Daddy?! still being updated?**
Content updates are paused. In June 2025 Evil Tortilla Games said they are focusing on a new game and no further content updates are planned; they still shipped a small achievement fix in September 2025.

**Is there crossplay?**
The game has launched on Xbox, PlayStation and Android in addition to Steam. Check the in-game lobby browser for which platforms you can join, as support has varied by platform and update.

**How do I get Found Mommy or Found Another Daddy?**
They are Deep Lore secrets tied to the hidden areas (the control room and what lies beneath it). Load Exploration mode so you can search without a timer.

**What is the difference between Remake and Classic achievements?**
Achievements tagged "(Classic)" are from the original 2016 version; "(Remake)" ones belong to the current game.
