Knight Online: Beginner-to-Advanced Guide

A guide to the Steam version of Knight Online (published by NTTGame): picking a nation and class, leveling, stats and skills, the upgrade system, National Points and PvP zones, events, and what's running right now.

Researched September 2026 — current as of the September 21, 2026 maintenance (next maintenance moved to October 6, 2026). Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.

Quick Start

  1. Pick a nation carefully. You choose El Morad (humans) or Karus (orcs) when you create your first character. Your nation decides who you fight in PvP. Ask friends which side they're on before you start.
  2. Class choice matters more than race. Classes are Warrior, Rogue, Magician, Priest and the later-added Kurian (called Porutu on the El Morad side). Race mostly affects looks and some starting stats.
  3. Do your quests. Early quests give most of your experience and gear, and they unlock your job changes. Follow the quest markers rather than grinding mobs.
  4. Moradon is the neutral hub. Trading, storage (the Inn/bank), and event registration happen here. Your nation's castle town is your home base.
  5. Don't upgrade gear you can't afford to lose. The Upgrade System can destroy items on failure unless you use protection items. Start with cheap gear.
  6. PvP costs and earns National Points (NP). You get NP for killing enemy players in PvP zones and lose some when you die there. NP also counts toward monthly Ladder Points, which some events require.
  7. Join a clan. Clans give buffs, a party for events and people who'll help you with gear and upgrades.
  8. Premium is optional but popular. Premium subscriptions give extra experience, drop and quality-of-life bonuses. Events also give temporary buffs.
  9. Check the event schedule. Knight Online is built around timed events (Border Defense War, Chaos, Juraid Mountain, Bifrost, Castle Siege War, Lunar War and more).
  10. Server time is EST. Every event and maintenance time in the patch notes is in EST unless noted.

Nations and Races

Nation Races
El Morad (humans) Barbarian, El Moradian Male, El Moradian Female, Porutu
Karus (orcs) Arch Tuarek, Tuarek, Wrinkle Tuarek, Puri Tuarek, Kurian

Some race and class combinations are restricted (for example, Barbarians can only be Warriors). Each account can hold several characters per server, and they share the Inn storage, which makes alts useful as storage or merchant characters.

Classes

Class Role Main stat Notes
Warrior Frontline melee STR Strong in party and siege play; defense and berserker styles
Rogue Assassin or archer DEX Two main branches: daggers (Assassin) and bows (Archer). Great solo leveling
Magician Ranged caster INT Fire, Ice and Lightning trees. Big area damage in PvP battles
Priest Healer / buffer / melee STR or INT (build dependent) Buffs are vital to groups. Some priests build for melee damage
Kurian / Porutu Hybrid tank/healer STR/HP Later addition. Tanky and self-sufficient

Beginner-friendly: Rogue (archer) for solo leveling, Warrior if you want to be in the middle of the action, Priest if you want to be welcome in every party.

Stats and Skills

Stats: STR (Strength), HP (Health), DEX (Dexterity), INT (Intelligence), MP (Magic Power). You distribute some free points at creation and gain more as you level.

Typical stat focus:

Class Main Secondary
Warrior STR HP
Rogue DEX STR/HP
Magician INT or MP (by build) HP
Priest STR (battle priest) or INT (heal/buff) HP
Kurian / Porutu STR HP

Use a Stat Reset if you want to change your build. NPCs and some items offer stat and skill resets.

Skills: Each class has a basic skill set, three main skill trees, and a master skill tree that unlocks after the second job change. You earn skill points as you level.

Tips:

Gear and the Upgrade System

Rarity tiers: normal, magic, rare, unique and higher. Better gear drops from bosses and events.

Upgrading:

Rules of thumb:

Economy and Currencies

Currency Source Use
Noah Drops, selling items, quests Main in-game money. NPC purchases, trades
Knight Cash (KC) Real money purchases, some events Power Up Store (premium shop)
National Points (NP) PvP kills, events Nation rewards, ranks, some items
Ladder Points Monthly NP Entry requirements (e.g. Ultima's Dungeon needs 50)

Merchanting: You can set up a merchant stall in town to sell items while you're away. Buying low from new players and selling in Moradon is a real way to earn Noah.

PvP: Zones and Events

Open PvP: Ronark Land (the Colony Zone) is the main open-world battlefield, where nations fight all day. Ardream is for lower-level players.

Major events:

Event What it is
Border Defense War Team battle between nations
Forgotten Temple PvE waves
Chaos Free-for-all with rewards
Juraid Mountain Nation vs nation event with objectives
BiFrost Monster and boss event with rewards
Castle Siege War Clans fight over a castle
Lunar War / Dark Lunar War Large-scale nation wars
Knight Royale Battle royale-style event

What server time does Knight Online use? EST for the Steam (NTTGame) version.

Do I lose items when I die in PvP? You lose National Points, not gear.

What's the next maintenance? October 6, 2026, moved from October 7.
