Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered: Complete Guide

A full-game companion for the PC version of Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered: combat and traversal fundamentals, skill and gadget priorities, suits, collectibles, the story and DLC structure, and the PC settings that matter.

Researched September 2026 — current as of PC patch v4.630.0.0 (July 8, 2026, DualSense Edge support and FSR 3.1.4 / ML frame generation). Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.

Quick Start

  1. Dodge on the Spider-Sense cue, not on reflex. The white-red flash around Peter's head is your dodge window. A well-timed dodge sets up a counter and builds combo.
  2. Focus is both your healing and your finisher. Fill it by landing hits and perfect dodges; spend a chunk to heal or a full bar for an instant takedown. Don't hoard it at low health.
  3. Web-strike and Web Zip everywhere. Staying mobile in fights matters more than damage. Pulling yourself to enemies and back out keeps you off the ground where shooters and brutes hurt you.
  4. Buy gadget upgrades early. Web Shooter and Impact Web upgrades change fights; Trip Mine and Suspension Matrix handle big groups.
  5. Clear districts for tokens. Backpacks, Landmarks, Research Stations, Crimes, Bases and Challenges each give their own token type, and suit/gadget upgrades are bought with them.
  6. Unscramble every district's radio tower early. Each one reveals the local map icons, saving hours of searching.
  7. Suits and suit powers mix freely. Unlock a power once and you can use it with any suit.
  8. Point Launch and Point Launch Boost (triggered at the right moment) are the backbone of fast traversal. Learn them in the first hour.
  9. Stealth is optional but powerful. Web Strike takedowns from perches clear bases without triggering alarms.
  10. Play The City That Never Sleeps after the main story. The three DLC chapters (The Heist, Turf Wars, Silver Lining) are included and set after the ending.

Controls Overview

The game was designed around a controller, and most players on PC use one. Keyboard and mouse is fully supported and every action can be rebound under Settings > Controls, so check the exact bindings there rather than trusting a list.

Action (controller terms) What it does
Swing (hold R2) Web-swing; release at the bottom of the arc for speed
Jump (X/Cross) Jump, parkour, and the Point Launch timing
Attack (Square) Melee; hold to launch enemies
Dodge (Circle) Dodge on Spider-Sense; late dodge = perfect dodge
Web Shooter (R1) Fire the equipped gadget
Gadget wheel (hold L1) Choose a gadget
Point Launch (L2 + R2) Launch to a highlighted perch or point
Web Strike (Triangle) Zip straight to an enemy to open or continue a combo
Web Throw (L1 + R1) Throw objects and disarm

The game supports DualShock/DualSense (full DualSense haptics need a wired USB connection) and, from v4.630.0.0, improved DualSense Edge support.

Combat Fundamentals

The loop

  1. Web Zip in with a web strike to open combo.
  2. Chain light attacks, then launch enemies into the air (hold attack) and fight in the air where fewer enemies can hit you.
  3. Dodge on the Spider-Sense cue. A perfect dodge (late dodge) opens counters and builds Focus faster.
  4. Throw environmental objects with the Web Throw (the prompt appears on items like manholes, boxes and pipes).
  5. When Focus is full, use a Finisher on the biggest threat.

Enemy types and how to beat them

Enemy Answer
Basic thugs Standard combos, launch and air combo
Shield carriers Web them or web-zip over and attack from behind
Brutes Don't trade blows; dodge, web their feet, finish with heavy combos or gadgets
Rocket/shooters Close the gap immediately or pull their guns with Web Shooter
Snipers Take them out first; they punish standing still
Electric/whip enemies (later) Web first, then attack — direct punches get shocked
Sable agents Heavily armored; combine gadgets and throws

Gadgets

Gadget Best use
Web Shooter Pin enemies to walls, disable weapons
Impact Web Knockback and wall-pinning at range
Web Bomb Crowd control, webs groups
Electric Web Stuns multiple targets
Trip Mine Pulls groups together and webs them
Suspension Matrix Floats enemies up — great against groups
Concussive Blast Knockback in a radius, good defensive button
Spider-Drone Distraction and bonus damage

Upgrade gadgets through the Gadgets menu using tokens; most upgrades increase ammo and regeneration.

Skill Trees

There are three trees:

Tree Focus Early priority
Innovator Web and gadget interactions, Focus, crafting perks Focus gain and heal upgrades
Defender Ground combat, perfect dodge, counter moves Perfect Dodge and counter skills, Web Throw strength
Webslinger Traversal and aerial combat Point Launch Boost, air combat and web-zip tricks

General order: grab traversal and perfect-dodge skills first, then Focus/heal improvements, then everything else. You earn a skill point every level; by the end of the main story plus side content you will have most of the tree, so don't agonise over early picks.

Suits and Suit Powers

Suits unlock by level progression and by spending tokens. Each suit has a suit power — an active ability with a cooldown — and there are separate suit mods (passive perks, up to three slots).

Once unlocked, powers can be equipped with any suit. Well-known powers include Iron Arms (from the Iron Spider suit in Turf Wars — mechanical arms that deal heavy damage), Rock Out (from the Spider-Punk suit), Web Blossom (Advanced Suit), Negative Shockwave (Negative Suit) and Quad Damage. Other powers cover Focus gain, invulnerability, stealth, low gravity and electromagnetic pulses — check each suit's description in the Suits menu before buying.

Practical advice:

Difficulty Settings

Difficulty Notes
Friendly Story-focused, forgiving
Amazing Standard balance
Spectacular Enemies hit much harder
Ultimate New Game+ only — the hardest setting, enemies deal heavy damage

You can change difficulty at any time except Ultimate, which is locked to New Game+.

Story Outline (spoiler-light)

The main campaign runs through three acts:

DLC: The City That Never Sleeps (included)

Chapter Focus Notable unlocks
The Heist Black Cat and the Maggia New suits including Spider-UK and Scarlet Spider II
Turf Wars Hammerhead's war on the families Iron Spider, Spider Armor MK I, Mangaverse
Silver Lining Silver Sable and Hammerhead's endgame Into the Spider-Verse suit, Cyborg Spider-Man, Aaron Aikman armor

Play them after finishing the main story; each adds its own crimes, bases and challenges (the livestreaming villain Screwball runs a set of score challenges), and each has an achievement for 100% completion. The chapters released October 23, November 20 and December 21, 2018 on PS4 and are bundled in the PC version.

Collectibles and Side Activities

Activity Reward Tip
Backpacks Backpack tokens + lore items 55 total; each reveals Peter's history
Landmarks Landmark tokens 50 photo spots across the city
Research Stations Research tokens Harry's side quests; many need stealth or chases
Crimes Crime tokens Random street crimes; each district has a set to finish
Bases (Fisk, Demon, Sable, Prisoner) Base tokens Waves of enemies; stealth thins numbers first

Unscramble each district's radio tower first — it reveals the collectible icons in that district. Achievements to watch: "Backpacker" (all backpacks), "Sightseeing" (all landmarks), "R&D" (all Research Stations), "I Heart Manhattan" (100% every district) and "A Suit For All Seasons" (buy every suit).
