Granblue Fantasy: Relink: Complete Guide

This guide covers Relink's combat fundamentals, party building, sigil and weapon progression, the post-game grind, and the Endless Ragnarok expansion (Fatebreaker grade, Master Traits, the Conflux, Summons, and Chaos quests).

Researched September 2026 — current as of Ver. 2.0.6 (Sept 17, 2026) of Granblue Fantasy: Relink - Endless Ragnarok. Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.

Quick Start

  1. Finish the story first. The main campaign (roughly 20 hours) is the tutorial for everything. The real game (quests, sigils, endgame difficulties) opens up after the credits.
  2. Learn Perfect Dodge and Link Attacks. Dodging at the last moment gives a brief bonus window. Filling the Link gauge and pressing the prompt with teammates unlocks Link Attacks and chain damage.
  3. Chain Bursts are a party damage spike. When the Skybound Art (SBA) gauges are ready, use SBAs one after another within the chain window for a Chain Burst finish.
  4. Play a character you enjoy. Every character can be built for endgame. Mastery trees and sigils matter more than character tier lists.
  5. Do side quests and Fate Episodes. They give mastery points, sigils, materials, and character backstory. Fate Episodes also grant rewards for each character.
  6. Spend Mastery Skill Points (MSP) steadily. Each character has Mastery trees. Unlock the offense and defense nodes early.
  7. Don't overthink sigils early. Equip what boosts your damage and survival. The deep optimization (Terminus weapons, Damage Cap, Supplementary Damage) comes later.
  8. Endless Ragnarok adds a new endgame layer. The Fatebreaker grade, Chaos-tier quests, the Conflux solo mode, Summons, and Master Traits all arrived with the July 2026 expansion.
  9. Co-op is optional. Solo with three AI allies works fine. Online co-op is where the hardest quests get easier, and the expansion added crossplay.

Combat Fundamentals

Mechanic How it works Why it matters
Normal and charge attacks Character-specific combos Base damage and character mechanics
Skills Four skill slots with cooldowns Main damage, buffs, and utility
Perfect Dodge Dodge right before a hit Opens a brief counter window
Link Attack Party Link gauge fills from hits; press when prompted Extra damage and party buffs
Skybound Art (SBA) Big special move when your SBA gauge is full Heavy damage, often buffs
Chain Burst Several SBAs in a row within the window Party-wide damage finisher
Break / Overdrive Enemies enter Overdrive, then can be Broken with damage Break windows are where you deal most damage
Stun Build stun on enemies for a vulnerability window Pairs with stun-focused characters and sigils
Primal Burst (Endless Ragnarok) Chain Burst variant with extra, game-changing effects Extra burst value in the hardest content

Assist modes: Relink has assist options, including a Full Assist toggle that performs actions automatically. They're great for accessibility and for story-only players, but turn them off for endgame, where you need precise dodging.

Characters

The base roster includes the Captain (Gran or Djeeta), Katalina, Rackam, Io, Eugen, Rosetta, Ferry, Lancelot, Vane, Percival, Siegfried, Charlotta, Yodarha, Narmaya, Ghandagoza, Zeta, Vaseraga, Cagliostro, and Id, plus the post-launch additions Seofon, Tweyen, and Sandalphon.

Endless Ragnarok (July 2026) added six characters:

Character Element Style
Beatrix Dark Swordmaster
Eustace Wind Marksman
Fediel Dark Dragon
Fraux Fire Martial artist
Gallanza Earth General
Maglielle Light Spellcaster using blade manipulation

Recent balance: in Ver. 2.0.5 (Aug 28, 2026), Fediel's Enhanced Combo Finishers (from Insight: Finishing Touch) had its max level reduced from 10 to 5, and her magic orbs deal less damage when the effect isn't active. Enhanced Combo Finishers now levels up faster, so damage at max level stays roughly the same. The same patch fixed Gallanza activating his SBA without a full gauge when entering Deathmatch Finale or maxing Wild Showman.

Party building

The AI allies follow the gear you give them, so equip their sigils too.

Progression Systems

Mastery (MSP)

Every character has mastery trees you fill with Mastery Skill Points (MSP) from quests. The trees unlock:

Master Traits (Endless Ragnarok): a new layer where you spend MSP to raise a character's master level and equip passive bonuses. Cygames said in August 2026 that it's reviewing MSP gain and character balance, so expect adjustments.

Weapons

Sigils

Sigils are the heart of builds. Each sigil has a trait (the effect) and a trait level (strength).

Sigil family Examples Use
Damage Attack Power, Critical Hit Rate, Stamina, Tyranny, Enmity, Glass Cannon Raw damage
Damage Cap and supplementary Damage Cap, Supplementary Damage Raise the damage ceiling; endgame essentials
Utility Improved Dodge, Autorevive, Potion Hoarder, Guts, War Elemental Survival and consistency
Character-specific Each character has unique sigils Change or strengthen their kit
Opus sigils Alpha, Beta, and Gamma variants from the Lucilius raid Very strong endgame traits

Ver. 2.0.6 fix: single-level trait sigils (War Elemental, Untouchable, Potent Greens, Roll of the Die, Flight over Fight) were sometimes incorrectly obtained at trait level 11 instead of 15. Affected sigils in your inventory are corrected automatically.

Wrightstones add traits to weapons, and transmarvels (from high-tier quests) upgrade sigils. Siero's Knickknack Shack sells and trades sigils, materials, and tie-in rewards.

Difficulties

Difficulty Notes
Normal and Hard Story and early quests
Extreme, Maniac Post-game ramp; sigils and awakening start to matter
Proud Post-game's traditional top tier
Chaos, Chaos+, Chaos++ (Endless Ragnarok) New top tiers with tougher fights and better rewards

Fatebreaker grade

Endless Ragnarok added Fatebreaker, the new highest skyfarer grade, with its own ranking quests.

The Endless Ragnarok Expansion

Released: July 2026 (July 8–9 depending on region) on PC (Steam), PlayStation 4 and 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. On Steam it's sold as an upgrade kit (Standard and Special editions) for existing owners, or bundled with the base game.

What it adds:

Known issues (fixed): Ver. 2.0.3 had a bug where Fatebreaker-grade players couldn't load a save made on the Grandcypher's deck. Ver. 2.0.4 (Aug 7, 2026) fixed it. Later patches fixed softlocks in the quests The Not Forgotten Sky, New World Order, and On the Threshold of The World.

Upcoming: six purchasable character outfits will start releasing in December 2026, in batches of two, alongside free updates.

Endgame Loop

  1. Clear quests at the highest difficulty you can manage for sigils, transmarvels, and materials.
  2. Farm the Lucilius raid for Opus sigils once your build can handle it.
  3. Run Chaos-tier quests and Fatebreaker ranking quests for transcendence materials and the best sigils.
  4. Push the Conflux for its exclusive rewards and to unlock parts of the new story.
  5. Level Master Traits with MSP on your main characters.
  6. Claim tie-in bonuses at the Knickknack Shack. For example, owners of Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising with save data on the same platform can claim the Karmic Sword of the Apocalypse (Ver. 2.0.6).
