# Lies of P: Complete Guide

A soulslike guide for NEOWIZ's dark Pinocchio retelling: combat fundamentals (Perfect Guard, Fury attacks, Groggy), stats and builds, weapon assembly, P-Organ, boss order with tips for the main game and Overture, endings and the lies that decide them.

*Researched September 2026 — current as of Version 1.13.1.0 (5 August 2026). Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.*

## Quick Start

1. **Perfect Guard is the core skill.** Blocking at the last moment (Perfect Guard) negates damage, builds enemy stagger, and can break enemy weapons. Regular guarding still takes chip damage you can "regain" by attacking back.
2. **Red-glow attacks are Fury Attacks.** They can't be blocked normally. Perfect Guard or dodge them.
3. **Break the stance, then Fatal Attack.** When an enemy's health bar outline glows white (Groggy), hit it with a charged heavy attack to stagger, then press the attack button for a Fatal Attack.
4. **Upgrade the P-Organ with Quartz.** P-Organ upgrades give more Pulse Cell (heal) charges, better dodges, and more.
5. **Rest at Stargazers.** They are checkpoints, level-up points (via Sophia at Hotel Krat) and fast-travel.
6. **Your Ergo drops on death.** Get back to your death spot to recover it. Dying again before recovering loses it.
7. **Summon a Specter for bosses.** Use Star Fragments at the Specter summon stone near boss doors.
8. **Lie or tell the truth.** Dialogue choices affect Humanity and your ending. See Endings below.
9. **Keep your weapon's edge sharp.** Durability drops as you fight; use the Grinder to restore it.

## Stats

| Stat | Effect |
|---|---|
| Vitality | HP and Guard Regain; physical and elemental defense |
| Vigor | Stamina for attacks, dodges and guards |
| Capacity | Carry weight (+3 per point, no soft or hard cap) |
| Motivity | Physical damage scaling for strength weapons and Legion Arms |
| Technique | Physical damage scaling for dexterity weapons and Legion Arms |
| Advance | Elemental damage (never physical), Legion Arm common ability, and resistance to Break, Disruption and Shock |

Most stats show diminishing returns somewhere between 30 and 40 points, per the Fextralife wiki. Level through Sophia at Hotel Krat.

---

## Starting Paths

| Path | Style | Starting weapon |
|---|---|---|
| Path of the Cricket | Balanced | Puppet Saber |
| Path of the Bastard | Technique (speed) | Wintry Rapier |
| Path of the Sweeper | Motivity (power) | Greatsword of Fate |

Your starting path only sets initial stats and weapon. You can respec later and use any weapon.

---

## Weapon Assembly

Most normal weapons in Lies of P can be split into **blade** and **handle** and recombined.

- The **blade** determines damage and the blade Fable Art.
- The **handle** determines moveset and handle Fable Art.
- Handles can be crank-adjusted to shift which stat the weapon scales with.
- Assembly and upgrades are handled at Hotel Krat, the hub you return to throughout the game.

**Special weapons** (usually boss weapons) can't be disassembled and have unique movesets.

### Fable Arts

Fable Arts are weapon skills that cost Fable slots, which fill as you fight. Use them for burst damage, guard breaks and special moves.

### Legion Arms

P's mechanical left arm can be swapped. The base game's Legion Arms are **Left Arm of Steel** (punches), **Puppet String** (a grappling pull), **Flamberge** (fire), **Fulminis** (electric), **Aegis** (a shield), **Pandemonium** (acid), **Falcon Eyes** (a ranged cannon) and **Deus Ex Machina** (mines); Overture adds **Cataclysm** (a shotgun) and **Icarus** (rotating blades). All arms draw from one shared Legion gauge, refilled by resting at a Stargazer or with consumables, and each can be upgraded.

## Builds (per Fextralife's featured builds)

| Build | Key weapon | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Sawblade Slicer | Bone-Cutting Sawblade blade | Heavy attacks, stagger and long reach; Fable Art Furious Slash |
| Dragonblade Dancer | Two Dragons Sword | Flashy, high skill, mobility and parry timing; uses Wind of Swords and Link Emergency Dodge |
| Stormsteel Templar | Holy Sword of the Ark | Electric Shock stagger build with Fulminis Legion Arm; Patient Smash and Alter |
| Lethal Gambit | Tyrant Murderer's Dagger blade + Wintry Rapier's Handle | Dagger crit DPS; Fable Art Grind |

### Build archetypes

- **Motivity:** Big weapons, stagger and heavy hits.
- **Technique:** Fast weapons, crits and quick combos.
- **Advance:** Elemental blades and Legion Arms.
- **Hybrid:** Most builds benefit from Vitality and Vigor early.

