TFT Set 18 — Blossom / Adaptor (Master Yi) Comp Guide

Set 18: Enchanted Wilds · Patch 18.2b · Updated Sept 16, 2026

The strongest statistical comp in the set right now: ~79% top-4 rate, 3.01 average placement. It's a Master Yi reroll board that abuses the Blossom trait to snowball Wisps into free stats.

Master Yi

Why this comp is strong

Blossom gives your champions bonus AD, AP, and max Health — and it empowers your Wisps after every combat. Since Wisps are the set's core economy/power mechanic, Blossom turns your shop into a compounding engine. Patch 18.2 also lowered Wisp costs across the board, so you keep gold for XP and rolling.

Master Yi is a 3-cost Adaptor. His passive makes every third attack a Double Strike (hits twice), and on takedown he gains a burst of move speed. His Adaptor bonus lets you choose:

Core board (Level 7–8)

Unit Cost Role Target star
Master Yi 3 Primary carry ★★★
Kog'Maw 3 Secondary carry ★★★
Yorick 3 Frontline / Adaptor ★★★
Krug 3 Frontline ★★★
Vi 3 Main tank ★★★
Sett 3 Bruiser ★★
Nidalee (AP) 4 Flex carry ★★
Gromp 4 Level 8 add ★★

Flex slots: Sentinel (4-cost), Karma (early game filler).

If you highroll 4-costs, you can push 5 Blossom for maximum Wisp greed.

Items

Master Yi — primary carry

  1. Guinsoo's Rageblade (core — stacks with Double Strike)
  2. Edge of Night
  3. Titan's Resolve

Yi wants attack speed above all else. Despite his Adaptor heal bonus, one healing/sustain item is very reasonable if you want him as a drain tank.

Kog'Maw — secondary carry

Spear of Shojin · Rabadon's Deathcap · Jeweled Gauntlet

Kog'Maw

Nidalee (AP flex)

Guinsoo's Rageblade · Spear of Shojin · Rabadon's Deathcap

Vi — tank

Warmog's Armor · Gargoyle Stoneplate ×2

Positioning

BACK [ Master Yi ] [ Nidalee ] [ Kog'Maw ]

MID [ Yorick ]

FRONT [ Sett ] [ Krug ] [ Vi ]

Keep Yi in the back corner so he walks into the fight after your frontline has engaged and soaked the first burst.

Roll plan

Stage 2 — open strong

Play around a Master Yi opener that can win streak. Blossom is very powerful early. Prioritize win-streaking for gold and item drops.

Stage 3 — build the shell

Add your Adaptor units and frontline. Finish Master Yi's items by the end of this stage — he should be fully itemized before you commit to rolling.

Stage 4 — the roll-down

Level to 7 and roll for:

Then slow roll at 7 to hit your 3-stars. Don't dump your whole bank at once — slow roll down to ~30–50 gold and let interest rebuild.

Stage 5+ — cap the board

Level to 8 and add Gromp. From Stage 5 onward, every other Wisp is a Combat Wisp, and Blossom has been empowering them all game — this is where the comp spikes hardest.

Wisp notes (important for this comp)

Quick decision rules

✅ Force this comp if: you hit early Master Yi copies, get an attack-speed item opener (Recurve Bow / Rageblade components), or find a Blossom emblem.

⚠️ Pivot away if: you're contested by 2+ players on Yi, or you're deep into Stage 4 without Yi ★★ and low on HP.

🔄 Alternative Blossom line (Fast 8): If you fall into AP items instead, play the Ahri / Sett / Ashe Blossom board — Ahri wants Eternal Pact + Spear of Shojin + Jeweled Gauntlet, Ashe wants Red Buff + Spear of Shojin + Last Whisper. Standard fast-8 econ: 4→5→6→7→8, never drop below 10 gold at 8.

Meta context

TFT Academy lists no S-tier comps on Patch 18.2b — it's an open meta. Other strong lines to keep in your pocket: Fae/Spyrkin Rengar, Aphelios + Nidalee (rising fast), Ahri Sett Blossom, Caitlyn Reroll, Solar Reroll, Riftbeasts.

Play flexible. Follow your items and augments rather than hard-forcing from Stage 1.
