The Henry Stickmin Collection: Complete Guide & 100% Checklist

A guide to all six games in The Henry Stickmin Collection: how the choose-your-path format works, how branches carry between episodes, how to clean up every fail, bio, rank, and ending, and how to approach the 82 Steam achievements without spoiling every joke.

Researched September 2026 — current as of the Steam release (August 7, 2020, PuffballsUnited / published by Innersloth). The collection has had no major content updates since. Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.

Quick Start

  1. Failing is the content. Every wrong choice plays a unique (usually hilarious) fail animation. The collection tracks them, and several achievements ask you to see all of them. Don't be afraid to pick the silliest option.
  2. Play in order. Breaking the Bank, Escaping the Prison, Stealing the Diamond, Infiltrating the Airship, Fleeing the Complex, then Completing the Mission. Later games reference earlier ones constantly.
  3. You can't lose progress. A fail simply sends you back to the choice. There's no life counter.
  4. Branches matter from the Airship on. Infiltrating the Airship and Fleeing the Complex have multiple paths and endings, and Completing the Mission builds on the endings you choose.
  5. Hover and look around. Some screens hide clickable secrets and achievements outside the obvious choice buttons.
  6. Collect bios. Each game has character bios to find. They're tracked separately from fails.
  7. Use the menus. The collection shows your fail and ending progress per game, so you can see what's missing.

The Six Games

# Game Structure Unique fails (per achievements)
1 Breaking the Bank Short and linear, fully reanimated for the collection 5 ("Pentafail")
2 Escaping the Prison Linear with several choice points 18 ("Prisoneer")
3 Stealing the Diamond Linear, longer 40 ("Failsterpiece")
4 Infiltrating the Airship Branching, multiple endings 60 ("Frequent Failer")
5 Fleeing the Complex Branching, multiple endings 60 ("Notorious Failster")
6 Completing the Mission New for the collection, about three times larger than any earlier game, many endings 164 ("The Story Ends")

Escaping the Prison, Stealing the Diamond, Infiltrating the Airship, and Fleeing the Complex were remastered with redone backgrounds and sound effects. Completing the Mission is the brand-new finale that caps off the series.

Who's Who (Light Spoilers)

Character Role
Henry Stickmin The silent protagonist; thief, prisoner, and eventually a lot more depending on your choices
Charles Calvin Enthusiastic government helicopter pilot and Henry's most frequent ally ("calling in your buddy Charles")
Ellie Rose A fellow inmate who can become Henry's partner in Fleeing the Complex
The Toppat Clan A top-hat-wearing criminal organization that Henry keeps running into from the Airship onward
Reginald Copperbottom Leader of the Toppat Clan
Right Hand Man Reginald's second-in-command, a recurring rival
General Galeforce The government commander who recruits or opposes Henry depending on the path

Your relationship with the government and the Toppat Clan is the main axis of the branching: several paths put Henry on the government's side, others put him inside the Clan, and some leave him working solo. That's the easiest way to keep track of which endings you haven't seen yet.

How Choices Work

Branching Paths and Ranks

From Infiltrating the Airship onward, the story splits. Finishing a path gives a rank (shown on Steam as abbreviations like "Rank: GSPI" or "Rank: CA"). Fleeing the Complex's ranks include:

Rank Meaning
CA Convict Allies
PD Presumed Dead
GI Ghost Inmate
TB The Betrayed
IRO International Rescue Operative

The Steam list has 15 rank achievements in total. Besides the five above, they are SE, LU, BBO, IoaS, JPE, UB, GSPI, PBT, RPE, and RBH, earned on the ending screens of the earlier branching games (Infiltrating the Airship's government-side ending, for example, is GSPI). The game spells out each rank's full name when you earn it, so use that screen to tick them off.

Completing the Mission

Strategy: play each branch through once for the story, then go back specifically for fails. Trying to collect every fail on your first pass through a branch slows the pacing and spoils the fun of the next reveal.

Greasy Delight "Rub some butter on that bad boy."
brUGHNO "Gettin' real sick of seeing this guy."

You Win! "Good job!"

A handful more (Spooked, LOLOLOL!!11, tl; dr, BRAAAGH!!, Easy Achievement, braaagghh.., Respects, aeiou, BEEEEEEEE, Multiverse Correction, BRRYYESS!) have no hint at all. Most of these are gag fails or reactions, so the "try every option" rule covers them.

These come from clicking hidden objects, choosing specific fail options, or seeing particular scenes. If you want to find them yourself, the general rule is: click on anything that looks interactive, try every option in every scene, and pay attention to jokes that call back to earlier games.

Tips for Each Game

Breaking the Bank

Very short. See all five fails ("Pentafail") in one sitting.

Escaping the Prison

Every choice screen has a few options; most are fails. Clear the list methodically — pick options left to right at each screen.

Stealing the Diamond

Longer, with more choice screens. It's the first game where it pays to keep a mental note of which option you haven't tried at each screen.

Infiltrating the Airship

The first fully branching game. Paths split early, and your choices (who you side with) define both the rank you get and how later games continue. Finish one path, then go back and take the other options.

Fleeing the Complex

Also branching, with five ranks. Some paths involve teaming up with other characters. The rank names above tell you roughly which direction each path goes.

Completing the Mission

The largest game by far, with 164 unique fails and 16 endings. Expect several hours for a full cleanup. The menus make it easy to see which ending you still need.
