Action Taimanin: Beginner and Progression Guide

A gameplay-focused guide to Action Taimanin, the free-to-play hack-and-slash RPG: combat, characters and supporters, weapons and Magatama, game modes, currencies, events and how to spend efficiently. This guide sticks to gameplay only.

Researched September 2026 — current as of the 22 September 2026 maintenance (Main Quest Chapter 26, "Special Agent Package" event running until 20 October 2026). Live games change; check the linked sources if something differs.

Content note: the Steam store lists mature content descriptors for this game. This guide covers only combat, progression and systems.

Quick Start

  1. It's free-to-play with gacha. Weapons, supporters and costumes come from shops and gacha pulls using Gems and various Gacha Coins. Don't spend premium currency on impulse.
  2. Push the Main Quest. It's the core of early progression and every new chapter comes with clear-reward missions. Chapter 26 launched on 22 September 2026.
  3. Do Daily Quests every day. They're the steady source of upgrade materials and feed many event missions ("clear Daily Quests X times").
  4. Build one main character first. Pour weapon, supporter and Magatama upgrades into a single playable character before spreading out.
  5. Supporters matter as much as your character. Their main skills buff you in combat; upgrading and awakening them is a major power jump.
  6. Check the event tab each week. Weekly Surprise Missions and campaigns hand out Gems, Gacha Coins and upgrade kits.
  7. Maintenance is usually Tuesdays at 02:00 UTC. Plan around a roughly four-hour downtime.
  8. Never use macros or buy accounts. The operator explicitly bans third-party automation and account trading, and won't recover traded accounts.

Who Runs the Game

Action Taimanin (Steam release 5 October 2020; developed by LiLith, published on Steam by Infini-Brain) is currently operated by Gremory Games, which posts maintenance notes, events and known issues on Steam. Customer support was temporarily unavailable from 24 to 27 September 2026; tickets from that window are answered in order afterwards.

Combat Basics

Action Taimanin is a real-time hack-and-slash. You control one playable Taimanin, supported by equipped supporters and a weapon.

Core ideas:

The game was designed around simple taps and swipes; on PC, check Options for your current keyboard and mouse bindings and remap anything awkward before tackling harder content.

A Simple Combat Routine

  1. Open with a gap-closer or ranged skill to start damage safely.
  2. Weave basic combos between skills to keep damage flowing while cooldowns refresh.
  3. Save your dodge for telegraphed boss attacks rather than burning it on trash mobs.
  4. Hold your burst skills for when the boss's defenses are down or it is recovering from a big move.
  5. Reposition after every big enemy attack so you are never cornered.

Characters, Supporters and Rarity

Supporter tips:

Weapons and Magatama

Weapons

Weapons come in rarity tiers and can be upgraded with materials. Limited weapons (such as the current UR Masterpiece in the Shop of Desires) appear during events.

Magatama

Magatama are equipped gems that add stats and effects.

Item Use
Material Kits (Low, Normal, High) General upgrade materials
Element Kit (UR) and Orb Kit (UR) High-rarity upgrade kits

Main Quest Tips

Total War Tips

Club Joint Training

Join an active club. Club Joint Training (live since 4 August 2026) has members combine damage against a shared boss and compete with other clubs, so an inactive club holds you back. Look for a club whose members log in daily.

Taima-Five VR

Taima-Five VR is the operator's "test your characters' growth" mode and was reworked in May 2025. Treat it as a progress check: if you stall there, go back to supporter and Magatama upgrades rather than brute-forcing attempts.

A Weekly Routine That Works

When What to do
Every day Login rewards, Daily Quests (they feed Seasonal Event missions such as "clear Daily Quests 10/20/30/50/70/100/150 times"), check limited-shop timers
After Tuesday maintenance Read the maintenance notice: new chapters, packages, limited supporters, compensation and fixes
New chapter week Clear the new Main Quest chapter on Easy, Normal and Hard before the celebration missions close (about two weeks)
Weekly Claim weekly Surprise Missions and campaign rewards; take part in club content
Before an event ends Spend event shop currency and claim mission rewards; timers usually end at 01:59 UTC

The Seasonal Event's Daily Quest ladder in September 2026 paid out, in order: Magatama Polishing Tool (Colorless), Onsen Tickets, Blank Emblems, Crystal Fragments, Accelerators, Magatama Attribute Change Coins, Gems and Gacha Coins. That is a lot of value for content you play anyway.

Currencies and Shops

Currency Notes
Gems Premium currency; earned from missions, logins and events, or bought
Gacha Coins Standard pull currency
Rotation Gacha Coins For rotating gacha banners
Limited Gacha Coins For limited banners
Phantasmal Gacha Coins Special banner currency
Gold Ingots Shop currency
BP Potions Resource restoration item

Shops:

How to Spend (F2P Tips)

  1. Log in daily for login missions and Gem rewards.
  2. Complete weekly Surprise Missions and event missions before buying anything.
  3. Save Gems for banners that fit your main character rather than pulling on every new release.
  4. Use Rotation Gacha Coins on rotation banners and standard coins on standard banners; don't let event currencies expire.
  5. Check package contents carefully. Many are cosmetic (costumes, voice packs).
  6. Spend event shop currency before the event ends.