### Boss tips

- **Parade Master:** Your first real skill check. Learn Perfect Guard here.
- **Scrapped Watchman:** Watch for fire; stay aggressive when it's staggered.
- **Fallen Archbishop Andreus:** Big, slow attacks and a second phase; patience wins.
- **Eldest of the Black Rabbit Brotherhood:** Fights with his siblings joining; spread damage and don't get surrounded.
- **Laxasia the Complete:** Heavy electric damage; bring electric resistance.
- **Nameless Puppet:** The final boss for two endings. Very aggressive; learn the delays.

## Overture DLC

**Lies of P: Overture** is a prequel expansion. It takes you to new areas like the Krat Zoo and the Zelator Underground Facility.

| # | Boss | Location |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Tyrannical Predator | Krat Zoo, Savanna Experience Center |
| 2 | Markiona, Puppeteer of Death | Krat Zoo, Greenhouse Interior |
| 3 | Veronique, Leader of the Sweepers | Zelator Underground Facility |
| 4 | Two-faced Overseer | Zelator Underground Facility |
| 5 | Premetamorphic Green Hunter | Ancient Ruins Excavation Site |
| 6 | Anguished Guardian of the Ruins | Ancient Ruins Excavation Site |
| 7 | Lumacchio, Leader of the Bastards | Shipwreck Exterior |
| 8 | Arlecchino, the Blood Artist | Monad Charity House |

**Death March** is a boss-rush style mode in the current version; the August 2025 patch (1.11.0.0) fixed weapon destruction and repair issues inside it.

## Endings

| Ending | Key requirements |
|---|---|
| Real Boy: They All Lived Happily Ever After | Give your Heart to Geppetto at "Under the Abyss" (any Humanity) |
| Free from the Puppet String | Humanity level 5+, refuse to give your heart, let Sophia live, defeat Nameless Puppet |
| Rise of P (true ending) | Humanity level 8+ (lies and records build it), give Sophia peace, refuse Geppetto, defeat Nameless Puppet |
| The Rose's Memory (Overture) | Defeat Arlecchino, the Blood Artist |

**Tip:** If you want Rise of P, lie when a dialogue choice would grant Humanity, and listen to the records you find (optional, but each grants Humanity). P's hair turning grey indicates your Humanity is high enough.

---

## Progression Checklist

Use this as a rough order of priorities through a first playthrough:

1. **Chapter 1 to the Parade Master:** Learn guarding and dodging. Don't over-level; practice Perfect Guard on regular enemies.
2. **After Parade Master:** You reach Hotel Krat, your hub for the rest of the game. Level up with Sophia, and check the shops for consumables and throwables.
3. **Early game:** Put your first points into Vitality and Vigor plus your weapon's scaling stat. Upgrade your main weapon with Moonstones as soon as you can.
4. **P-Organ:** Spend Quartz as you find it. Extra Pulse Cell charges and quicker healing are high-value early picks.
5. **Legion Arms:** Try each new arm as you unlock it; upgrade the one you use most.
6. **Mid game:** Experiment with weapon assembly. Many strong combos pair a heavy blade with a faster handle or vice versa.
7. **Late game:** Build elemental resistances for Laxasia and the final bosses; carry consumables that match enemy weaknesses.
8. **Before the final boss:** Decide your ending. The choices on Humanity, Sophia and Geppetto are locked in at the end.

### Missables

- **Humanity-granting choices:** Some only appear once in dialogue or event scenes.
- **Records:** Listen to records you find (at the Hotel Krat gramophone) for Rise of P and extra Humanity.
- **NPC quests:** Many side quests progress between chapters; talk to everyone at Hotel Krat after each boss.

---

## Common Mistakes to Avoid

- **Dodging everything.** Lies of P rewards guarding; Perfect Guard is stronger than dodging.
- **Ignoring weapon durability.** A dull blade does less damage.
- **Skipping P-Organ upgrades.** Extra heals and stats matter a lot.
- **Spreading stats too thin.** Pick a main damage stat.
- **Wasting Star Fragments.** Summon Specters for hard bosses.
- **Missing Humanity choices** if you want the true ending.
- **Leaving items in full inventory.** When your Bag is full, items go to Storage; check it.

---

## Advanced Tips

- **Guard Regain:** After taking chip damage from blocking, attack quickly to regain HP.
- **Break weapons:** Chaining Perfect Guards against some enemies' weapons breaks them.
- **Charged heavy attacks** fill the enemy's stagger and set up Fatal Attacks.
- **Elemental consumables** can temporarily coat your weapon with fire, electric or acid damage; match them to enemy weaknesses.
- **Amulets** add big passive bonuses; experiment with your build.
- **Respec** when you find a weapon you love.
- **Performance:** v1.13.1.0 improved stability. Keep the game updated to avoid crashes.
